How To Travel Around London and Buy an Oyster Card - Important Tips!

05:26
Here are some very important tips on how to travel around London and buy an oyster card. Especially if it is your first time visiting London, if you aren't careful you can end up paying a lot more for your travel so it's important you pay the right fare. You can use your oyster card or contactless payment card for lots of different types of transport on London TFL services. This includes buses, trains, tubes, Thames Clipper boats, trams and even the Emirates Airline cable cars. My favourite thing to do is to travel on the old Number 15 routemaster buses. A real icon of London. I'll show you all the tips and tricks on how to behave like a true Londoner and not to be barged out of the way by the locals when travelling on transport in London. There are other ways to pay for London Transport including Apple Pay on your iphone or with a contactless credit or debit card. But I think it's easiest to get an oyster card when you first arrive. Try to avoid buying paper tickets because they cost more!! And the buses don't accept money so you must have an oyster or credit card or apple pay. Let's take a look at the phrases and conversation skills that you can use to discuss things related to transportation. The sentences with the key phrases are highlighted at the end of the video. Cheapest travel in New Zealand? Train, car, bus or plane?

04:59
Intercity: https://www.intercity.co.nz/?agent=985560 Air New Zealand: http://airnewzealand.co.nz/ Jucy Car Rentals: https://www.jucy.co.nz/ KiwiRail: http://www.kiwirailscenic.co.nz/ I just came back from my trip to New Zealand and it was amazing! For those of you who are planning to visit there, then you must know how expensive it can be so I wanted to use this video to share my experience and explain the different types of transportation you can use to get from one city to the next and list out their pros and cons so hopefully it can make your trip planning easier. Hopefully, you’d be able to save some money along the way! Let's imagine we're going from Auckland to Wellington, there's plenty of ways of traveling there. Let's start off with car rentals. If you go with Avis, you can see that their prices are insane...another option is to go with a popular car rental place called Jucy. If we choose the cheapest car and not add any extras, we still have to pay $51, but don't forget to include gas in there as well! Another option is to take the train, it's pretty pricey and for the route from Auckland to Wellington, it only runs 3 out of 7 days a week, so if you're on a tight schedule, that could be a bummer! Another option is to take a plane with Air New Zealand, they have tickets as low as $59 but remember there's additional charges for choosing your seats and bringing on a checked bag. Also, taking the plane can save you a lot of time but you'll miss out on the great scenery. Finally, there's the option of taking the bus with Intercity. It's the cheapest alternative there is and you get to see the beautiful scenery without having to drive! Also, check out their travel passes, you might be able to save on that too! Hope this video was helpful and if you’re planning a trip to NZ, feel free to ask any questions you may below and I’ll try to give you some useful advice!

Travel Switzerland by Train, Bus and Boat with Swiss Travel Systems

02:55
Switzerland if full of charming mountain villages, and I'd heard one of the best ways to experience them is with Swiss Travel Systems. This public transport system connects nearly the entire country by rail, bus and boat. It’s known for being efficient, always on time and makes it very easy to travel between more than 75 Swiss cities and towns. But best of all, it passes through stunning scenery, some of which can only be seen by rail. So I decide to traverse the country by rail on my weeklong holiday. I start my journey after landing at the Zurich Airport and head southwest to one of the countries most moneyed resorts, Gstaad, which is about a three-hour ride train ride. On part of it, I am aboard the Golden Pass, one of the panoramic trains, which offers wide-open views of some of the countries quintessential landscapes. I'm instantly impressed and happy I chose to travel this way. My favorite part of this journey, however, is passing through small towns with snow-capped peaks in the background. One of the first things I notice in each town is the church, which is also often the highest building in town, and offers a certain kind of peacefulness at each sight. Once I arrive in Gstaad, I most adore the chalet style architecture, openness of the country, and skiing and offbeat adventure like fat biking. Up next, I head northeast to Interlaken. After a train ride just under 2 hours and with a few transfers, I jump right into adventure that tests my adrenaline threshold. At places like Vertical Rush, I break through fear on a base-jump simulator and later paraglide over the Victorian resort for more fun. Then it’s time to wrap up the weeklong experience in another cozy mountain village, Grindenwald. To get here, it only takes about 30 minutes and offers an Apex ski experience at the base of Mt. Eiger, one of the most recognized mountains in the alps. It is known especially for a fierce North Face that only the most daring and accomplished climbers have conquered. On other mountains, you can find activities like the First Cliff Walk- a suspended walkway from the mountain, sledging and snow hikes to pristine alpine landscapes. It’s tough to leave the Swiss countryside and resorts as I board a train back to Zurich, but I'm much happier than I would be had I chosen to drive. It's relaxing to just sit back and watch the scenery zoom by, and I'm so glad I decided to travel this way. More perks of purchasing a Swiss train pass include half price tickets on mountain railway tours and free museum entry to 490 museums. Luggage can also be sent to and from your destination with your airline from every international airport in the world. And within Switzerland, you can send luggage from one destination to another, so there's no need to haul your skis and bags with you. On board, you can enjoy a meal in the dining carriage, or in the bistro or grab a snack in the minibar.

Lahore Metro Bus Travel 2017 !!! https://youtu.be/g7cIgEj-mdQ The Lahore Metro or Lahore Rapid Mass Transit System (LRMTS) is an under construction rapid transit system (metro train system) for Lahore, the second largest city of Pakistan. First proposed in 1991, funding was not secured, and in 2012 it was abandoned by the Punjab government in favour of the more cost–effective Lahore Metro Bus System which opened in February 2013. However, the Punjab Government decided to restart development on the Lahore Metro as a $1.6 billion project with Chinese assistance. The first line was inaugurated by Pakistan's Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, on 17 July in 2014 and was officially titled The Blue Line. The Orange Line, which will be 27.1-kilometre (16.8 mi) long (25.4 kilometres (15.8 mi) of which will be elevated), will be the second line of the project and is currently under construction. Travel Switzerland - Tips on Using Public Transportation in Zurich

02:05
Learn how to ride common form of public transport in Zurich. (Zurich, Switzerland) It is easy to navigate around Zurich. You can use the city's extensive tram and bus network, hop on a lake steamer, ride a taxi or rent a bike. The easiest way to get to almost any location in the city is to ride a tram. Use this map at the tram stop to find out your route. Today, I will be going from Central to Kunstouse. Before buying a ticket at one of the machines, decide what kind of ticket you need and then press the appropriate button. If you plan on riding more than twice, I highly recommend the day pass. After you press the button, the ticket price will be displayed on the screen. When paying, make sure to have plenty of coins, as most of the machines do not accept bills. This is where the ticket comes out. Now you are ready to get on the tram. This plate shows you what trams stop here. You can check out the timings on this departure table. Our tram to Kunstouse leaves in three minutes. Looks like that is our tram. You can see the route by looking at the color and number. The tram halts at every stop. Make sure to press the button or the door would not open. The trams can take you practically everywhere in Zurich. If you need to take a taxi, make sure to order one on the phone or get one on a taxi rank. I am Nadia Migdal, showing you Zurich.

HOW TO TRAVEL IN CUBA: Bus ◼︎Train ◼︎ Caminones ◼︎ Colectivos ◼︎ Cycling

13:28
Cuba is a great destination for tourists. It is so interesting for so many reasons, among them its diversity of means of travel. The most common means of travel would be by bus either individual travel or organized travel. Car rental is certainly popular due to its flexibility. Really easy would a taste of Cuba by taking a cruise that stops at three ports of call. For the more adventurous, why not take the challenge of crossing Cuba on "camioness" or by bicycle touring. Colectivos also an option if you miss a bus or are looking to meet people.Oh yes for shorter distances there is always the horse and carriage that are still a big hit in Cuba.

In this video you’ll learn about the similarities and differences between the hop on hop off buses and the public buses (Circulator and Metrobus). Rob evaluates them on 1) Price 2) Frequency of service and 3) Information you get on the bus. Stick around to the end of the video and he’ll tell you when it makes sense to take a hop on hop off bus and when it makes sense to skip it when you travel to Washington, DC. How to Use the Busses in Rome

I'm Bojan from The Roman Guy. Today, we're going to teach you how to use the buses in Rome. This is our latest in the series of "Roma How To" videos. Now, in any foreign country, the transportation system can get pretty complicated, but today, we're going to show you how to conquer the buses of Rome. We recommend carrying a ticket with you while in Rome. You never know when you're going to need one and actually, it's really hard to find one on the bus. You usually get them at a Tabacchi place. Now let me show you how to actually buy one. Buonasera. Buonasera. Un biglietto del autobus per favore. Quant'e? Grazie lei. When traveling around Rome, it's important that you know where you are, where you're going, and which bus number you're supposed to take. We're standing here on the bus stop in Piazza Venezia. The Italian word for bus stop is fermata. You'll read the fermata on top of the boards and also the name of that bus stop. In this case, Piazza Venezia. After that, it's important to choose which bus to take. Now, above the bus number, you'll always see a different letter, X meaning Express. Watch out, this bus doesn't stop at every single stop. Night bus is marked with the letter N and the ones you'll usually be looking for are the buses with the letter U, meaning urban. Our destination, in this case, is Piazza Navona. Now, usually on these bus stops, you'll not see the name Piazza Navona on the board, which means we need to look for the nearest stop available. This is when your map will come in handy. To get to Piazza Navona, we need to get off at Corso Vittorio Emanuele, which means, looking at your board in front of you, we're looking for the bus number 64. It's also important to notice that the first and the last stops are what's known as the Capolinea meaning the beginning and the end of your course. In order to get to Piazza Navona from Piazza Venezia, you'll have to take the bus number 64, heading into the direction of Stazione St. Pietro. Now that you're on the bus and the crowd is finally cleared out, you got to use your tickets. You have the arrow pointing out the place where you need to insert it into the machine. Check it out. That's it, validated. Everyone, we've reached our destination, the beautiful Piazza Navona. Now, you can admire Bernini's Four River Fountain. We hope this was helpful and make sure you check out our other "Rome How To" videos. Goodbye for now

Florence to Siena by bus

04:10
Siena, in the heart of Italy’s Tuscany regions, is one of the great medieval cities to explore. It's a UNESCO world heritage site. It is so well preserved that it attracts visitors by the millions and yet most people don't spend the night here. They are visiting on a day trip, maybe three hours, half a day. So we’re going to show you some tips on how to get the most out of your visit. Siena has so many attractions we’ll be exploring it in several movies in our series. Most people who visit Siena are staying in nearby Florence just over an hour away by bus or by train or by driving. So we’re going to show you the best way to get from Florence to Siena, to begin your explorations. Like many travelers, you’re probably relying on public transportation to get around, like bus or train. And in getting from Florence to Siena a very convenient way to do it is by taking the bus, the SITA bus line, SITA. Their bus station is right in the heart of Florence across the street from the main Florence train station, and you can easily buy your bus ticket right on the spot at the bus station. Just get to the window, queue up maybe, if you're traveling on a weekend it'll be busier but during the week it's much better, there's fewer people, and you can get on your bus and head to Siena. You want to be sure to catch the Rapida bus rather than the ordinary bus, because the Rapida is nonstop, it just takes an hour and 15 minutes so that's very convenient. The other bus does make three or sometimes four stops along the way, it could take you an hour and 40 minutes, so get the Rapida, it's the same price and more convenient. There is generally one bus an hour and you can check the schedule on their website. Lately they're leaving it 9:10, 10:10, 11:10 AM for example. And it's usually not too busy, especially if you're traveling during the week and during the off-season. On a weekend it'll be a lot more busy and you might have to stand – some people stand all away, it's possible, but you'd much rather have a seat. The bus seats are quite comfortable and you get a lovely view out the big windows of the rolling hills of Tuscany as you drive along. Most of the route is on a freeway so it's not the most scenic journey in the world but you do get nice glimpses of the vineyards and a few olive trees here and there, and the green hills in the distance. You might even notice of fortified hilltop village off on the right side of the bus. You could travel from Florence to Siena by train but it's really not convenient. It takes two hours, which is much longer than the bus ride, and when you get to Siena the train station is not in the Old Town – it's down below and it could take you a half an hour walking uphill to get to the Siena Old Town, so in this case going by bus between Florence and Siena is the best way to go. Upon arrival in Siena you'll probably want to use the facilities at the bus ticket office. They've got a pay toilet which is very clean and very convenient, and you could buy your return ticket if you didn't already purchase a round-trip ticket back in Florence. And if you're staying overnight in Siena for a few days you'll find that you can ride the bus to some of the other nearby towns of Tuscany. It's a very easy walk from this bus stop into the Old Town – it will only take a few minutes and then right away you're in the pedestrian zone. We have got several detailed movies about the visit to Siena walking the little lanes and bringing you into the great cathedral and explore the main piazza il Campo. Have a look at our YouTube channel and our website where you'll find more than 1000 travel movies.

How To Use Barcelona Metro & Getting Around the City

03:07
Barcelona city has lots of ways you can travel around: the Metro, sightseeing tour buses and (lest you forget) your own two feet! The Metro is 100% our transport of choice but we've outlined all the travel possibilities in this video so you can up your own mind! Well, other than using your legs, the name of the game in Barcelona is the Metro. We like the buses too but more on that later. We definitely recommend the Metro. It’s cheap, it’s safe; you’ll get to see loads of the city and if you’re familiar with using the London Underground, the Metro will feel pretty similar. So here goes… A single ticket costs €2.15 and this is good for one, single journey. But, if you plan on travelling a lot over the course of your holiday, consider buying a T-10 ticket. It’s really useful because it allows you ten journeys and each journey can take up to an hour and fifteen minutes and I think it allows you on the bus as well as the Metro. And you can use it between two people so I can go through the barriers and then pass it back to Siân-Amy and she can go through too. What’s also great about the T-10 ticket it that you don’t have to use all of your ten journeys in one day, because that would be pretty tough to do. In fact, no matter when you buy your ticket, it will still be valid until the end of January the following year. If for some reason you don’t like the idea of those, you can buy tickets that are for two-day travel, three-day travel, that sort of thing. But we have spoken with locals out there, we’ve done it for ourselves and, sorry, but the T-10 just wins hands down. And we realise that’s a lot of information to take in, but what it comes down to is… The T-10 will be great for you if you’re going to be in Barcelona for a few days and if you plan on going around the city and seeing a tonne of sights. T-10 is the way forward. T-10 FTW. T-10! That’s the Metro in Barcelona. It’s open until midnight Sunday to Thursday and then 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Next up, seeing the city from buses. Sightseeing tours work on a hop-on, hop-off basis. There are two main bus tour companies in Barcelona. You’ve got Barcelona Bus Touristic and Barcelona City Tour. Barcelona Bus Touristic claim to be the official Barcelona bus tour company and they have three major routes: red, green and blue. The red route includes some of the Gaudì attractions, Port Olympic - where as the blue route takes you to some of the most popular tourist attractions like Sagrada Família; you’ll go up to Park Güell and FC Camp Nou. The green route is a seasonal route. It runs from April to November and includes the coastal views. You can buy your tickets on the bus, although I think you’re less likely to get them if it’s going to be really busy. You can buy them in the tourist office or you can even buy them online before you go, if you want to be super organised, and then when you get on the bus they’ll swap them for real tickets. You can do a walking tour of the city if you want to use your feet. Some of them you do have to pay for and some of them are free. They include tours of the Gaudí attractions; a tour of the old city; a tour of Barcelona at night time. Yeah, it’s really cool. Obviously, if you don’t want to pay though, you can just wander around yourself and find your own way around. We’re going to recommend using your feet to keep it cheap or going on the Metro.
