Mint Cookies & Cream Partscaster Strat with Gold Foil pickups from Guitar Fetish
For the official Youtube ad, click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKLnAb5EnnE&feature=youtu.be This is a GREAT sounding and GREAT playing guitar! It's pretty handsom too! The finish is a surf green metal fleck that looks cool. In fact, the reason I picked up the neck and the body because I thought they looked cool and I liked the space age styling. I decided I want to build an axe especially made for playing vintage rock but it ended up being a bit more versatile than just that. This is a great guitar for blues, rockabilly, surf, psychedelic rock, jazz, classic rock, shoe gaze and lots of other stuff. The tone this thing has ranges from mean to smooth with really nice tone roll off that just purrs. I wired this guitar to have the 5 normal modern strat tones from the five normal pickup selection decisions, but I also added a phase switch for the middle pickup so that you can also get a vintage sound out of settings 2 and 4. Before the 70s, strat didn't have a reverse wound middle pickup which caused settings 2-4 to have a very different, distinctive sound that is not possible to get from strats that are not specially made or modified to produce it like this one is. With this mod, you have the best of both worlds! You ill have access to tones from the 50s and 60s as well as tones from the 70s to present. There is also a treble bleed modification added to the volume pot which allows you to turn the volume down using the guitars knob without loosing high end. Shielding to prevent EM interference from creating noise, orange drop caps for the best sounding tone adjustments, and all the best electronic components. CTS and Bourns pots, Oak Grigsby switch, Switchcraft OP jack. The pickups in this guitar gold foil clones from Guitar Fetish which you can read about here: http://www.guitarfetish.com/KP--GFS-Gold-Foil-Single-Coil-Strat-Pickups-Black--Kwikplug-Ready_p_22008.html This guitar features: Gold Foil clones from guitar fetish Freshly leveled, crowned and polished frets Custom Caved bone nut CTS 10% 250k pots for volume and neck tone Bourns 500k push pull pot as tone for the middle pickup and a middle pickup phase switch .047uf orange drop tone cap Oak Grigsby 5 way pickup selector Duncan style treble bleed done with a .0015uf orange drop and 100kohm resistor Switchcraft output jack Shielding Roller trees Vintage style tuners Vintage wilkinson style bridge Pearl inlays Professional, low, comfortable setup free from buzzing with a floating tremolo Stats: 25.5" scale 1 5/8" nut width 14" fretboard radius Slim but comfy D shaped neck I strongly stand by my work and believe that it is what sells my guitars. All of the repairs and setup work done at my shop is guaranteed. Not only am I willing to warranty the repair work that I do on any instrument for up to two years, I am willing to make sure that each player gets a setup on these instruments that works for them. If you need adjustments made to an instrument's setup that is bought here, I will do my best to make sure I can make it work for you. The price is firm unless a trade can be offered. I know the value of the work I do and of the instruments themselves but I am always on the lookout for instruments that can be worked on and saved for a new life in a new home. I am open to partial trades. Generally, things I look for are fretted instruments that need work or repair, parts for guitars, cases and things like that. It's important for me to be able to fix and upsel things that come in. I am generally not interested in new guitars or things that are in playable condition. I have other instruments here as well that you are welcome to check out and play and I also offer a full range of setup and repair services and sell a limited selection of accessories. Seth Lover SH-55 Guitar Pickup
Designed jointly by Seymour and humbucker inventor, the late Seth Lover. Just like the original 1955 P.A.F.s, the SH-55 utilizes a nickel silver cover and long-legged nickel silver bottom plate, butyrate plastic bobbins, plain enamel wire, Alnico 2 bar, wooden spacer, and black paper tape. To be completely true to the original design and tone, the pickup is not wax potted. The tone is vintage P.A.F. The unpotted cover gives a slightly "honky" microphonic quality. Vintage style single conductor cable standard. More info here: http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/humbucker/vintage-output/sh55_seth_lover/

Guitar Pickup Comparison - Caparison Design vs Planet Tone Custom Vintage PAF
NOTE** If you want to skip to the comparison, skip to 07:04, verdict at 32:14 For more info on signal chain and AxeFX Amp Choices used for these sounds, visit - http://www.jasiomusic.com/blog Other cool links: https://www.caparisonguitars.com https://www.planettone.com http://www.kobraandthelotus.com As I mentioned in my last video, Planet Tone Pickups made me a set of custom PAF pickups inspired by some old guitars that I've had really cool experiences working with in the past, specifically some Les Pauls from the 70's era. I took a day to record a bunch of clean, crunch, heavy and lead guitar sounds with the stock Caparison Pickups in my TAT-FX before switching them out for the Planet Tone set. I matched all the takes (almost) and dove into my Pro Tools to try and tease out the differences in their frequency balances, considering how they might sound mixed into an arrangement of other sounds. I need to be super clear with the fact that I love the Caparison pickups, used them happily for the last 2 years and had no intention of changing them. These guys reached out to me asking if I was interested in having something tailor made so I took a trip down memory lane and came up with the concept of trying to match the mojo of those old guitars that totally killed it in the studio sessions I used them in. The result overall is pretty badass! I'm actually really happy with both sets. If you're interested in learning any more info behind this story or more technical information about how I set up this session, just follow the link above to my blog and you can read more at your leisure. TONE CHECK: Fender Jimmy Page Mirror Telecaster Guitar Demo | NO TALKING
We've done demonstrations on a lot of guitars for our Tone Check series. However, none of them have bowled us over like Fender's new American made Jimmy Page Mirror Telecaster. This is one of the best sounding and playing Telecasters that we've seen in sixteen years of being a guitar shop. This guitar is an absolutely amazing instrument and goes way beyond just being a guitar for Led Zeppelin fans. The pickup set in this guitar sounds positively phenomenal and Page aside, this guitar will go down as one of Fender's BEST ever. Gear Used In This Video Available At Cream City Music: Fender Jimmy Page Mirror Telecaster: http://bit.ly/CCMJimmyPageTele Fender '65 Princeton Reverb: http://bit.ly/65PrincetonRI Vertex Effects Ultraphonix Overdrive: http://bit.ly/VertexUltraphonix Jimmy Page's historic Telecaster has produced many a classic lick, with one of the most revered being the opening riff of "Good Times Bad Times", the standout opener from Led Zeppelin's first album. This iconic Tele started out with a White Blonde lacquer, then was outfitted with mirrors, and finally stripped down and hand-painted by Page himself for its final form. Now, the Jimmy Page Mirror Telecaster features all the hallmarks of the legendary guitarist's original. This version is based off of Page’s Tele when it was in its “Mirror” phase (the circular mirrors are included in the tweed case). Plus, its sound is something to behold - a pair of Fender Jimmy Page Custom ’59 Tele single-coils deliver the scorching tone that changed rock 'n' roll forever - the same licks that are peppered throughout Led Zeppelin's first album. Designed alongside Page himself, this guitar is a true treat to diehard fans and vintage enthusiasts alike, and even features a Jimmy Page signature on the headstock rear. Victory "Toaster" - Retro Acoustic Guitar Pickup - Demo / Review - Guitar Discoveries #42
Ever considered adding a magnetic pickup to your vintage acoustic guitar? Robert Cassard shows you the unique style and varied tonal options of the "Toaster" pickup from Victory Pickup Company in Catasaqua, PA. Great for studio use. Using an early-60s folk guitar made in Finland tuned to Open G, Robert plays the opening riff of the Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar," demoing the pickup dry (without effects), and with medium and heavy distortion. Wade Costenbader of Victory Pickup makes a variety of low-noise, beautiful-looking retro-styled pickups ranging from about $50-90, depending on design, features and accessories included. Wiring a Fender Stratocaster - fitting pickups and volume and tone controls.
How to wire or rewire a Fender Strat. In this video I wire up a new scratch plate with all new components. This is as a result of the limited tones available on the Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster. The 3 way pickup selector switch and the week DeMarzio pickups leave the guitar with a serious lack of the sort tonal variations I use to write music, so I completely rewire the guitar so it better suits my needs. The results are great and I can now get from light almost electro-acoustic tones right the way through to a descent drive on an 80s distortion. I will be posting a PDF of this tutorial and the circuit diagrams if anyone is interested. Used Guitar - 1968 Kawai Full Size Jazz Style Whammy Dual Pickup Pro Setup
https://lawmanguitars.com/product/1968-kawai-full-size-jazz-style-whammy-dual-pickup-pro-setup-hard-shell-case/ Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting... A really cool 1968 Kawai ES175 Style Guitar, with Whammy tailpiece and a brand new form fitting Hard Shell Case. We are used to seeing lots of smaller thin line and solid body electrics from Kawai, but to find one of these full size jazz guitars was a thrill. They didn't build nearly as many of these... I knew they were out there but I have never had my hands on one. I was not disappointed. Really cool guitars! I also have the Three Pickup Model listed as well. How about that..I have both for you!! This guitar is massive...a full 18 inch wide body with 3 1/2 inch wide sides...25 1/2 inch scale neck with a nice thin 1 5/8 inch wide nut. The neck is thinner like an old Gibson...I love the neck with the zero fret! This guitar is awesome. All original and it plays and sounds great...Original Whammy bar, knobs, 2 cool Teisco Pickups, Tuners, Pickguard and the original inlaid Kawai Logo... These Made in Japan guitars are very cool. Very distinctive sounding Pickups ..A lot of voices in this cool guitar. Its really really quiet...No hums at all but bear in mind the pickups in these Japanese guitars are microphonic. You will hear your pick hit the pickups...Cool sounding but microphonic... aren't they all? LOL.... The guitar plays as good as it looks. Our Tech checked all the electronics out and set it up with awesome playing low action. The neck is dead straight. No sore fingers with this guitar. What a pleasure to play. There are a few buzzes at the 13th fret which can be solved with raising the bridge a little. I prefer dealing with the buzzes but you may want to raise the action slightly.... The guitar is not perfect...Some of the chrome has pitted, especially the whammy bar and pickup cases, some finish cracks but nothing structual. Its a solid guitar that has been completely checked out by our Techs. The Sunburst finish has mellowed that looks fantastic. Only dings and a few scratches .. Check out that original pickguard. Those are always missing! Even the whammy bar is still with this time machine! We didn't get this guitar with a case so we found a perfect fitting 18 inch brand new Hard Shell case for it. It fits great and looks wonderful in there. Plenty of room in the top for the archtop as well. .....Now this vintage guitar is beautiful but its used and sold as-is no returns..however, I have been hand picking my customers guitars for 20 years now and they all loved the guitars I found for them ...This cool Kawai will certainly not be an exception... . Thanks for checking out our cool vintage guitars, amps and guitar parts! Lawman Mike at Lawman Guitar

Single-pickup guitar review round-up: modern electrics vs 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior
Modern single pickup electrics up against a genuine classic Gear demos playlist: http://goo.gl/30cAf Subscribe for more from Guitarist: http://goo.gl/2PRXE If you're the sort of guitar player that likes multi-channel, multi-switching amps and MIDI-switching pedalboards that take up more space than a drum kit, you might wonder why on earth any player would latch on to an electric guitar with just one pickup? We'd wager the appeal lies in direct contrast to that: less is more. Here, we take four, affordable modern single pickup electric guitars - the Fender Classic Series '50s Esquire (£754), Eastwood Airline '59 1P (£699), Fret-King Eclat DBC (£599) & Gordon-Smith GS-1 (£454) - and see how they compare to our benchmark tone monster: an original 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior. The amp throughout is our house Vox AC15C1. A vintage Tokai LP Style Guitar gets new Pickup!
This was a customers guitar they brought it. It is a beautiful, vintage, Japanese Tokai. What a lovely thing it was too, and a pleasure to work on because it hadn't been bastardised. Customer was selling it, if my memory serves me correctly. So they wanted to fit the original pickup back into it and sell the fine guitar.
