A Trip to the South Pole for FLAT EARTH Believers

03:09
All flat earthers say you can't travel to the South Pole - WRONG! This company that created this video, Adventure Network International, does it every year and they are doing it right now in December (since it is spring at the South Pole right now). The people at the south pole in this video are not saying anything about seeing Ice reaching into space or having any difficulty getting in or that the ice is holding the ocean from running over the edge of the flat earth. Flat earthers are trying to act authoritative by saying you can't go in, UN won't let you in, there are weapons lining the shores keeping us out and so forth. Bullshit! Here is a list of tourist agencies going to Antarctica https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=antarctica+tours Here is the link to this company that offer this special flight to the South Pole http://www.adventure-network.com/experiences/south-pole-flights

One man's solo trek to the South Pole

06:17
Henry Worsley's lifetime fascination with Antarctic explorers such as Ernest Shackleton, Roald Amundsen and Robert Scott led him to retrace their expeditions in one of the most inhospitable places on Earth. In 2015 Worsley set off yet again to emulate his hero, Shackleton, by embarking on the first solo crossing of the continent. Anthony Mason talks with David Gran, author of the new book "The White Darkness," and with Worsley's wife, Joanna, about her husband's fateful trip. As the fifth largest continent in the world, Antartica is also the most Southern, overlying the "South Pole". Scarcely touched by humans, the frozen land boasts breathtaking scenery, broken by only a handful of scientific bases and a "permanent" population of scientists numbering only a few thousand. Visitors to Antarctica generally must brave rough sea crossings aboard ice-strengthened vessels, but those who do are rewarded with amazing scenery and tremendous and unique wildlife. Destinations ============= The primary destinations for those visiting Antarctica will either be a research base (for those working on the frozen continent) or the Antarctic Peninsula or Ross Sea area (for those visiting by ship). Other destinations are reachable only by those blessed with extreme motivation and (most importantly) funding. South Pole — needs no introduction Southern pole of inaccessibility — the furthest place in Antarctica from the Southern Sea (in other words the hardest place to get to in the world), home to an abandoned Soviet station, which although covered by snow, still bears a visible gold Lenin bust sprouting from the snow and facing Moscow (if you can find a way inside the building, then there's a golden visitor book to sign) Mount Erebus — world's southernmost active volcano, on Ross Island right next to ~Mount Terror!~ Anver Island / Anvord Bay — if any part of Antarctica is "touristy," this is it, home to Palmer Station (U.S.), the museum at Port Lockroy, Cuverville Island, and the only two cruise ship stops on the continent: Paradise Bay and Neko Harbor South Shetland Islands — another set of major attractions on the Antarctic Peninsula cruise ship circuit, including: penguins and hot springs at Deception Island, Hannah Point, Half Moon Island, Aitcho Islands, Artigas Base (Uruguay), and the ever friendly Polish researchers at Arctowski Station McMurdo Sound — McMurdo Station (USA) and Scott Base (New Zealand) on the mainland near Ross Island Mawson's Huts — the small encampment of Sir Douglas Mawson's ill-fated Australian Antarctic Expedition, of which he was the sole survivor, at Cape Denison, Commonwealth Bay

The deadly race to the South Pole

Two exploration teams raced to the South Pole. Only one made it out alive. Correction: A previous version of this video used an outdated British flag. The error has been corrected. We also occasionally referred to the British team as English. In fact, some members of Scott's team were Scottish and Welsh. Help us make our channel more ambitious by joining the Vox Video Lab. In 1912, he reached the Pole only to learn that his Norwegian rival, Roald Amundsen, had beat him to it. Caught by freakish weather and a string of bad luck, his entire party died trying to get back. Reasons for his failure range from his use of ponies rather than dogs to a highly unusual temperature drop that made the journey back impossible to survive. SOUTH POLE | NIGHT IN ANTARCTICA

05:54
The South Pole is one of the coldest, driest and harshest places on earth. The Aurora Australis can be seen together with the core of the milkyway only here in Antarctica. Temperatures below -70°C/-95°F during the polar night are not uncommon. Together with strong winds and exceptional aridity this is one of the hardest places to shoot timelapse in. Special equipment has been constructed and modified to keep the cameras running. Expedition Antarctica

More than 30 years ago, Robert Swan became the first man to walk to both the North and South Poles. In 2017, he found himself back on the ice, trekking 600 miles across Antarctica with his son, Barney. But this time, the duo set out to complete the first-ever expedition to the South Pole using solely renewable energy. Their mission: prove that if these technologies can work in the harshest environment on Earth, they can work in our everyday lives. Along the way, they faced unexpected obstacles that threatened to claim Barney's limb -- and Robert's life. the Geographic South Pole - Last Degree Expedition 2013

16:06
The Geographic South Pole or Terrestrial South Pole, is one of the two points where the Earth's axis of rotation intersects its surface. It is the southernmost point on the surface of the Earth and lies on the opposite side of the Earth from the North Pole. Situated on the continent of Antarctica, it is the site of the United States Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, which was established in 1956 and has been permanently staffed since that year. The South Pole Last Degree ski expedition is an incredible adventure and a huge accomplishment set on the coldest, windiest, and driest continent on earth. Trip covers the last 60 nautical miles to the Geographic South Pole. In winter 2013 for Polar Explorer Frederik Paulsen it was his 8th Pole adventure. Dr. Paulsen, became the first person to have journeyed to all eight of the earth’s poles. Predominant among this feat’s historical impediments was the fact that few men, if any, had ever considered it. Eight poles: who knew? Well, there are four in the north and four in the south: geographic, geomagnetic, magnetic, and least accessible — that is, farthest from land, in the Arctic, and from the sea, in Antarctica. (The location of the Arctic one is disputed.)

🎅 Voyage to North Pole on Nuclear Icebreaker '50 Years of Victory'/50 Лет Победы

You might also enjoy some of my other films of icebreaker voyages 🚢: ⛄ "Northeast Passage on a Russian icebreaker" (https://youtu.be/VQReGCLCUX8) 🐧 "Icebreaker Voyage to Emperor Penguins in Antarctica" (https://youtu.be/v_wDwclu9vc) ⛄ "Sailing the Northwest Passage" (https://youtu.be/IsR-3rfN5-A) This is an in-depth film of a voyage through the Arctic Ocean ice to the geographic North Pole on the nuclear powered icebreaker '50 Years of Victory'. Leaving the North Pole, we visited Franz Josef Land before sailing back to Murmansk. Along the way we saw polar bears, walruses, seals and birds. '50 Years of Victory' (50 лет Победы / 50 Let Pobedy) is the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the world. She is an engineering marvel and is powered by 2 nuclear reactors that produce 75,000 horsepower giving her the ability to break through ice up to 2.8 meters thick or nearly 10 feet of ice. The 50 Years of Victory has an endurance of 5 years before she needs refuelling with new uranium. The reactors eliminate greenhouse gas emissions that are characteristic of ships burning fossil fuels. ANTARCTICA!! 🐧❄️💙 The South Pole, Emperorer Penguins, Ice Caves!! TRAVEL VLOG 📹

15:04
I had the opportunity to visit Antarctica! 🙏. I flew there from Cape Town, and spent a week at Whichaway Camp with White Desert. Whichaway camp is special bc it's the only accommodations that offer overnight, on-land stay in Antarctica. While there, I was lucky enough to visit the Emperor Penguins, sleep overnight at the South Pole, and see the flourescent ice caves. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I'll never forget. I hope you enjoy this video!!!! Interesting Antarctica Facts: -Our winter is their summer -You can only visit where I stayed (Whichaway camp with White Desert) in Antarctica 6-8 weeks out of the year bc of temperature, light, and weather dependencies -it's light outside 24 hrs a day during the 6-8 weeks you're able to visit Thanks for watching!!!! I appreciate you taking a look. Trip to the North Pole

And there I was on board the icebreaker, wiping off sweat after lifting 60 kilograms of my and Oleg's equipment, and trying to understand where the hell I was. Russian icebreaker "50 Let Pobedy" is a huge red-and-black monstrosity and one of the most modern and powerful ships in the world. It was built in 2007, but every line and detail tells you, "I was made in the Soviet Union." Frankly, it really makes a strong impression on you, and it becomes even stronger once you see this ship sail through ice. It breaks meter-thick ice floes as if they were eggshells! The most impressive thing is how fast it pushes through the ice floes. I couldn't resist and took a video, which I usually don't. Plane Lands in South Pole for Rescue Mission

00:41
Federal officials say a Twin Otter rescue plane has landed at the South Pole to evacuate a sick worker from a remote U.S. science station. The small plane reportedly made the 1,500-mile, nine-hour trip on Tuesday through the dark and cold from a British base on the Antarctic peninsula. Two of the 48 people at the South Pole station are ill and at least one of them needs medical care off the continent. The National Science Foundation, which runs the station, says the flight crew will rest for 10 hours and will then return to the British station before heading to a hospital outside of Antarctica. http://hosted2.ap.org/APDEFAULT/386c25518f464186bf7a2ac026580ce7/Article_2016-06-21-US-SCI--South%20Pole%20Rescue-The%20Latest/id-1cfbf2c3d949486a90451efb0ade5279 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
