Motive power is provided by a separate locomotive or individual motors in self-propelled multiple units. Although historically steam propulsion dominated, the most common modern forms are diesel and electric locomotives, the latter supplied by overhead wires or additional rails. Other energy sources include horses, engine or water-driven rope or wire winch, gravity, pneumatics, batteries, and gas turbines. Train tracks usually consist of two running rails, sometimes supplemented by additional rails such as electric conducting rails and rack rails, with a limited number of monorails and maglev guideways in the mix"

wow how did you get this footage, did you have to pay the driver or are you the driver?

The video is incomplete and possibly a mirror image. It is the Peterborough to London track. There is a fifty three minute video by AWL 57 which shows the entire trip from Peterborough to London and the inside of Kings Cross which is an incredibly big station.

Somereason it looks like AWL 57 driver eye view vid it does in mirrored
Terry Love (7 months ago)
Why is it a reverse image?

Was this filmed in a mirror or the video reversed somehow? Trains in the UK drive on the left, as do cars and trucks. Just before passing under an overpass at about the 2:39 mark a truck goes by on the right side and the lettering on the truck is backward.
Terry Love (7 months ago)
This is a reverse image. Why I do not know. Only TDV can answer that.

THEY LOOK RANK NOW, TRAINS... IT'S ALL SLEEK FINISH AND BUBBLE WRAP. - WITHOUT THE ASSUMED COMFORT.... NAW; STEAM TRAINS ARE FAR SUPERIOR. BRANSON SHOULD, AS HE IS MR GIMMICK, BRING BACK STEAM TRAINS - ECO-FUEL BURNERS, I KNOW THAT... IT'D BE PRETTY COOL. WORTH THE TRAIN JOURNEY AND COST ETC... THEN I STOPPED AT DEATH OF BIRD - KAMIKAZE HIT... NOPE.

Peterboro to just north of Hitchin actually. Train is running correct track but the video has become 'mirrored' somehow, everything is reversed 180° from it's correct orientation.
Philip Mann (9 months ago)
I agree the video has been reversed and it does not get to Kings Cross
TheOneTrueTiggs (9 months ago)
It does not get to Kings Cross
peter taylor (9 months ago)

William Stephens (9 months ago)
Yes, but presumably it was the Peterborough to King's Cross train?
William Mankelow (9 months ago)
Sounds like a Grand Central HST as well.. Also running wrong track at the start.
