This guy knows nothing about looking fashionable, I am amazed he has 2 million subs! Those shoes look ridiculous in casual wear and his tie of comedically long with his ill fitting suit. You sir are a pleb.

Qmed Joe (1 year ago)
His first outfit, Was the belt too long or is this fashionably acceptable? I personally wont go any larger than 2' past my waist size.
Bred Saint (1 year ago)
The suit jacket feels a bit big for his body, tie length didn't help either.

I disagree with the last outfit. Imo i think those shoes didn't fit with the outfit. But the first and second looks great with it.
Antonio Torres (1 year ago)
All three outfits look good, minus the suit tie, of course. Also, I would have worn a henley with the 3rd outfit, perhaps a black henley with the dual military style front pockets and a grey undershirt for contrast. That would be a date outfit for me. I would never run errands with outfit number 3 bc of the risk of scuffing up the shoes and I really would feel overdressed if I was merely grocery shopping or dropping off my clothes at the dry cleaner. Not to mention that the 3rd outfit involves jeans that would not sit comfortably when you're trying to get shit done quickly. I do appreciate your video for showing the versatility of that kind of shoe, but realistically guys are guys man. I ran errands in my tapered sweat pants or 10 inch shorts with my Aldo mid-tops, a henley and mock neck zip up sweater. That's a quick outfit to slip on, that's stylish if the fit is right (80% of a good outfit is in the fit), and will allow me to get stuff done.

chinos and jeans combined with those elegant shoes makes you a "village boy"
Taxidermistification (2 years ago)
Actually the shoes don't look "phenomenal". The trousers are too narrow and a bit too short. Whoever tapered those trousers for you made a mistake. That, with the shoes make you look like a clown. You remind me of that Dr. in the Simpson's. In fact, you remind me of several characters from the Simpsons.

I want my comments to come from a place to empower rather than take away from what you are trying to do. I believe you have a passion for for men's fashion and want to share that with other liked minded individuals. With that being said I will offer a few tips to help you communicate more efficiently and clearly while give you the perception of knowledge and commitment to your passion. 1) Start with a script and practice it as much as possible. Once you find your voice things will come across more natural in your speak and you will not have that many re-takes in your video. 2) Not trying to take away viewers or promote another youtuber however, take a look at Antonio over at real men real style. What you need to pay attention to is has pattern of speach the fluidity of it. Does he make mistakes? Yes however, he is able to stay on toipc and retain his train of thought. Once you find your voice you too will have your own distinct method of delivery. 3) Learn the fashion industry terms and names for products you are speaking about. For example this above video you speak about " brown shoes" however, you neglect to inform the watcher of the name and the color of the shoe of which you're speaking about. Brown is a broad description as it has many different colors. Additionally, dress shoes is also a blanket description. Start with the actual name of the kind of shoe. and then the color in detail. The shoes you recommend is called a Oxford or a Balmoral. Which is much different than say a Derby aka Bluchers. Being able to help the viewer understand what type of shoes will aid them in actually locating the shoe. Think of what they would say to the SA at Allen Edmonds or at any others shoe store when they try and describe the shoes you speak of. This goes for the color as well. The shoe looks more like cognac than brown to me however, use the color the manufacturer has listed when describing the shoe. You want to include the actual manufacturer's model term if you are attempting to highlight the manufacturer and ther shoes. I hope this will help you in your new venture to share your passion. Good luck!
lavaman233 (2 years ago)
I just don't think turn ups on non selvedge denim look right, it needs that small finishing touch with the selvedge strip to look good. Other than that the outfits look great.
Club Soda (2 years ago)
Those shoes look out of place with the jeans. For jeans, use shoes that are less shiny like suede shoes or more casual looking leather like loafers.

lullemans72 (2 years ago)
+harim yanes i was going to say that just now. way too long, a bit shocking even as it went way past the belt to the crotch area.

Gahd Damn those shoes look good! I just bought a similar pair but yours look better, I think. I just got into dressing up, I'm going to mess around and get rid of all of my Buckle clothing! This style fits in much better with wet shaving, watch collecting, and concealed carry. Gentleman shit. I love it.

skillet2331 (3 years ago)
Excellent video my friend! I'm a new subscriber and I was just wondering if you had a video about dress shoes with shorts. I'm looking forward to seeing new videos from your guys. Cheers from Canada :)
FFOGHORN (3 years ago)
It's getting to be that I almost can't stand black shoes anymore.  Browns and tans and oxbloods look so much richer and more interesting. You have extremely good taste and I really enjoy your videos. I did want to ask:  isn't your tie a little long for you?  I always thought a tie should come just to the top of your belt buckle.  However, I do remember pictures from the 20's (30's?) where ties were quite long.
Angelo Daviani (3 years ago)
tight ass jeans no man just no
Bcutter (3 years ago)
I agree about black shoes. I don't even own black leather shoes. Mostly because I've always thought that expensive black leather shoes look pretty much the same as cheap synthetic leather ones. After having studied a lot of black leather shoes for a while though I'm beginning to change my mind and I'm starting to think black shoes can be kind of cool, but as you say, brown shoes are much richer.
beheadoth (4 years ago)
What is the brand of your jeans?
Michael Garcie (4 years ago)
Another great video. Glad to see brown getting some love. Most of the time, one just sees black but brown can be just as stylish.
Daniel Baah (4 years ago)
Nice video. Where can I get those exact shoes to purchase?
ninuxy (4 years ago)
The shoe in the video is Mario Bruni and costs around $250.
Christopher Sajdak (4 years ago)
That suit looks killer! Or maybe the camera's gotten better .. :)
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
i think its both haha
Leemon_01 (4 years ago)
Hi guys, I'm in university at the moment and don't have the money to spend $500 plus on a good pair of shoes. Could you recommend some brands that provide good quality for around $250? Kindest regards, Keep up the good work.
Michaelangelo Renteria (2 years ago)
Zappos is a good place to look for shoes. Get some nice insoles and you can buy at almost anyplace. Keep in mind that the cheaper you go sooner or later the shoes will fall apart. 120$ is about a good judge for nice shoes.
shelleyinthecity (4 years ago)
Are your shirts and pants both tailored? They both look like they fit your body perfectly.  It would seem hard to find pants and shirts off the rack that fit so good.
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
yes they are, and you are right finding clothes off the rack that fit perfect is nearly impossible. I will be doing a tailoring series so you guys can see how i tailor my clothes hopefully that helps!

I want to buy my first pair of Oxford and dress boots. Since fall/winter is around the corner should my Oxford be black and dress boots brown? Or brown Oxford and black dress boots?? Can someone give me suggestions
Myrslokstok (2 years ago)
Brown and brown! Very seldom is black shoes needed or better looking. Whent to a weding the other week and the guy with the most beutifull shoes had brown ones off good quality most other boring black.

If you wear saggy pants, don't you ever comment on these videos!
Alexander Sheikh (4 years ago)
Hey TMF, I was just pondering on the facts that this channel does teach and the intended audience is men but for you guys to include the word fashion in my opinion is a mistake. The reason this seems like a mistake is because you don't base your videos on the broad topic that is fashion; it would benefit your channel if it were called "Teaching Mens' Elegance" if this was the case you could focus on teaching grooming, hygiene, elegant dress and finally behavior. Sincerely, a gentleman

what is the measure of the taper you got your jeans tailored to? Around 13 inches?
Miguel Mendoza (4 years ago)
You are doing an amazing job, guys. Three looks are great.
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
Thank you man!
Brother Nature (4 years ago)
I'm inclined to disagree. A calf-skin cap-toe is not versatile or practical enough to use while running errands. A more versatile choice would be a strong leather wing tip with a rubber stole. It can transition seamlessly from suit to khaki to denim. Also, a lot of guys don't like the hyper tapered pant leg because it's a bit feminine and pretty trendy.
Anthony Johnson (9 months ago)
First outfit looked good with the shoes, sans the tie. Second outfit was phenomenal!! That was one for the books. 3rd outfit....hmmmm, was a bit of a push. It was good that the shoes were in the brown color category...but they were almost still just a tad too dressy for that casual an oufit.(maybe). Would rather see the same shoe in a wingtip for that 3rd outfit. But good video nevertheless. Thank you.
LateToTheParty7 (2 years ago)
+The Duke of Deanwood I agree with you about the shoes as those are Oxfords and about as formal as you can get so the jeans and tee shirt look really doesn't match or balance in terms of formality. That being said, he nailed it as far as fit was for that last outfit and that helped.
Malaquias Alfaro (3 years ago)
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
You might be right. However I think since the shoe is sleek and very simple in design it look more serious with a suit, whereas a rubber sole wingtip can be paired with a suit, it will never look as serious. Which is something you might want for a meeting. And as for the jeans these are actually a slim cut (not skinny) however I just started working out again and my legs are starting to grow...which sadly means all my stuff looks skinny
What's up with the short ass pants you preparing for a flood. Not a good look.here is some basic advice wear clothing that fits.I guess its popular to wear short skinny pants that's tacky

+ShaDOWDoG667 (do) sorry fat fingered it.
The Fjarlsland Project (3 years ago)
+Teachingmensfashion Your trousers fo look a little short. The hem comes down to about the top of your shoes I prefer to have mine between a 1/4 to 1/2 past the top of the shoe so as they don't ride up as much when I sit or crouch if need be. Although if I'm wearing long socks I can deal with it.

Good video, check the mic bro, lots of static!! Also maybe do like a picture montage with a voice over for the pre intro, the new intro looks classy and great
Clark (4 years ago)
Yeah! looks great. Yeah it's always a trade off, if you make it look fancy, it'll take more time and take longer to put a video out.
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
Thanks man yeah we try to input pictures with voice overs as well but we try to mix it up. And thanks! That's all the work of one of our viewers that was kind enough to make it happen! He did an amazing job!

I have the same prob as u with the jacket. the shoulder at the trap area isn't straight.. how do I fix it? thanks
William Boogert (3 years ago)
I had the same problem, fixed the roll at the neck area and the bumps appeared. I just went back to the shop and got a new suit jacket.
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
That was actually my fault haha i had my tailor try to fix an issue i had on my neck region at the end he removed that but the shoulder bumps appeared. I've head of it happening before to other people but this has been my first encounter with it. I've heard some people say there is no solution...but im trying to figure something out
Asad Naqvi (4 years ago)
Well I love the fact that you guys have incorporated my recommendations and they look great. The videos now look much better with more quality, would have loved to had a reply on the email that I sent for the recommendations but that's fine.. A thank you over here would be great. - ASAD NAQVI
Asad Naqvi (4 years ago)
+Teachingmensfashion Its all good and i hope to see you incorporating my recommendation.  keep up the good work and no problem on the email :)
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
Thanks for all the input man! I will try to incorporate more of this, it sounds like a really good idea! And again I am really sorry I didn't respond I've been trying to find the email and still nothing! Don't hesitate to resend haha I will try to catch it this time.
Asad Naqvi (4 years ago)
+Teachingmensfashion i guess me and that person had the same idea, well all my recommendations have been added to the quality of the video  except one. You guys should first introduce the topic of the video first, then the intro, say your 'names' and then talk about the topic at hand. This will add another level of professionalism and quality to your videos.  (Key part is saying the names after the intro) And their is one thing that I keep noticing is that the cut scene is not that good and cuts out some word(s) which is post production problem, a little more care will also increase the quality as no one likes to see bad scene cuts.  About not replying to the email I sent, no problem at all, I completely understand and keep up the good work.
Teachingmensfashion (4 years ago)
Hey Asad thanks for the input! However this really nice intro is all the work of one of our viewers who was kind enough to make one and send it over! Also apologies for not replying to your email, we try to answer every email/comment we get (we get tons of it a day) and sometimes some get lost or for some reason end up in the spam folder (which we also check regularly to answer any who have gone in there) Cheers!
