Thank you.

Do you think if I used a velvet yarn, it'll still be nice? °___°
Sherri Wood (9 days ago)
Hello, I have a question. When doing row 2 you say to repeat row two until we come to our size length. Do we include the chain row and row 1?
Kellie Diehl (6 days ago)
The chain doesnt count as a row. So your first row of half doubles is row 1. Hope that helps!
Beth Wade (10 days ago)
I know this is an older video, but can I get the pattern without buying the kit? I searched the "Everyday Crochet Cardigan" on LionBrand's website and it only came up with the kit. If you know, I would love to get just the cardigan, as I have plenty of yarn! Thank you!
Sam Sutton (11 days ago)
Ok so i finished this today and i made the 2xl because im a size 22 to 24, firstly i lovedddddd making it 😊 the instructions on both the video and pattern were really easy and straight forward. My prob came with following the pattern for my size didnt work well with my height im 5 foot 2, as its my first ever crochet cardi ive made i followed it to the letter apart from adjusting the sleeves otherwise they would of been way to long, ive ended up with the length of the 62 rows total for the back making my cardi come right down to my knees lol, ( my son says it looks like a dressing gown haha). Apart from the length i loveeeeeee it and you know what i take it back i can always wear it next winter with some leggings and slipper boots and i will be so comfy and warm it will be great. So tomorrow im starting my next one and ive marked where i want the length to and this time im going to just do 50 rows because i still want it slightly longer than the picture ( past my bum ) this time round it should be just right. I can see myself getting addicted to making these lol ive only been crocheting 5 months and this was the first time i followed a pattern as well as a video so im really pleased with myself for adjusting the sleeves myself by a bit of guess work. Then after this next one i think i will do a slightly shorter one as well. Thankyou so much for making it so beginner friendly i love it ❤❤❤

Hi Sewrella, I would really like to get started on this cardigan, but still need the correct number of stitches for the different sizes. Your tutorial and written pattern is completely different stitches for the sizes. Please post the correct stitches for the different sizes. Thank you very much
Anite van der \merwe (19 days ago)
I love this easy tutorial. The first time I will crochet a cardigan as I am still a beginner. I cannot seem the find the correct amount of stitches for a size Large. I will be using DK yarn. Please advise me as to how many stitches I need. Thank you very much. Anite, South Africa

Hello. I love this sweater and I'm in the process of making it. However, I'm really struggling with my tension on either end of the rows. I noticed that at the time, 3:00 - 3:04 you say to do a half double crochet to start the third row. But that is not the stitch you actually do at that time period. I've watched this segment about 10 times and I'm confused. Is it suppose to be the stitch you show us or is it suppose to be a hdc? In other videos I watch, hdc doesn't look like the stitch you put in the beginning of the third row. When I look on the pattern, it even says hdc. If you or someone could reply to my observation I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
Meriem de Wilt (23 days ago)
I would do a hdc and follow the written pattern. I noticed further on in the video she starts the rows with a hdc. Happy crocheting.
Melanie Scott (26 days ago)
I love this pattern. You explain it so well, I can follow right along. Would you be willing to show us how to crochet a blanket cardigan that buttons on the shoulder?
dawn Amendola (26 days ago)
Can this pattern be made using any stitch just following the same construction ?
Anna raia (28 days ago)

This is one of best instructional videos I've ever seen! You explain and show everything so well! I'm just working on my second front panel now. Love it! You are a great teacher! Thank you so much!

I made this in the shorter sleeve version. Fun and so easy! Had a great time taking a few liberties with the pattern but over all stayed mostly true to the original. My mother, sis all want one now lol. Looks like I'll be a busy boy for the next several days. I've been crocheting since my grandma taught me back when I was 6 so almost 50 years ago and still love a fun, enjoyable a easy pattern that still stays current and comfortable for the minimal effort it requires . Thanks for posting and sharing. Looking forward to trying quite a few more patterns on your page ! :)

I would love to see a long cardigan/sweater done in the lemon peel stitch.... could i follow this pattern and do a lemon peel stitch instead of half double crochet?
Little Miss Spaced Out (1 month ago)
great tutorial and thanks for sharing, but i wish you would have gone more in-depth with how you made the sleeves, like zooming in more when doing the slip stitches for the hdc and the increases, it skipped ahead and im like WAIT
Margie B (1 month ago)
Made this and got the best compliments, it didn't look homemade. Thank you for sharing
Cecilia Baca (1 month ago)
Just finished! Yay! Thank you so much for the pattern! It was so easy, I made it into a long sweater!
Janet Tweedie (1 month ago)
At 5:45, you say to skip 3 stitches, as does your written pattern, then at 5:55, you say you skip ONE stitch, so you only have one unworked stitch between the front panels. I am making a medium size, also, so my numbers should be matching up with yours. I started with a chain of 57, had 56 total st in row 1. Worked 26 st across for the first front panel. If I only skip one stitch, I have too many on the second front panel. To get 26 st for the second front panel, I would have to skip 4 st between the front panels. So, is it more important that my panels MATCH in stitch count? Or that I only skip one stitch between panels?
Janet Tweedie (1 month ago)
I have looked and looked for a correction, to clear things up, but I haven’t found one.

I am a large size on the pattern. But, I think that I made a mistake . It is way too long and does not look right. What is the proper number amount of stitches for the panels I have taken this apart numerous times now and would like   to actually finish this pattern. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Quick question, I purchaed the pattern and there;s a decrepancy on sizing stitches; could you help clear that up for me? I’m making a medium but in your video you said to chain 56 which is the large size on the pattern plus where it says Back piece, it starts at chainging 51 for xsmall so I’m so confused what to chain…please help!

This is my first cardigan and I am so excited. I chose to use the Mainstays yarn, the cheap one from walmart, because it is sooooo soft. I am getting so anxious to be able to wear it. I hope it will fit.

Can you show us how to crochet some interesting designs from Pinterest? Because they have very intricate patterns and since you’re so professional, I’m sure you can guide us and make some pretty sweater. I’ve crocheted two sweaters from us already and I really want to work on some new projects.

Hi Ashleigh, I’ve been searching for a simple pattern for some time and finally came upon your patter for this every day cardigan. Thank you. Question, ch 2 t, does that count as the first stitch for the next row? I seem to be gaining a stitch with each row.

hello ashleigh..i really love your channel..i am crocheting your everyday cardi and my question is on gauge..i have tried an I, J, and K hook and i still get 12 hdc for 4 inches, is that really going to make that much of a difference where gauge is concerned. thank you and have a great day...

I'm working my sleeves and I'm still on rows 6-18 the forearms when you first start HDc I am not increasing stitches but one side of my sleeve (where I chain 2) keeps coming to a point. Is it supposed to do this? I have un done it and restarted the hdc section twice now and it keeps doing it. please help
Annabella Billington (5 months ago)
Absolutely love this pattern, easy to follow. I only have a few complaints, more concerns than complaints lol. I made a 3x version and had to redo the sleeves several times because the sizing for the sleeves is a bit big. But my number one complaint would be the length written for the 3x, it says to go to row 60...but unless you have giraffe arms I suggest you stick with 52-54 lol 😂 it was half a foot longer than my fingertips. Big nope. But once I took it down to 54 it was perfect!

you zoom out when you are crocheting , and zoom in when you are done. no wonder so many dislikes, how can we know what you are doing?

Kellie Diehl (6 days ago)
Just add more rows. Make sure you add the same amount to the back, and both front panels
Linda Goodwillie (6 months ago)
Ashleigh this pattern and video is not “straight forward” as you state in the video. I’ve read all the comments, downloaded the pattern, watched the tutorial more times than I can ever count! You have only answered one question regarding the problem with the sleeves and your answer does not help me because I was already slip stitching into the first stitch not chain. Why tell people to ask questions if we have problems if you are not going to help? I am frustrated and exhausted from ripping sleeves up tens of times only to not have one come out correctly again and again. My increases were done exactly on the rows specified only. I’m using a worsted weight #4 yarn which you state would work and a size K hook. The sleeves do not work for me! I’ve wasted my time and yarn and you do not bother to answer questions.

I started crocheting at the age of 14 I was just starting ninth grade. I gave up even though I was a beginner. I went through high school not crocheting becuase I found it to be difficult and plus I lost interest. I picked it up again through my first year in college. I am almost 22 years old and I just started my first project crocheting mitten/gloves with the fingers out. I can tell you it has been a success so far! I will never put down my needle lol.

if I wanted to make this longer, could I do more rows or will that mess up the pattern? I am also using red heart with love with a L size 8mm hook.
Katherine Paluska (6 months ago)
dreama I decided to just add rows while making the back, then holding up to my back, to decide how long I wanted it. I am using medium 4 weight with the K 6.5 hook.
