Check out my Blog: http://exceltraining101.blogspot.com If you've taken business class or familiar with management consulting strategies, you've probably come across this tool called a BCG Matrix. Also known as a growth-share matrix, the BCG matrix was created by Bruce Hendersen in the 70s (founder of Boston Consulting Group). It's a tool that helps you analyze companies or products based on a quadrant that shows growth rate and relative market share. You can actually create this fairly easily on Excel, so check out the video to learn how. #exceltips #exceltipsandtricks #exceltutorial #doughexcel

What is PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION? What does PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION mean?

04:16
What is PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION? What does PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION mean? PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION meaning - PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION definition - PRODUCT LINE EXTENSION explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ A product line extension is the use of an established product brand name for a new item in the same product category. Line Extensions occur when a company introduces additional items in the same product category under the same brand name such as new flavors, forms, colors, added ingredients, package sizes. This is as opposed to brand extension which is a new product in a totally different product category. Line extension occurs when the company lengthens its product line beyond its current range. The company can extend its product line down-market stretch, up-market stretch, or both ways. Product line extensions are a process where companies with an established brand alter the factors of a product or products to satisfy a refined segment in the market. There are two types of product line extensions, horizontal and vertical. Horizontal extensions consist of keeping the price and quality consistent, but changing factors like flavour or colour to differentiate the products. Vertical extensions consist of increasing and decreasing the quality and price to create inferior and luxury goods. These product line extensions are often closely related to existing products in a brands portfolio, but targets specific brand consumers through this approach. Product line extensions help companies identify and tend to the needs of refined target markets. This approach is a way to try and increase company sales, as well as expanding their brands product portfolio within the desired market. This expansion of a company’s product line also increases their competitive impact, and if applied appropriately, their advantage within the intended market. Practically, when brands apply a product extension strategy they can often benefit from the new addition or additions. This is as extending their product line enlarges their product portfolio and as a result provides the consumers with more variety to choose from. This is positive, as consumers tend to enjoy being able to have choice and through expanding a brands product line, the brand is providing this choice. Investing in this approach is commonly pursued by companies due to their desire to create revenue and to advance their competitive status against rival companies. The advantages when undergoing product line extensions is that the new product or products are commonly closely related to existing products, so the company often has the appropriate production process and capacity to produce the new product or products. Issues facing product line extensions can include company’s investments in the new products without the desired return. The product may come at a loss or may not be able to make enough of the return the company was forecasting for. The new addition could also send confusion to the company’s customer base, and in turn negatively affect the loyalty they have for the brand. This can evidently become a long-term risk in terms of brand image, as consumers may have a new view of the brand as cheap, in the case of downward extension, or unrealistic and unreasonable in terms of upward extension. An issue also connected to the extensions, could result in the production process becoming more and more complicated as a result of new products, this could affect the company’s efficiency and quality in the production of the brands product range. An advantage of extending company product lines is the likely rise in sales, demand and market share. Product line extension increases the amount of different products available to consumers, and through adding more products into the market it keeps consumers interested. This can be helpful in avoiding customer base loss.

Asset Management: Industry Overview and Careers in Asset Management

04:45
Asset Management: Industry overview and Careers in Asset Management Asset Management is about managing clients’ investments and providing them with the strategies and expertise that would allow them to achieve their goals and secure their financial future. This video is part of our series dedicated to the different sub-industries in the world of Business & Finance. Our goal is to understand how it functions, what type of services it offers its clients, which are the major players in the field and what it is like to do this for a living. An individual or an institution is likely to approach an asset management firm when their investment income is substantial. In such cases, asset managers are able to offer expertise across a wide spectrum of asset classes (such as stocks, bonds, commodities, real estate, private equity, etc). Moreover, large firms have branches all over the world and are therefore able to offer geographical expertise as well. Given that asset managers closely follow all of these markets, they are able to offer high-quality advice and superior risk-return investments. The large players in the asset management industry are indeed very large. There are several companies whose assets under management exceed $1 trillion. Some of them are pure investment funds (BlackRock, Vanguard, StateStreet, Fidelity), while others are arms of the large banking conglomerates (Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, UBS, BNP). The largest firm in the world in terms of assets under management in 2015 was BlackRock. Don’t Buy a Life Insurance Policy Until You Watch This!

07:00
Thinking about buying life insurance? If you don't want to get ripped off, or make the dumb mistakes that so many people make every day with their insurance, watch this video BEFORE you buy. Take a listen to Byron - he knows his stuff - as he shares inside secrets with you that the insurance companies won’t. Once you watch this, you’ll know what you need to know in order to SAVE BIG BUCKS on your next life insurance policy. Visit our blog and learn more about how much life insurance you need and the kind of coverage that fits your life. If your thirst for knowledge extends past the common questions, peruse our blog at your leisure. Blog: http://bit.ly/2DR415l How much life insurance do you need? Learn! http://bit.ly/2DRQ9I0 3 Reasons People Put Off Buying Insurance. Know it! http://bit.ly/2DSMFVZ Prefer to read? Here's the video in words! Hi. I’m Byron Udell, Founder and CEO of AccuQuote. As one of the leading life insurance experts…with over 30 years experience in the industry…I’m here to tell you that NOT having life insurance is truthfully…one of the stupidest things on the world to do. If you DON’T have life insurance, you are leaving your loved ones open to a world of hurt. What if you suddenly died TOMORROW…how would your family get by financially? How would your SPOUSE pay for the mortgage…utilities…health care…your kids’ college tuition, etc.? Think about it. Now…do the right thing. Hey, EVERYBODY needs life insurance. It’s one of the SMARTEST things you can do for yourself...and your family. Life insurance turns pennies into dollars when your family needs it the most. Why would you NOT want to buy this product? Exactly! But before you DO buy life insurance…let's talk. First off, you have to figure out what KIND of life insurance best suits your needs. TERM LIFE INSURANCE is certainly the most affordable. A term life policy now costs about A THIRD of what it did just 20 years ago. A 35-year old male can get a half a million dollars of term life coverage for over 20 years…for less than a dollar a day. How’s THAT for a great deal? Term life insurance is typically sold in terms of 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years. Another great thing about a term life policy is that you can also use it as an investment tool. With a RETURN OF PREMIUM…or…ROP term life policy…you can get 100% of your premiums back...if you are alive at the end of the term. It’s like getting life insurance…with a money-back guarantee! Say you buy a $1 million policy with a 30-year term. And let’s say your premiums are $10,000 per year…depending on your age, health and other factors. At the end of the 30th year, the insurance company will pay you $300,000…tax-free! Think of the money as a new huge asset in your retirement portfolio. And if you DO die before the term, then your family will collect the $1 million death benefit. An ROP policy does cost more than a traditional term life, but it’s a better way to win the game of life insurance. Now, the downside of term life is that it only covers you for a temporary period of time. And when the term of that policy ends, the new premiums skyrocket upward dramatically. Frankly, most people…at that point…simply drop the policy. Which is GOOD for the insurance company…but BAD for you. But the ONLY way to win the game of life insurance…is to DIE with your policy in force. Meaning…your policy has to be CURRENT. Then you’ve WON. Otherwise, you’re up the creek without a paddle. But if you purchase a PERMANENT LIFE policy, you won’t have to worry about your policy ending. There’s no expiration date on this type of product. And the results are just amazing! Take a woman, AGE 43…with a $500,000 PERMANENT LIFE policy…making premiums of $2,500 a year. At age 86…43 years later…she would’ve paid $107,500 in premiums. If she died the same year at age 86…her family would receive $500,000 tax-free. That’s a net gain of $392,500! That’s a tax rate of return of over 7 percent! What OTHER investment product competes with THIS level of return? And one of the best places to buy affordable life insurance is at AccuQuote. Since 1986, we have helped hundreds of thousands of customers save over $100 billion in coverage. We work with ONLY the top-rated, name-brand life insurance companies in the industry. And we can help YOU get the life insurance you need…at a price you can afford. Just call us at the number on your screen or go to AccuQuote.com. We love to help people save money. I’m Byron Udell…and thanks for listening.

Tableau's Product Portfolio- This video explains the 7 major products that Tableau offers for Business Intelligence and Data Visualization. 1.Tableau Prep- This is the latest offering from Tableau, launched in the year 2018. It is a desktop application for data preparation. Typically when using Tableau earlier there would be a dependency on third party ETL tools. With the Tableau Prep we can now combine data from different sources, re-shape it into the required format and cleanse the data thereby reducing the dependency of third party tools to an extent. Tableau Prep is available for the Windows and Mac operating systems. 2.Tableau Desktop- This is a desktop application and is the primary tool for data visualization. This application can connect to more than 60 different types of data sources like files, relational databases, cloud databases or big data. It helps in building reports just by dragging and dropping the required fields into appropriate shelves. Combine these reports to build interactive dashboards for getting better insights from the data. The dashboard can be exported or published to the various platforms. Tableau Desktop is available for the Windows and Mac operating systems. The products listed below are meant for sharing and collaborating with individuals, small teams or the entire organization. 3.Tableau Server- A web based application meant for enterprises. It's used for hosting the Tableau workbooks developed using tableau desktop which can then be accessed by licensed users. Tableau server can be installed on the cloud giving the organization complete control of the infrastructure. 4.Tableau Online- A web based application for enterprises and is more or less similar to Tableau Server in terms of functionality, the only difference being that Tableau Online runs on the cloud and is completely hosted by Tableau itself thereby helping organizations avoid the costs associated with setting up of infrastructure themselves. 5.Tableau Public- This product is meant for non commercial purposes. It is used to share Tableau dashboards to a public forum for the online community to view and interact with the data. The content hosted on Tableau public can be accessed by everyone and it has no security mechanism available for restricting the access. 6.Tableau Reader- This is used for opening and interacting with dashboards or stories contained in a Tableau packaged workbook. It is a desktop application and is available for the Windows and Mac operating systems. 7.Tableau Mobile- This is a mobile application available for both the Android and iOS operating systems. Why Portfolio Management?

05:35
Why Portfolio Management? And what is it about? Hello, I am Odo Klöcker from the European Center for Digital Transformation. In the next few minutes I would like to give you our perspective on what Portfolio Management is about and why it is so important for the success of organisations. All organisations start out very little Such as this tiny plant. Many start out in very fertile soil And so they begin to grow. Fast. This happens through organic growth as well as through mergers and acquisitions. They become a jungle. Highly dense and highly complex. Hard to understand. Hard to steer and optimise. To do so they must be structured somehow. So they get organised. Into different divisions. Usually to deliver different parts of the value chain or to drive different business lines Typical divisions of commercial organisations are Marketing, Sales, Technology, IT, Customer Operations, Finance, HR These silos and their responsible managers have different targets And they begin to optimize their silo to best meet these targets The silos strive for operational excellence in their specific arena Which is not necessarily beneficial for the organisation as a whole The silo targets often have conflicts with one another Marketing pushes revenue growth, Sales units sold, IT focusses on stable operations and projects in time and budget, Operations on happy customers and few complaints. And so these organisations pull into different directions In doing so they fight for scarce resources. In terms of budget and man power. Budget and resources are usually limited So there is a need for some sort of orchestration. From the CEO and his or her team. Like a conductor and his philharmonics orchestra. The conductor decides when which musician is supposed to play and to some extend also how. To put the silo managers on a leash is most likely not the way to go The silo managers would be disempowered. They would lose the freedom to do what is necessary to fulfil the targets. And can thus not be made responsible for the results. Orchestration should happen more like at an airport. The tower watches the different steps of the process happen. For some of the steps the Tower gives the Go to continue, The tower manages the portfolio of flights, And the tower also intervenes if things go wrong How does the process for such flights look like, Passengers check-in, the plane is being prepared, Passengers board, they buckle up, Security information, take-off, The plane flies to the destination, Landing and passengers grab their bags. The real art on portfolio management is however, Not to manage only one portfolio. But to manage several portfolios And to understand and consider their interdependencies For instance: Projects, applications, products, services, promotions, KPIs This all seems plausible, so why is portfolio management not implemented or effective in many organisations This is because managers have the responsibility to deliver on the targets of their division. So while understanding what would be best for the organisation as a whole. They are forced to balance this with what is best for their division. And as long as external pressure is not hard enough This will not change. Cross-divisional steering measures will be kept lean. And in many industries economical pressure has not been hard enough And oftentimes another round of silo optimization will come first. Today there is significant pressure on many industries Euro-crisis, digital transformation, Nuclear energy exit, Demanding customers, low interest rates, price erosion, new technologies demanding large scale investments. So many organisations in many industries struggle Energy, Telecom, Financial Services, Banks, Insurances, Retail chains, Travel, Business Process Outsourcers, And also the public sector is pressured by budgetary discipline. Now an external view is required An outside-in perspective needs to be taken, Transparency and the ugly truth. Portfolio Management can be a sustainable way forward But a concept alone is not enough. The key and critical part is implementing and establishing Portfolio Management. A major success factor for establishing Portfolio Management is the right tooling. And Portfolio Management is neither only an IT centric discipline nor is it about Projects only. It's real strength lies in a cross-functional implementation, so a tool must be flexible and support any portfolio, for example also products, services and KPIs Here is the Good news… There is the European Center for Digital Transformation. With a strong track record in portfolio management the European Center supports you end-to-end: from vision to implementation and provides a cutting-edge tool that smoothly enables Portfolio Management in your organisation and with your very specific needs.

How To Get Amazon Reviews For Your Physical Product (AMZ Tracker Review Club)

16:48
How To Get Amazon Reviews With AMZ Tracker: http://projectlifemastery.com/amztracker Need more Amazon reviews for your physical product? If you're a seller on Amazon, then you know the importance of getting quality reviews for your product. You can have the greatest product in the world, but if it's not ranked highly on Amazon and doesn't have customer reviews, then nobody will be able to find it and purchase it. Often times, your competition can have a worse product than you, but be getting more sales just because they have more reviews and market their product more effectively! Getting reviews for your product on Amazon isn't something that you can just passively wait to happen. You need to be proactive and give your product a boost right when you launch it, to help give it some momentum on Amazon and to organically start getting sales. One of the best softwares and websites I've come across to help get Amazon reviews for my products has been AMZ Tracker, specifically the AMZ Tracker Review Club. AMZ Tracker has a lot of cool features that can help you with your Amazon products, such as optimizing your product listing, tracking keywords, coming up with additional keywords, etc... however I've found the AMZ Tracker Review Club to be one of the most beneficial resources. Understanding Short Selling | by Wall Street Survivor

What is short selling? Join our March Trading Contest for your chance at over $8000 in prizes: https://app.wallstreetsurvivor.com/registerto/MarchMarketMoversReport?utm_source=MarketMoversReport&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=MarchContest Most people think of investing as buying a stock (or other asset) and making money when its price goes up - but it’s also possible to make a profit when a stock price goes down. This process is called short selling (or shorting). Short selling isn’t all peaches and cream. There are opportunities for high returns, but as usual, these come with high risks. The big risk here is that there is no limit to your losses. When you buy a stock, you can only lose the amount that you invested. But when you short, your losses are infinite because there is theoretically no end to how high a stock’s price can rise. Short selling isn’t for everyone. It requires a lot of time and research, and a desire for high risks and high returns. Short selling is primarily used for speculator looking to make a profit when the market goes down or investing looking to hedge their position. Cryptocurrency’s role in the future of money | Elad Gil

03:12
Read more at BigThink.com: Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink So, from an end-user perspective there’s a lot of questions around the impact of either Bitcoin or blockchains. And if you look at the very best technologies they tend to sort of eventually fade seamlessly into the background. So for example, you’re using your phone every day, but you don’t necessarily understand how TCPIP is working in terms of transmitting data on the Internet. And there’s lots of examples like that where the best technology sort of fades into the background in terms of what you’re doing. In the case of Bitcoin or related cryptocurrencies a lot of the near-term impact of that is really around financial services and the emergence of a new digital asset class. And so if you look at Bitcoin really what it is is in some sense a store of value or a store of wealth, and many people compare it to something like millennial gold. It’s basically a digital asset that you hold as an investable product. And so I think many of the early uses is just going to be this will end up being a part of everybody’s portfolio in ten years, and you’re going to have some proportion in bonds and some proportion in stocks, and then some proportion in cryptocurrencies. So I think for most people that’s really how it’s going to exist in the shorter-term. Some people are talking about the Web3 or Internet3 and how all infrastructure is going to flip over to decentralized cryptocurrency-based systems. I’m much more skeptical about that, at least in the short run. In part because centralized systems tend to be dramatically more efficient than decentralized systems; in other words if you look at the cost of running a centralized system it’s much lower, you have bargaining power around the underlying hardware, you have economies of scale in terms of how you deploy it and where you place it, and also just running these systems is much simpler if you have a centralized approach. What that means it is is that most of the times that you’re going to see blockchains pop up is when you’re using something that is uniquely associated with them. And if you ask what a blockchain is it’s really sort of a bad database, but it has very unique characteristics where it has this notion of being trust-less, in other words you can, in aggregate, come to consensus or decisions together or conclusions around the quality of data, the quality of the transaction or other things in a way that no central authority can control. And what that means is you’ve created systems that are effectively censorship proof or seizure resistant, in other words the government can’t come and take your asset if you’re in a country which has very bad governance, or it means that no third-party can suddenly accidentally erase your data, or you can’t hack a third-party to access your data (although obviously you can still hack a blockchain). And so really where that tends to crop up, if you ask “what are the things that I don’t want the government or other third-party to take from me?” or a place where I want some notion of privacy around what I’m doing, it really tends to be around money or it tends to be around personal data. And in the long run I think those are the areas that are going to be most impacted, but I think in the short run really it’s going to be about “Do you have a piece of this digital asset in your portfolio?”

4. Portfolio Diversification and Supporting Financial Institutions

01:18:01
Financial Markets (2011) (ECON 252) In this lecture, Professor Shiller introduces mean-variance portfolio analysis, as originally outlined by Harry Markowitz, and the capital asset pricing model (CAPM) that has been the cornerstone of modern financial theory. Professor Shiller commences with the history of the first publicly traded company, The United East India Company, founded in 1602. Incorporating also the more recent history of stock markets all over the world, he elaborates on the puzzling size of the equity premium. very high historical return of stock market investments. After introducing the notion of an Efficient Portfolio Frontier, he covers the concept of the Tangency Portfolio, which leads him to the Mutual Fund Theorem. Finally, the consideration of equilibrium in the stock market leads him to the Capital Asset Pricing Model, which emphasizes market risk as the determinant of a stock's return. 00:00 - Chapter 1. While useful for Quantitative Finance, these general purpose libraries lack support for common financial analyses like the computation of certain risk factors (Sharpe, Fama-French), or plots of portfolio allocations over time. Pyfolio is a recent open source tool developed by Quantopian to fill this gap. At the core of pyfolio is a so-called tear sheet that consists of various individual plots that provide a comprehensive image of the performance of a trading algorithm/portfolio. In addition, the library features advanced statistical analyses using Bayesian modeling. The software can be used stand-alone, w**ith our open-source backtesting library Zipline and is available on the Quantopian platform. This talk will be a tutorial on how to get the most out of this library (http://quantopian.github.io/pyfolio/).
