How to assign virtual ip address in linux

02:14
Ip Address Alias [Ip Address VIRTUAL] Ip Address Alias is a condition, in which we are required to use two or more Ip Address in the NIC (just One network adapter). As if our computer has two NICs, and connected in two or more different networks. Still in the interfaces file, just add scripts to Ip Alias,, just add sub-numbers behind the name of the original interface. Eg eth0: 0, eth0: 1, eth0: 2 or eth1: 0, eth1: 1, etc. and do not need to add gateway. nano / etc / network / interfaces # The loopback network interface ... # The local network interface .. # The local alias network interface auto eth0: 0 iface eth0: 0 inet static address 192.168.43.3/24 auto eth0: 1 iface eth0: 1 inet static address 192.168.43.4/24 Do not forget to always restart the networking service, every time you finish configuring. service networking restart

What is VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS? What does VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS mean? VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS meaning

02:14
What is VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS? What does VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS mean? VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS meaning - VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS definition - VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ A virtual IP address (VIP or VIPA) is an IP address that doesn't correspond to an actual physical network interface (port). Uses for VIPs include network address translation (especially, one-to-many NAT), fault-tolerance, and mobility. For one-to-many NAT, a VIP address is advertised from the NAT device (often a router), and incoming data packets destined to that VIP address are routed to different actual IP addresses (with address translation). These VIP addresses have several variations and implementation scenarios, including Common Address Redundancy Protocol (CARP) and Proxy Address Resolution Protocol (Proxy ARP). In addition, if there are multiple actual IP addresses, the NAT can perform load sharing. VIP addresses are also used for connection redundancy by providing alternative fail-over options for one machine. For this to work, the host has to run an interior gateway protocol like OSPF, and appear as a router to the rest of the network. It advertises virtual links connected via itself to all of its actual network interfaces. If one network interface fails, normal OSPF topology reconvergence will cause traffic to be sent via another interface. A VIP address can be used to provide nearly unlimited mobility. For example, if an application has an IP address on a physical subnet, that application can be moved only to a host on that same subnet. VIP addresses can be advertised with full netmasks (unsubnetted), so its application can be moved anywhere on the reachable network without changing addresses.

Oracle RAC in Azure with FlashGrid – 1-Minute Introduction

01:18
https://www.flashgrid.io/azure/ FlashGrid enables database high availability in Azure by bringing the most trusted HA technology, Oracle Real Application Clusters, to the cloud and by providing the required advanced network and storage capabilities. FlashGrid Cloud Area Network software, or C-LAN, creates virtual networks in Azure that support multicast, virtual IP addresses, and separation of different types of traffic. FlashGrid Storage Fabric software creates shared storage from the Premium SSD disks attached to individual Azure virtual machines. FlashGrid C-LAN and Storage Fabric are installed and configured on each of the VMs designated for Oracle RAC nodes. FlashGrid Cloud Provisioning automates the entire cluster deployment process. The result is Oracle RAC database cluster running in Azure, having all high availability and performance characteristics expected from a mission-critical enterprise database. FlashGrid VM for RAC nodes is available in Azure Marketplace. Deploy RAC in Azure in a few clicks today by using the FlashGrid Cloud Provisioning online tool, or contact FlashGrid for a detailed walkthrough of the solution! www.flashgrid.io

Learn more: http://slrwnds.com/IPAMVman Learn how you can automate IP address management for VMs on-premises and in the cloud to save time, help prevent inaccuracies, and dynamically scale your virtual environment. Connect with SolarWinds: THWACK IT Community: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SolarWinds Twitter: https://twitter.com/solarwinds LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/company/solarwinds Instagram: http://instagram.com/solarwindsinc/ Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/solarwinds_inc/ Transcript: Your cloud or virtual environments are meant to be dynamic with VMs being brought up and down quickly. However, IP address management remains a major gap in many environments. Admins still have to request IP addresses to be allocated and DNS records to be updated. This can slow down the process or lead to network disruptions due to errors. SolarWinds IP address Manager enables the automation of this process by integrating with VMware vRealize Orchestrator. The vRO plug-in contains actions and workflows essential for IP address and DNS management, enabling you to create vRealize Automation blueprints to simplify and automate the provisioning and de-provisioning of VMs. Save time, help prevent inaccuracies, and dynamically scale your virtual environment by automating IP address management for VMs on-premises and in the cloud.
