Fresh Water Meets Sea Water – Boundary Explained

02:40
This is the Fraser River Delta just in front of Vancouver BC Canada, this is where sea water meets fresh water. The river water from Fraser River, flowing into the ocean water of the Strait of Georgia. Modern Science has discovered that in the places where two different bodies meet, there is a barrier between them. This barrier creates a noticeable line, as each water body has its own temperature, salinity, and density. If you go on google earth and look up Fraser River or Sea Island which is an airport right at the water edge, you will see this boundary line stretching for miles. Primitive Survival Skills: Primitive Technology Salt Water Filter - Full

12:37
Primitive Technology Salt Water Filter is a full video tutorial on how to survive on an island where there is no fresh water. First we built a primitive pot, we perforated a small hole on the pot. Then we took a bamboo tube and made a chiller. Cooling water so that water vapor can condense into droplets to obtain maximum water. We take the sea water to boil. Fresh water then evaporates and produces fresh water. Salt will precipitate at the bottom of the pot. By the original technology we had to salvage sea water to obtain fresh water and salt. We will continue to work on the next video on primitive technology and survival skills. Subscribe to the channel to keep track of the latest videos Channel: https://goo.gl/2j7yCS
What Happens When You Drink SeaWater?

02:47
Video by https://www.kramgallery.com/ Over 2/3rds of the earth is covered in water, but only 2% of that water is pure. As clean drinking water becomes more scarce, you maybe wondering…What happens if I drink seawater? Let’s first examine how our bodies absorb water. You may remember the process of Osmosis where water moves from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated solution, through a semi permeable membrane. The cell’s membrane allows water to pass through, but not the particles dissolved in water, like salt. Normally the saltiness of water inside our cells is the same as the saltiness outside our cells. When you drink water, a concentration difference takes place. Water from the outside your cell moves inside to maintain balance. This is called an isotonic state. When you drink too much seawater, the saltiness outside your cells will increase rapidly and the cells force water molecules out in order to restore balance. So even if you are already dehydrated, drinking sea water will cause your cells to release more water and you will end up peeing out more liquid than you take in. Conversely if you chug a massive amount of pure water, the exact opposite will happen. The saltiness outside your cells will decrease rapidly and water will be forced into your cells. This can cause the cells to swell and burst, which in extreme cases leads to seizures, coma and sometimes death! This would only occur if you were to chug 6 liters or more in an instant though. So what can you do if you are stranded on a deserted island with absolutely NO fresh water around? The simplest way to extract fresh clean water from the ocean is through distillation, which separates the salt from the water. In order to distill water you must heat the sea water so it evaporates, then trap the evaporated water vapor until it cools and condenses back into liquid water. Kinda like the moisture on your bathroom mirror after a hot shower. This condensed water will be free of all salt and 100% safe to drink. And be sure to subscribe :) Video by https://www.kramgallery.com/

MTV : When Seawater Turns Sweet 原詞:千載雲 修改:熊軍,熊軍 修改 作曲: 熊軍 配器: Tony 演唱: Drew Parker Seawater is so salty, but why, oh why? A poet quietly replies, "It's from thousands and thousands of tears, bitterness and suffering for ages and years. I look forward to the day, when seawater turns sweet." When all good people all over the world, Together, finally, have made it through to the spring in which everything everything is renewed. When seawater turns sweet. Why is sea water so salty to the tongue? It's said a sage left this answer once, "It's from Buddha's tears of compassion Because of all his lost children. I look forward to the day, When seawater turns sweet." When all good people all over the world, Together, finally, have made it through to the spring in which everything everything is renewed. How Seawater Desalination Works

06:41
CASE STUDY: Desalination is a complicated process, the Seven Seas Corp.* approached DaVinci Studio to develop an animation that simplified the explanation of the process. Taking a cue from Seven Seas we started with squiggly style animation to give the technical looking components a non-technical look. Bottom line is to go from engineering-speak to the layman's level. Desalination (also called "desalinization" and "desalting") is the process of removing dissolved salts from water, thus producing fresh water from seawater or brackish water. Desalting technologies can be used for many applications. The most prevalent use is to produce potable water from saline water for domestic or municipal purposes. Saltwater is denser than fresh water by Doctor C

03:05
Fresh water from rivers floats on top of the denser seawater. This has implications as more fresh water enters the sea due to global warming. This may upset the ocean currents that now stabilize our weather. Doctor C shows how fresh water floats above saltwater using colored liquids.

Fresh and Salt Water - Between them is a Barrier - Quranic Miracle

00:47
Fresh and Salt Water - Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress. Amazing Phenomenon mentioned in the quran over 1400 years ago. Allaahu akbar. “He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress:” (Surah Al Rahman 55:19-20) “It is He Who has let free the two bodies of flowing water: One palatable and sweet, and the other salt and bitter; yet has He made a barrier between them, a partition that is forbidden to be passed.” (Surah Al Furqan 25:53) In the Arabic text the word ‘barzakh‘ means a barrier or a partition. This barrier, however, is not a physical partition. The Arabic word ‘maraja‘ literally means ‘they both meet and mix with each other’. Early commentators of the Quran were unable to explain the two opposite meanings for the bodies of water, i.e. they meet and mix, and at the same time there is a barrier between them. Modern Science has discovered that in the places where two different seas meet, there is a barrier between them. This barrier divides the two seas so that each sea has its own temperature, salinity and density. There is a slanted unseen water barrier between the two seas through which water from one sea passes to the other. But when the water from one sea enters the other sea, it loses its distinctive characteristic and becomes homogenized with the other water. In a way this barrier serves as a transitional homogenizing area for the two waters. These scientific phenomena mentioned in the Quran was also confirmed by Dr. William Hay, a wellknown marine Scientist and Professor of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado, U.S.A. This phenomena occurs in several places, including Egypt, where the river Nile flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

How to convert seawater into drinking water [Class 6, Chapter 14, Water, NCERT]

02:50
Clearly, I do not want you to get stuck on a deserted island. Also, thankfully, I was not stuck on a deserted island myself; thus finding a plastic container wasn't too difficult. This video was a contrived attempt to urge middle school students to think about evaporation and condensation. Please do not use this method to distill water if you are actually stuck on an island. The water you produce will not be drinkable. And if you are watching this on YouTube while stranded on an island, then please check Whatsapp to see if you can connect with a friend who can come rescue you. Finally, here are some reliable sources that offer advice on how to collect drinking water in case you do get stranded. 1) National Geographic suggests that if you get stranded on an island, then your best chance of getting drinking water is to "collect rainwater." It also suggests that you can turn seawater into drinking water by "digging a hole in the ground, putting a container at the bottom and surrounding it with wet leaves... then, put a piece of plastic, such as tarp, on top of the hole and weigh it down with rocks so water can collect and fall into the container." http://www.nationalgeographic.com.au/nature/how-to-survive-on-a-deserted-island.aspx 2) USGS recommends using a "solar-still" to convert seawater to drinking water by leveraging evaporation and condensation while using a life raft. https://water.usgs.gov/edu/drinkseawater.html

Freshwater & Saltwater Dividing Line

00:32
Where the fresh water of the Fraser River meets the salt water of the Strait of Georgia. This footage was taken on June 15th--one of the longest days of the year--at 8pm. The division line was located much further away from Sand Heads than usual because the Fraser River has a very high volume flow at this time of the year. The division line was actually closer to Port Lier pass than it was to Sand Heads. Modern science has discovered that in estuaries, where fresh (sweet) and salt-water meet, the situation is somewhat different from that found in places where two seas meet. It has been discovered that what distinguishes fresh water from salt water in estuaries is a "pycnocline zone with a marked density discontinuity separating the two layers." [Oceanography, Gross, p. 242. Also see Introductory Oceanography, Thurman, pp. 300-301.] This partition (zone of separation) has salinity different from both the fresh water and the salt water. [Oceanography, Gross, p. 244 and Introductory Oceanography, Thurman, pp. 300-301.] This phenomenon occurs in several places, including Egypt, where the river Nile flows into the Mediterranean Sea.

Survival Camping: #1 Turn Seawater into Fresh Water with Trash

15:41
The purpose of this adventure was to have fun while practicing survival skills. I carried an ultralight backpack, camped between the sand dunes and used trash on the beach to distill seawater. Two cups of drinking water per hour! Amazingly simple. Awesome fun. During the past several years I’ve been intersted in making portable stills for water distillation: simple approaches that could be used when hiking, especially in emergencies. The stills I’ve made have continuously improved, with the help for may people from the bushcraft and survival YouTube community. As my friend Darby (RiverBendSurvival) says: “The only way to master it, is to get in the dirt and do it.” Distillation removes biological, salt and heavy metal contamination from drinking water. Distallation is often the preferred method of water treatment in deveoping countries where water is heavily contaminated. Distillation is used for drinking water on ships. Ultralight Backpack: My fully loaded pack for this trip without food and water was 9.3 lb (4.2 kg): - Ozark Trail 28 L Atka Backpack 0.75 lb (0.34 kg) - Nylon Ground Cloth 5x7 ft, sight Al stakes, 0.70 lb (0.32 kg) - Sea to Summit Aeros Pillow 0.017 lb ( 0.08 kg) - Sterno Stove and Stanley 20 oz stainless steel pot (backup, not used), 1.37 lb (0.62kg) - Stainless Steel Funnel and coupling parts for still (could be replaced w/ aluminum foil)1.3 lb (0.59 kg) - Stainless Steel Water bottle (empty) 0.33 lb (0.15 kg) - Sol Escape Bivvy 0.53 lb (0.24 kg) - Ozark Trail Sun Wall Tarp 6x10 ft and Cordage 1.10 lb (0.50 kg) - Medical Kit, Compass, Map, Light, 0.29 lb (0.13 kg) - Aluminum Trowel, Paper, Bug Repellent, Lighter, 0.24 lb (0.11 kg) - Small Tripod 1.50 lb (0.68kg) - HeatKeep Down Jacket, Wool Cap and Scarf 1.15 lb (0.52 kg) ++++++++ - Food for 1-1/2 days: 1 lb ( 0.45 kg) - Pocket items: knife, flashlight, aluminum foil, tape, GoPro camera, Iphone 6+, keys, wallet, lighter, matches, battery charger for phone and camera - I carried no fresh water, but rather depended on seawater distillation Stay tuned for continuous improvement. Barrier between Sweet and Salty Waters | Miracles of the Quran | Subtitled

03:09
Help Fund this Series: https://www.launchgood.com/MiraclesofQuran BARRIER BETWEEN SWEET AND SALT WATERS Consider the following Qur’aanic verses: “He has let free the two bodies Of flowing water, Meeting together: Between them is a Barrier Which they do not transgress.” [Al-Qur’aan 55:19-20] In the Arabic text the word barzakh means a barrier or a partition. This barrier is not a physical partition. The Arabic word maraja literally means ‘they both meet and mix with each other’. Early commentators of the Qur’aan were unable to explain the two opposite meanings for the two bodies of water, i.e. they meet and mix, and at the same time, there is a barrier between them. Modern Science has discovered that in the places where two different seas meet, there is a barrier between them. This barrier divides the two seas so that each sea has its own temperature, salinity and density. Oceanologists are now in a better position to explain this verse. There is a slanted unseen water barrier between the two seas through which water from one sea passes to the other. But when the water from one sea enters the other sea, it loses its distinctive characteristic and becomes homogenized with the other water. In a way this barrier serves as a transitional homogenizing area for the two waters. This scientific phenomenon mentioned in the Qur’aan was also confirmed by Dr. William Hay who is a well-known marine scientist and Professor of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado, U.S.A. The Qur’aan mentions this phenomenon also in the following verse: “And made a separating bar between the two bodies Of flowing water?” [Al-Qur’aan 27:61] This phenomenon occurs in several places, including the divider between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean at Gibralter. But when the Qur’aan speaks about the divider between fresh and salt water, it mentions the existence of “a forbidding partition” with the barrier. “It is He Who has Let free the two bodies Of flowing water: One palatable and sweet, And the other salty and bitter; Yet has He Made a barrier between them, And a partition that is forbidden To be passed.” [Al-Qur’aan 25:53] Modern science has discovered that in estuaries, where fresh (sweet) and saltwater meet, the situation is somewhat different from that found in places where two seas meet. It has been discovered that what distinguishes fresh water from salt water in estuaries is a “pycnocline zone with a marked density discontinuity separating the two layers.” This partition (zone of separation) has salinity different from both the fresh water and the salt water. This phenomenon occurs in several places, including Egypt, where the river Nile flows into the Mediterranean Sea. A series exploring 1000s of Miracles of Quran that recent advancements has been able to decipher so far. Each of them might be possible by sheer human luck, but to get these 1000s of Miracles correctly in a single book that was not edited after it produced is truly another proof of divinity of Quran. ► Subscribe: https://bit.ly/2P3PvJY ► Learn Arabic The Easiest Way: https://bit.ly/2KKZjpD ► Become Patron: https://www.patreon.com/DarulArqam ► Give one time donation: https://bit.ly/2MEtBQX ► Help us translate our videos into other languages: https://bit.ly/2osd8Re Watch FreeQuranEducation in other Languages: ►Azerbaijani: https://bit.ly/2MIfcmD ► Urdu/Hindi: https://bit.ly/2gD86NO ►Turkish: https://bit.ly/2i4etdp ►Indonesian: https://bit.ly/2y4GSLd ►Pushto: https://bit.ly/2NG2QId ►French: https://bit.ly/2PViXD7

Why Sea Water Is Salty And River Water Is Sweet?

27 jun 2015 it is thought that the salt in the oceans stems from erosion of bedrock on continents, rivers that don't make it to the ocean are trapped in basins known as most big lakes with outlets are fed by fresh water, either from the 5 jul 2010 rivers and lakes are replenished with fresh rainwater, but oceans are a sort of dumping ground where water with accumulated salt keeps water flowing across the surface of the continents dissolves a little bit of material which gets washed into the rivers, which then flow into the sea 26 oct 2003 rain, which is fresh water, falls from clouds onto the land and finds its way into lakes and rivers, and also through the ground, back to the sea, 7 aug 2012 sea water contains not just salt but it is a complex solution of several salts are brought to the sea through many sources like rivers and streams which to compare the salinity of fresh water and sea water, it is said that sea 15 jan 2013 the picture probably was taken close to the estuary of a big river. A federally funded research effort to revolutionize water treatment has yielded an off-grid technology that uses energy from sunlight alone to turn salt water into fresh drinking water. The desalination system, which uses a combination of membrane distillation technology and light-harvesting nanophotonics, is the first major innovation from the Center for Nanotechnology Enabled Water Treatment (NEWT), a multi-institutional engineering research center based at Rice University. Richard Dawkins Public Lie About Quran, Fresh and Salt Water Exposed

03:51
Humanity discovered that salt water and fresh water do mix since cooking was "invented". However, an illiterate man living in a desert 1400 years ago told us that certain seas exist where fresh water and salt water don't mix. Richard Dawkins turned this to an outrageous lie about that illiterate man book, the Quran, without consulting any Muslim on the meaning of these verses. That illiterate man claimed this book to be from God, whether you want to follow God or follow Dawkins is your test. I hope you pass.

MTV: Khi nào nước biển trở nên ngọt? when seawater turns sweet [Pháp Luân Công]

07:14
Sweet Water Plant In Gwadar Sea Port By Economic Corridor & 2nd Highest Mountain K2 In World || CPEC

04:06
GWADAR: A desalination plant installed at the Gwadar port by China Oversees Port Holding Company was inaugurated on Monday by federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo. The plant will supply drinking water to Gwadar. The newly-installed desalination plant with the capacity of producing 254,000 gallons of clean drinking water had been completed by the Chinese firm in record time. Senator Bizenjo, who is also president of the National Party, said that 2018 would prove to be a good beginning for the people of Gwadar as they would witness massive development in Balochistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said the functioning of the desalination plant would reduce to some extent the shortage of drinking water in the city. People of Gwadar had been facing water shortage for the last many months and now they would get clean drinking water, he said. “The desalination plant is a true reflection of CPEC and Pakistan-China friendship and a gift for the people,” Mr Bizenjo said, adding that it was the result of the visionary thinking of the Gwadar Port Authority and China Overseas Port Holding Company chairmen. He expressed the hope that the water crisis in Gwadar would be resolved this year. He said that water supply from the Gwadar port would be cheaper than supply from the Mirani dam in Turbat. The minister later took a round of the plant where Chinese officials briefed him on the capacity of the plant. Earlier, Mr Bizenjo was received at the Gwadar airport by port and local administration officials. K2 : K2 (Urdu: کے ٹو ‬‎), also known as Mount Godwin-Austen or Chhogori (Balti and Urdu: چھوغوری‬‎), is the second highest mountain in the world, after Mount Everest (8,848 metres), at 8,611 metres (28,251 ft) above sea level. It is located on the China–Pakistan border between Baltistan, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan, and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous Countyof Xinjiang, China. K2 is the highest point of the Karakoram range and the highest point in both Pakistan and Xinjiang. K2 is known as the Savage Mountain due to the extreme difficulty of ascent. It has the second-highest fatality rate among the eight thousanders. With around 300 successful summits and 77 fatalities, about one person dies on the mountain for every four who summit. It is more difficult and hazardous to reach the peak of K2 from the Chinese side, so it is usually climbed from the Pakistani side. Unlike Annapurna, the mountain with the highest fatality-to-summit rate (191 summits and 61 fatalities), or the other eight thousanders, K2 has never been climbed during winter. Ascents have almost always been made in July and August (the warmest times of year); K2's more northern location makes it more susceptible to inclement and colder weather. Can we drink Seawater?

02:15
Is it a good idea to drink sea water if you're stranded on a desert coastline and facing dehydration? Find the answer in this video! The answer is based on the concept of Osmosis in which the molecules of a solvent tend to pass through a semi permeable membrane from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one. ► Production Team Creator - Omkar Bhagat http://fb.com/omkarbhagat Narration - Haley Anne Chamberlain Nelson http://youtube.com/untamedscience ► Website and Social Links Twitter - http://twitter.com/thecuriousenggr Facebook - http://fb.com/thecuriousengineer Google+ - http://gplus.to/omkar4 Website - http://thecuriousengineer.org ► Attribution and Credits | Copyright Stuff Brightly Fancy Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1200071 Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/
