ROBLOX is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on ROBLOX is designed and constructed by members of the community. ROBLOX is designed for 8 to 18 year olds, but it is open to people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore ROBLOX — interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything — be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, ROBLOX members can earn specialty badges as well as ROBLOX dollars (“ROBUX”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms. ► Music Credits: Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... Saving Changes to Your Photographs in Lightroom

10:21
In this episode of The Complete Picture on Adobe TV, Julieanne Kost explains how changes made to photographs are saved automatically to the Lightroom Catalog. She also shows how to use both the “Save Metadata to Files” command as well as the “Automatically write changes to XMP” Catalog Setting to push changes made to photographs from the catalog into individual files (or sidecar files) so that they can be read and utilized within additional applications such as Adobe Bridge.

The big problem with how we pick juries

08:30
A legal loophole makes juries less diverse. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Four years after the shooting death of Laquan McDonald, the police officer, Jason Van Dyke, faced his day in court. But in a trial where race became central to the case, there’s only one black person on the jury. And that’s in a county where nearly a quarter of people are black. How did this happen? In jury selection, racial discrimination has historically been tricky. Discrimination isn’t allowed in jury selection, thanks to what’s called a “Batson challenge.” But the problem is — Batson has been widely regarded as a failure at keeping racism out of the jury box. Watch the video above to find out why that is, and why it complicates the prospect of a fair trial by jury. Edit the Home Page of Your Website - In your Magento admin panel, click on the Content menu on the left-hand side followed by Pages. - Next, choose Edit from the Select drop-down box located to the right of the Home Page. - Under the Page Information on the left-hand side, click on the Content tab. - Replace the piece of text in the text box that reads CMS homepage content goes here with your own custom text. - Then click on the menu button, which says Insert Widget when hovered upon, in the top left-hand corner so that you can add products to your website’s home page using a Magento widget. Step 2. Set up a Widget - From the drop-down box labelled Widget Type, choose Catalog Products List. - Type Featured Products in the Title field, leave Display Page Control to No, and then put a value in the field labelled Number of Products to Display. - Skip the Template option as this widget only offers one template type called Products Grid Template. You can also leave the Cache Lifetime blank. - The Conditions option, meanwhile, allows you to restrict the products that appear on your home page using any of the product attributes in your Magento system. - Skip this option for now then click on Insert Widget on the right-hand side. - There in the text box in your Home Page settings, you can now see the widget that you set up. - Click on Save and Continue Edit in the top right-hand corner then head over to the front-end of your website. - Reload your home page, and you now see many products where once there was none. Step 3. Clear the Caches - Go to the System menu on the left-hand side then click on Cache Management. - Choose Select All from the drop-down box on the left-hand side then press Submit. - Go back to your website and refresh it, and you should be able to see the products on your screen. Step 4. Edit the Widget - Go back to the Home Page settings in your Magento system. - Double-click on the icon in the text box then enter a smaller number in the field that’s labelled Number of Products to Display. - Click on Insert Widget on the right-hand side and then press Save and Continue Edit at the top right. - Clear out the caches, refresh the home page of your website, and you see fewer products now. Step 5. Add a New Widget - Go back to the Home Page settings in your system then go a couple of spaces below the widget in the text box. - Click on the icon which, when hovered upon, says Insert Widget in the top left-hand corner. - Choose Catalog Products List from the drop-down selections for Widget Type, and then enter Special Offers in the Title field. - This time set Display Page Control to Yes then enter a number in the field labelled Number of Products per Page. - In the field labelled Number of Products to Display, enter the total number of products that you want to show on your site. - If you only want to show products under a specific category, click on the green plus (+) button, and then choose Category from the drop-down menu. - Next, click on the ellipses following the words Category is then click on the blue icon between the box and the green tick. - Tick the categories that are assigned to the products that you want to add to your home page. - Once that’s done, click on Insert Widget on the right-hand side, and then press Save and Continue Edit at the top right. How zip codes helped organize America

03:49
Zip codes, explained. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Zip codes were invented in 1963 to help the United States Postal Service deal with huge increases in mail volume. The Zone Improvement Plan, or “ZIP” code system of addressing, organized mail delivery by dividing the country into 10 regions and assigning five digits increasing in specificity: from region to large sorting centers to smaller post offices. To promote the new system, the USPS released publicity materials featuring Mr. Zip, a cartoon character, and a song about zip codes from a band called The Swingin’ Six. As the nation grew, the USPS updated zip codes by adding a four-digit suffix in 1983. The new suffix corresponds to specific destinations, such as one side of a street or a certain floor of an office building. Now, geocoding technology has created the possibility of even more specific addressing. To learn more, check out "The Untold Story of the ZIP Code": http://postalmuseum.si.edu/research/pdfs/ZIP_Code_rarc-wp-13-006.pdf and this in-depth podcast from Surprisingly Awesome: https://gimletmedia.com/episode/21-postal-addresses/ Vox.com is a news website that helps you cut through the noise and understand what's really driving the events in the headlines. Applications Platform Foundation: Exercise 1 - Chapters 1 to 3 | Creating Applications and Objects

06:15
For more information on Applications Platform visit: https://www.codelessplatforms.com/community/resources/how-to-video-library/ Application Foundation Exercise: Creating an Application, objects, fields and adding Catalog records. Video 1 Welcome to the Applications Platform training videos from Codeless Platforms. Here are the objectives and approximate running time for this video. Before we begin, we need to describe some of the common ‘elements that are the foundation for an application. We have… • Applications, which are the overall containers • Objects which are containers for records of the same type, such as orders and Customers. • Fields, that store individual pieces of data, such as name or address • Relationships specify how records can be related to one another. For example many to many, one to many, many to one, one to one • Pages; expose data and provide the ability to manipulate records. • Menus which are the navigational controls associated with pages. • Portals are independent interfaces that allow users to interact with all or part of an application. • And finally the Calendar. Now that we have gained an understanding of the primary elements in Applications Platform, We will create the underlying structure for an eShop. Here is a basic structure diagram, so we can see the objects that the app will consist of. Now we are ready to create our own Application. Let’s begin by clicking administration, new application and then choose the “let me build it my way” option. Give it a name and a description. And click save. We now have a blank application, let’s start building the objects. Starting with the catalog. Go to the sidebar, click new menu, and we want to create ‘a new object with tab’. Click create and now we’ll see the ‘new object page’. We will call it “Catalog Item”. Now accept the default values for the rest of the fields and select “Do you want to create a new Tab for this object now?”. Notice the “integration name” field has been automatically populated, we’ll need to reference this later. Click save, and we now have the ‘Tab: New Tab’ page with some new options. Leave the tab name and give it a description. Importantly we must check that “Classic Guitars” has been selected, under the “Add to Applications” section. And then click save. Now that we have created the Catalog Item Object, lets add the related fields. With the catalog item tab selected, click the down arrow next to its title, and select ’Object Definition’. A new page will display, where all the core component of the objects is shown. On the top bar click ‘fields’ and then “new field” button. In the field type page, we’ll choose the “text” option and click next. I’ll name this field “SKU” and give it a default size of 20 and a length of 30. Scroll down to the advanced fields and ensure these options are selected. In the ‘Field-Level Help’ section, we will write a description and click save. We now have the “add to pages and views” screen, lets add it to our eshop by selecting, ‘all catalog items’ and then click save. We’ll repeat this same process, so we can add a MSRP field. Click the “New Field” Button. And Select “Currency” Field type, then next. We’ll give the field the name “MSRP” with a default size of “16”. Now we’ll scroll down and select “Always require a value in this field in order to save a record”. Give it a Description… And click save. On the “Add to Pages and Views” screen, ensure to select “All Catalog Items”. And click Save. Click ‘return to application’ at the top right of the page to view your application. You can now see the SKU and MSRP fields, that we have created within the catalog items object. Ok, lets populate the Catalog. From the main Classic Guitars application screen, click the “Catalog Item” button to create a new record. Let’s input a “Fender Telecaster 1959”. With the following SKU and MSRP. Now we will click “Save & New” to create another catalog item record. Put in another guitar, this time a “Gibson Les Paul 1975”. With this SKU, and MSRP. Click “Save & new” again for the last record. Enter “Gretsch White Falcon”. With the following details. Let’s click the save button to return to our Catalog. We can now see the three records we have just added. And that’s it for this video, we’ve created the beginnings of an application with an object and fields and populated our catalog. In the next video, we’ll be creating the associated inventory account and adding records.

Added guitarist Isaac Hanson, “This year is not only about the two decades of music, it’s about celebrating the incredible community of fans who have been with us, singing along year after year”. Besides HANSON’s 25th anniversary, 2017 is also the 20th anniversary of their debut release Middle Of Nowhere, lead by the iconic single “Mmmbop”, which introduced the group to the world. Casio fx-9750GII - Computing the Binomial Coefficient (n choose x)

01:20
Compute a binomial coefficient on a Casio 9750 graphing calculator (http://amzn.to/1AVxr78). For more free statistics resources, visit http://www.openintro.org. Also, check out our free intro statistics textbooks at http://www.openintro.org/stat/textbook.php. - - - Approximate script: Here's how to compute a binomial coefficient n choose x on a Casio 9750 graphing calculator. I'm going to start with a fast overview, and then I'll go the steps again more slowly: 1. First, I go to the Run-Mat section, 2. then I enter in a value for n, 3. then I go to Catalog and choose the bolded C, and 4. finally I enter in a value for x. Alright, if you didn't catch all that, here's a fuller description. First I go to Run-Mat by hitting Menu and then either hitting 1 or navigating over to the Run-Mat option. In my example, I'm going to compute 7 choose 4. First, I type in the value for n, where here n = 7. Next, I'll go to Catalog, which is in the yellow text. To get there, I first hit Shift and then 4. Next, I want to go to the choose option, which is a bold capital C. To get there, I can navigate down... or since hitting down takes a long time, I can just hit the button corresponding to C to hop down to C in the list. And there, the second option shown here is the bold capital C, which is what I select and hit execute. Now I need to enter x, which in this example is 4, and then I hit Execute and get the answer of 35. If you liked this video, give it a thumbs up below and subscribe. Thanks for watching.

How to Add Metadata to Photos in Lightroom

14:22
I Guarantee I Can Teach You to Master Photoshop. Learn How: https://phlearn.com/aaronwillteachyou Alright photographers, it's time to talk about using protection...copyright protection that is! Learn how to add metadata to photos in Lightroom! Section 1: What is Metadata? Metadata is information that is stored inside of an image file. It's not visible when looking at a photo, but it includes information about when and how that photo was taken. You can ADD metadata to images to protect them with copyright information. If anyone downloads your image from online, your name will be forever stuck inside of that image. HA! To see an example of what this looks like, right click on a photo and select "Get Info." You can open up the "More Info" tab and see things like the aperture and shutter speed that the photo was taken at! Metadata can be stored in multiple file formats: JPEG, RAW, DNG, TIFF, and PS files all include metadata. Section 2: How to Add Metadata First we add copyright information by going to the Metadata tab and selecting Preset - Edit Presets. Under the IPTC copyright section, include: Copyright - Copyright symbol, Your name, All Rights Reserved Copyright Status - Copyrighted Rights Usage Terms - All Rights Reserved, No Reproduction Without Prior Permission Copyright Info URL - Your website Now, you can add the creator information. Under IPTC Creator, include (at the very least): Creator - Your name Creator City - Your city Creator Email - Your email Creator Website - Your website Lastly, enter this information into the IPTC Status Section: Credit Line - Your name, Your Company Source - Your name That's it! Remember, these are the bare minimums in terms of information. It's always better to have too much than not enough. Section 3: Creating & Syncing Presets To save all of this information that you just typed in (because who wants to do that over and over), go up to the top of your Edit Metadata Presets window and select "Save Current Settings as New Preset." You can just name the Preset as your own name, or however you will remember it. To apply that to all of you photos, select one and then change the Preset Drop Down to the one you just made! Then, Press "Sync Metadata" and it will apply it to every one of your images. Section 4: Syncing During Import Click on "Import" at the bottom left of Lightroom. Then select the desired images. Now, select your new preset by opening the "Apply During Import" tab and selecting it from the Metadata drop down menu. You can also create a preset for this process (for the extra lazy ones). At the bottom of the screen there will be an Import Preset box; select "Save Current Settings as new Preset..." from the drop down menu. Now, you can name that preset and use it in the future! Section 5: Keywords and Cataloging Keywords are another type of metadata! These can be added in Lightroom so that it is easier to search for a specific kind of image. It's great for efficient organization! Under the Keywording tab, you can type in any words you associate with your images. To apply those keywords to ALL of your photos, Shift + Click on all of the images. Then, You can click on the individual words in the "Keyword Set" Box. This will apply those words to all of your images. Section 6: Checking Online So, you've entered in all of this data but how do you know that it's really there? Well, if you'd like to check beyond Lightroom or Finder, we have found just the thing for you. Open a web browser and go to "Metapicz.com." You can upload your files directly to this site and it will display all of the metadata held within that image! Have fun and use protection!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for watching Phlearn! What makes a truly great logo

04:45
Here's how a simple mark ends up meaning something big as a great logo. Joe Posner, and Michael Bierut (designer of the Hillary Clinton logo) explain. For more from Michael Bierut on graphic design, check out his book "How to use graphic design to sell things, explain things, make things look better, make people laugh, cry, and (every once in a while) change the world": http://www.amazon.com/How-Michael-Bierut/dp/0062413902 Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO About once a month, there's a new logo to fight about on the internet. The biggest one in recent memory was the highly controversial Hillary Clinton logo, which did not escape scrutiny from Vox.com either. But as a designer/filmmaker, something about these repeated discussions struck me as missing the point on what makes logos tick. It often has little to do with the subjective musings. So I called up Michael Bierut, the designer of that Hillary Clinton logo and countless others. He sat down with me and helped explain the elements of a great logo in the video above. How to set up your EL-SGD 43 and 70-ATP

04:25
Subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnPP... Download our Data Logger catalog for free: https://www.lascarelectronics.com/data-brochures/ Add us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lascarelectr... Follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/lascarlog In this video i will show you how to set up your EL-SGD 43-ATP. The same procedure applies to the EL-SGD 70-ATP. Firstly, power up your device and a welcome screen will appear. Click next to begin and choose the number of channels you would like to use; 1, 2, 3 or 4. You can now select to measure temperature in °C or °F and choose how you would like the unit to start logging. There are three options available - ‘push to start’ where logging is activated by pushing a button on-screen; ‘immediate start’ where the unit starts logging as soon as programming is complete; and ‘delayed start’, where you choose a time and date in the future for logging to begin. I will setup the logger using push to start. You can choose a custom logging rate, anywhere from 15 seconds to 12 hours by using the up and down toggles. There are also preset logging rates available by selecting the PRESETS button. Add both High and Low alarms to your channel if you wish, and choose whether the alarms should HOLD in alarm or switch off once the temperature is back in an acceptable range. Selecting offset calibration will let you enter an offset for the probe, allowing for some calibration. The live temperature with this offset will be shown. Remember to click SAVE to apply this offset. If you have selected more than one channel, you will now be asked to go through the same steps of choosing a logging rate, alarms and offset for the other channels before being asked to select and confirm a 4-digit pin code to complete programming. You will now be on the main logging screen where you can see live data for all channels. If you have chosen push to start you will need to click the INFO button which will take you to the channel information screen. Here you can select PLAY to start the channel logging or if you have more than one channel and you wish to start them all simultaneously, you can go to SETTINGS and select ‘start logging all channels’. Press back to return to the live data screen. If any of the channels have gone into alarm, the live reading will be shown against a red background and a logged alarm will be shown by the log info below changing to red. Active logging on any channel is denoted by the LOG icon in the top right of the window. From here or the channel info screen you can view a graph of the data by selecting the GRAPH button. The channel info screen also displays the lowest and highest temperature logged, the total number of logs and the session start time and date. Holding the ‘low’ and ‘high’ fields will display the relevant alarms set, if any and holding the ‘number of readings’ field will display the logging rate. The high and low logged values can be reset via the RESET button and alarms can be cleared by pressing the alarm icon. From here you can also go to the settings screen where you can ‘Stop Logging’ on all channels, change your pin, the power save settings or perform a factory reset. All of these additional information screens will automatically revert back to your live data after 1 minute of inactivity. The logger will store all of your logging sessions, which can be viewed at a later date by downloading to your computer. This process will be covered in a separate video. Today we have walked through the use of the standard data logging app supplied with the SGD 43 and 70-ATP. If you are familiar with our PanelPilotACE Design Studio software, you can also create your own custom logging apps. How To Design A Brochure In Adobe Photoshop | Solopress Tutorial

11:33
Learn how to design a brochure in Adobe Photoshop with our expert, easy-to-follow video tutorial... This video is part of our Adobe Creative series of design tutorials. Please make sure to subscribe to the Solopress YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/solopress) so you don't miss out on future guides! Please visit our blog (http://blog.solopress.com) for a more detailed description on all the steps in this video. How To Design A Brochure In Photoshop On the Solopress website (http://www.solopress.com), in the Free Artwork 'Templates' section under A4 Letterheads, click and download the (PS) Photoshop Template 297mm by 210mm. Open up the Photoshop file. We have created a guide layer that will help you to design your brochure - this includes the Bleed Area, Trim and Safe Area. Remember to use high-resolution images (300dpi) for the best results. Create a new guide by clicking and dragging on the vertical and horizontal Ruler (if your Ruler does not appear in Photoshop press Command + R). Create 4 new guides on the safe area line. Page 1 (Front Page/Cover) In the Layers window hide the Guide Layer Only refer to this layer to check your design fits within the Safe Area and make sure any colouring or images extends beyond the Bleed Area. To import your background in the top menu heading go to File, Place Embedded, locate your file(s) and select Place. Adjust the size and position. Select the Tick to confirm the action. To create the background image, import and adjust the size. In the top menu heading, go to Layers, New Adjustment Layer and select Hue & Saturation. A properties panel will appear, this is where you can adjust the Hue, Saturation and Lightness. You can also Colourise the image. Select the Colourise option, and pull down the Saturation to 11. Change the Lightness to -21 and adjust the hue to 210. Adjust your settings to suit your design; we have chosen a greyish blue, we want to keep the design simple so it does not stand out. Keep It Simple - With all the latest design trends having a simple and minimal design with set themed colours will have your brochure looking smart and professional. Now save your design and begin on the next page. Select the rectangle tool, drag and create a header for your text. (We have preselected the rectangle colour, to do this; make sure the rectangle tool is selected and in the top menu options will appear for you to change the colour). In the Layer window, select the Opacity and set it to 80%, the rectangle will now become slightly transparent. Select the text tool and change the font setting in the top menu. Type the Brochure Name, and adjust the position and size of the text, adjust the header box too if needed. We will now import our logo to the front cover. Using the same steps as before, place and embed the logo and adjust the size and positioning. We have positioned our logo in the top right hand corner. We will now duplicate the page, this helps when you are creating a similar image, all the layers will be as they were in the previous image. Remember to save your document by going to the top menu, File Save as, and save the document in your desired location. Select all the layers in the Layer Window and in the top menu, go to Layer and select Duplicate Layers. A pop window will appear asking where you want to move the layers. Under the Document, Select New, Name the new Page and select OK. Page 2 Apply the same set up guides as before; hide the all the extra layers by clicking off Eye icon in the Layer Window. Import your background (we have chosen a solid colour for this page). In the layers window, turn on the Rectangle Layer. Using the text tool, write your information within the orange box and adjust the font's size and position. The text we are using is called Lorem Ipsum. Loren Ipsum is a filler text used to demonstrate the graphic allowing viewers to focus on graphic aspects such as font, typography and page layout. Save and duplicate the image creating a new page. Pages 3 and beyond... Repeat these procedures until you have created all the pages in your brochure. Another useful tip: Try having all or most of your information ready before starting the brochure, this will help when choosing the font size and spacing. If you have any comments or questions regarding designing a brochure, please use the comments section below and we'll do our very best to answer your queries. http://www.solopress.com/brochures

How a case gets to the US Supreme Court

05:10
The only way is by surviving "the rule of four". Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Vox.com is a news website that helps you cut through the noise and understand what's really driving the events in the headlines. Check out http://www.vox.com to get up to speed on everything from Kurdistan to the Kim Kardashian app. Most often, the US Supreme Court grants or denies petitions to hear a case after reviewing a written request called a "petition for writ of certiorari". Also called "the writ of cert", it is reviewed by the Justices and granting the petition depends on whether or not it passes "the rule of four". If it does, the case is probably one of three types: a case of national importance, a case in which a lower court decision has invalidated federal law, or a case involving a split decision in lower courts. Famously, Bush v. Gore was an example of national importance, Gonzales v. Raich was a case in which a lower court invalidated federal law, and Obergefell v. Hodges was selected by the Court in order to resolve a circuit split decision. By following this protocol of case selection, the Court has been designed to be reactive to legislative decisions made in other branches of government, as opposed to an active legislative body that seeks to create and institute new laws. Overall, the result of this design is a Court that prioritizes case selections that will enable them to enforce the uniformity of federal law throughout the country. Keywords vs Subjects

05:02
Keywords vs. Subject Headings Video Transcript What are keywords and subject headings? Keywords are simple search words that you use to search web search engines. You can also begin your search in the library catalog or article database by using keywords appropriate for your topic. For example, “car.” Pay attention to black bubbles and arrows on screen shots. A screen shot of the library catalog page with a search box. A black bubble circles the Keyword as a search option and the search box is empty. A screen shot of the library catalog. A black bubble circles the Keyword as a search option and the word “car” is in the search box. A screen shot of the search results with the word “car.” A black bubble circles the number of keywords results. The page says 1-50 of 924 results. Below is the first page of titles retrieved. What are “car” synonyms or words related to it? - Automobile - Vehicle - Auto If you are already familiar with the Boolean operators, you may search the library catalog or article database with the following keywords: “car OR automobile OR vehicle OR auto”. If you are not familiar with the Boolean operators, find the video “Boolean and Beyond”in the library’s How-To videos. A screen shot with the results of searching car OR automobile OR vehicle OR auto inside the black bubble. A black bubble circles the number of keywords results. It says 1-50 of 2555 with a list of titles retrieved. OK, how about subject headings? Remember you are still in the catalog and just found the titles by using the word “car”? A black arrow points to the first title “Car” on a screen shot. Click the title “Car” where the arrow is pointing. Below is the same screen shot. Attention: This is how this title’s record looks inside; however, to get to the subject headings, you have to scroll down! Below is the screen shot of the title “Car” with the catalog record. On the bottom of the record’s page are the subject headings. A screen shot with the low part of the catalog record where a black arrow is pointing to the subject headings. What are they for? Subject headings are more accurate descriptors in the library catalog or article database and will retrieve you the most accurate results. If you select the subject heading “Automobiles-Social Aspects,” you will be transferred to this page and will find out that the library has a certain number of titles. Hint: look to the right. A screen shot with the subject heading “automobiles.” A black arrow is pointing toward “Automobiles-Social aspects” and the number of titles for this subject heading is ten. How do subject headings work in article databases? Databases also have subject headings and they may be different from the subject headings in the library catalog. On the next to slides are examples of subject headings from the database Academic Search Complete. There they are called Subject Terms! A screen shot from the Academic Search Complete database with a black arrow pointing toward subject terms. The first two search boxes have search words “car” and “industry” respectively. A screen shot from the Academic Search Complete with a black arrow pointing to Subject Terms on the blue strip above the search boxes. Please Remember! You can start your search with keywords and continue with subject headings. The more you practice searching the library catalog and library databases, the more experienced you will become. Good luck with your searching! You can always rely librarian’s help. Just use our ask-a-librarian service. http://uscupstate.libguides.com/ask
