This is the Fraser River Delta just in front of Vancouver BC Canada, this is where sea water meets fresh water. The river water from Fraser River, flowing into the ocean water of the Strait of Georgia. Modern Science has discovered that in the places where two different bodies meet, there is a barrier between them. This barrier creates a noticeable line, as each water body has its own temperature, salinity, and density. If you go on google earth and look up Fraser River or Sea Island which is an airport right at the water edge, you will see this boundary line stretching for miles. Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD] The Deep sea creature refers to organisms that live below the photic zone of the ocean. These creatures must survive in extremely harsh conditions, such as hundreds of bars of pressure, small amounts of oxygen, very little food, no sunlight, and constant, extreme cold. Most creatures have to depend on food floating down from above. These creatures live in very demanding environments, such as the abyssal or hadal zones, which, being thousands of meters below the surface, are almost completely devoid of light. The water is between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius and has low oxygen levels. Due to the depth, the pressure is between 20 and 1,000 bars. Creatures that live hundreds or even thousands of meters deep in the ocean have adapted to the high pressure, lack of light, and other factors. The depths of the ocean are festooned with the most nightmarish creatures imaginable. You might think you’re safe, because these critters live thousands of feet down in a cold dark abyss, but the vampire squid, which looks like a nightmare umbrella, and the frilled shark—a literal living fossil—will live on in the recesses of your mind long after you’ve clicked away. Enjoy these deep sea horrors and try to have a relaxing day afterward. ► NOTE : I'm a big fan of National Geographic and I just collect the best parts of National Geographic. I do not make money from National Geographic's Video. Thanks You very much

Most of us adore beach resorts and go to one of the large saltwater bodies at least once a year. However, we shouldn’t forget that the sea is as attractive as it is wayward. We at Bright Side wondered how a person who happened to be in the open sea should behave. It turns out there are several rules that aren’t at all difficult to remember. Despair is your most dangerous enemy. Don’t give up hope of being saved. There are many stories of people who were found in the open sea months after their disappearance. For instance, 25-year-old sailor Poon Lim, who worked on a British merchant ship, survived alone 133 days in the open sea. After a shipwreck, he managed to find a raft with fresh water, cookies, flares, and a flashlight. Every day, Lim ate only 2 cookies and made 3 sips of water. To avoid muscle atrophy, he even floated around the raft twice a day. As you can see, human possibilities are endless. The main thing is to keep calm and hope for the best. TIMESTAMPS Calm down 0:35 Choose the right swimming style 0:57 Find something that floats 1:37 Take care of clothes 1:55 Decide what you’ll eat 2:16 Provide yourself with liquid 3:01 Save yourself properly 4:02 Don’t lose hope 5:06 SUMMARY: - Panic definitely won’t help you. It can cloud your judgment and make you lose the rhythm of breathing. Therefore, the first thing you should do is to calm down. - The style of swimming you choose determines how long your strength will last. In calm water, it’s better to swim on your back. If waves splash around you, it’s better to swim on your belly. - If you’re in the open sea as a result of a shipwreck or an airplane water landing, there must be plenty of things around you that perfectly keep afloat. It will be even better if it’s a boat or a raft with which ships are equipped. - Remember that open sunlight can be extremely dangerous. So don’t remove your clothes — they’ll protect you from the sun. - If you have rations, divide them into small daily portions. This will make them last for a long time, and you won’t have problems with digestion. - Try to fish even if you have stores of food. After all, fish contain some liquid. - You have to consume the liquid constantly but never drink seawater. - Try to ensure that you always have a couple of empty containers left for collecting rainwater. According to studies, drinking untreated rainwater is safe for your health. - • If you found fluorescein, dissolve it in the water when you see an airplane or ship. It forms a bright spot around you which can be easily seen from the air and from afar. Whatever lives in the sea nowadays can't be compared with the huge monsters that dominated the depths millions of years ago. And by “monsters” we mean long-extinct marine reptiles and dinosaurs. Since many people are better acquainted with the land-roaming giants of the past, this video will open your eyes to those that ruled the waters! Did you know, for example, that pliosauruses were real giants, with the largest species weighing more than 30 tons and growing up to 40 feet long? Also, this animal had an incredibly strong bite. In fact, it was four times more powerful than that of the mighty T-rex! TIMESTAMPS: Pliosaurus 1:14 Kronosaurus 2:15 Nothosaurus 3:07 Styxosaurus 4:10 Albertonectes 5:15 Thalassomedon 6:16 Tylosaurus 7:23 Shonisaurus 8:07 Mosasaurus 9:00 Shastasaurus 9:53 #dinosaurs #prehistoricanimals #seacreatures Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The largest Kronosaurus ever found was 34 feet long from snout to tail and likely weighed about 12 tons. This marine reptile’s teeth weren't really deadly; they were only a few inches long and not all that sharp. - . Some experts state that Nothosauruses could snap their long heads sideways to catch a passing fish, kinda like how a crocodile does. Surprisingly, researchers say that these reptiles shared a lot of similar features with the modern sea lion. - The Styxosaurus belonged to the Plesiosaur family and lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, around 85 to 70 million years ago. Styxosauruses were about 35 feet in length, but over 16 feet of that consisted just of their long snake-like neck! They had a comparatively small body and weighed approximately 4 tons. - The Albertonectes was another representative of the Plesiosaur family, meaning that this marine reptile had a small head on an incredibly long neck and large flipper-like limbs that helped it move through the water. These creatures occupied the seas around North America 76 to 70 million years ago. - Thalassomedon means “sea lord” in ancient Greek, and there's a pretty good reason behind this name. These representatives of the Plesiosaur family were huge predators that could reach 40 feet in length. That’s about as big as 4-story building! - The Tylosaurus belonged to the Mosasaur family. It dominated the shallow seas of North America about 85 to 80 million years ago. This was an enormous predator, with the biggest representatives reaching 45 feet in length. - The Shonisaurus lived on our planet during the Late Triassic Period, approximately 215 million years ago. The remains of this creature were first discovered in Nevada in 1920, not far from the Shoshone Mountains. This prehistoric reptile resembled a huge chubby dolphin. - The Mosasaurus is a truly gigantic predator that dominated the seas all over the world about 66 million years ago. According to fossil evidence, some specimens could be more than 50 feet in length. This fact makes the Mosasaurus the biggest marine carnivore of its time. - The Shastasaurus is the biggest marine reptile that has ever existed. These predators lived during the Late Triassic Period about 210 million years ago. The ocean is vast and full of things we as humans have yet to discover. Put on your scuba suits, this one’s one’s going to be quite the ride. Hopefully, strange noises, odd creatures, and mysterious structures don’t scare you. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 5. Colossal Squid Remember that small vampire squid? Yeah, take that and then make it like a million times bigger. Okay, not a million, but from this picture of one dried up on the shore, you understand. No to be confused with the giant squid, the colossal squid differs in that their tentacles have little hooks on them. They’re similar in length, though colossal squid are said to be stouter and heavier. These rare and terrifying creatures are a result of a phenomenon that is known as abyssal gigantism, where invertebrates in the deep sea are much larger in size so as to adapt to the smaller portions of food sources. Colossal squid have been seen to grow up to 46 ft long, weighing up to 1,650 pounds. Also, their eyes are said to be the biggest in the whole of the animal kingdom, their eyeballs measuring up to 11 inches in diameter. 4. USS Saratoga Admittedly, this photo looks terrifying, though do not be alarmed too much by the sight of it. What you see before you is the anchor hawse hole that was once part of the USS Saratoga. This gigantic artifact was discovered in the Bikini Atoll in Micronesia, were many a seacraft have met their demise. The anchor hawse hole has been sunken in the water for so long that it was naturally taken over by the aquatic environment, turning into something that is initially unrecognizable. 3. Mariana Trench Mystery Shark Oh, so you thought that that great white shark cannibal was the most of your worries as far as sharks go? Well think again, because something even more mysterious than that 16 foot shark eating shark is the Mariana Trench Mystery Shark. Footage of this elusive shark was apparently captured by marine biologists from Japan. The footage was concluded to have been taken from Suruga Bay in Japan. To give you some context, here’s how an average person measures up to more common sharks. And that biggest one is the mystery shark. There’s even been speculation that this shark may in fact be a megalodon, a species that’s said to have been extinct for millions of years. 2. The Bloop It might not be the most epic or mysterious sounding of titles, but its nomenclature doesn’t make it any less intriguing once you hear what The Bloop is. In the year 1997, a bloop, or low frequency underwater sound was detected in the south Pacific Ocean by the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The sound was said to be powerful, at and was at first likened to the sound icequakes that take place in icebergs make. About 5 years later, it was then said to be more similar to a marine animal--though this was again disputed and the ice theory was considered to be conclusive. But within the scramble to figure out what the sound was, there were people saying perhaps == was real after all. Underwater Waterfall This is definitely a real picture of a real place--not something out of a fantasy land. This is the underwater waterfall located in the Denmark Strait. It is the largest underwater waterfall in the world, and is also known as the Denmark Strait Cataract or the North Atlantic Circulation Pump. It can be found on the western side of the strait located in the Atlantic Ocean and is quite the sight to see indeed. It’s as if the earth was opened and is swallowing the surface world whole--which is a nice thought. The waterfall measures up to 11,500 ft deep and was formed due to varying temperatures between the eastern and western water masses. The flow rate is over 175 million cubic ft per second and is said to be the most voluminous water fall in the world.

numerous vessels claim to have witnessed the massive humanoid-beings rise from the depths of the ocean. These mysterious creatures, are called Ningen which translates as “human” in Japanese. The first time this giant humanoid sea creature was seen, was by a Japanese research vessel, off the coast of Antarctica in the 1990s. According to witnesses, there are creatures who have a human-like shape, often with legs, arms, and even five-fingered hands. Sometimes they are described with fins or a large tail like that of mermaids. 💜 Subscribe and like if you enjoyed the video. The Dead Sea is 10 times saltier than the ocean so I wanted to see whether an iPhone 7 can survive 24 hours in it! FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/techrax TWITTER: https://twitter.com/techrax INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/techrax

The Dead Sea (Hebrew: יָם הַמֶּלַח, Yam ha-Melah, "Sea of Salt", also Hebrew: יָם הַמָּוֶת, Yam ha-Mavet, "The Sea of Death", and Arabic: البحر الميت About this sound Al-Bahr al-Mayyit (help·info)), also called the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and Palestine to the west. Its surface and shores are 429 metres (1,407 ft) below sea level, Earth's lowest elevation on land. The Dead Sea is 304 m (997 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. With 34.2% salinity (in 2011), it is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean, and one of the world's saltiest bodies of water. This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which plants and animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Dead Sea is 50 kilometers (31 mi) long and 15 kilometers (9 mi) wide at its widest point. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley and its main tributary is the Jordan River. The Dead Sea water has a density of 1.24 kg/liter, which makes swimming similar to floating. Biblical period- Dwelling in caves near the Dead Sea is recorded in the Hebrew Bible as having taken place before the Israelites came to Canaan, and extensively at the time of King David. Just northwest of the Dead Sea is Jericho. Somewhere, perhaps on the southeastern shore, would be the cities mentioned in the Book of Genesis which were said to have been destroyed in the time of Abraham: Sodom and Gomorra (Genesis 18) and the three other "Cities of the Plain", Admah, Zeboim and Zoar (Deuteronomy 29:23). Zoar escaped destruction when Abraham's nephew Lot escaped to Zoar from Sodom (Genesis 19:21-22). Before the destruction, the Dead Sea was a valley full of natural tar pits, which was called the vale of Siddim. King David was said to have hidden from Saul at Ein Gedi nearby. In Ezekiel 47:8-9 there is a specific prophecy that the sea will ".. be healed and made fresh", becoming a normal lake capable of supporting marine life. A similar prophecy is stated in Zechariah 14:8, which says that "Living waters will go out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea (likely the Dead Sea) and half to the western sea (the Mediterranean)..." Greek and Roman period- Aristotle wrote about the remarkable waters. The Nabateans and others discovered the value of the globs of natural asphalt that constantly floated to the surface where they could be harvested with nets. The Egyptians were steady customers, as they used asphalt in the embalming process that created mummies. The Ancient Romans knew the Dead Sea as "Palus Asphaltites" (Asphalt Lake). King Herod the Great built or rebuilt several fortresses and palaces on the western bank of the Dead Sea. The most famous was Masada, where in 70 CE a small group of Jewish zealots fled after the fall of the destruction of the Second Temple. The zealots survived until 73 CE, when a siege by the X Legion ended in the deaths by suicide of its 960 inhabitants. Another historically important fortress was Machaerus (מכוור), on the eastern bank, where, according to Josephus, John the Baptist was imprisoned by Herod Antipas and died. Also in Roman times, some Essenes settled on the Dead Sea's western shore; Pliny the Elder identifies their location with the words, "on the west side of the Dead Sea, away from the coast ... [above] the town of Engeda" (Natural History, Bk 5.73); and it is therefore a hugely popular but contested hypothesis today, that same Essenes are identical with the settlers at Qumran and that "the Dead Sea Scrolls" discovered during the 20th century in the nearby caves had been their own library. Josephus identified the Dead Sea in geographic proximity to the ancient Biblical city of Sodom. However, he referred to the lake by its Greek name, Asphaltites. Various sects of Jews settled in caves overlooking the Dead Sea. The best known of these are the Essenes of Qumran, who left an extensive library known as the Dead Sea Scrolls. The town of Ein Gedi, mentioned many times in the Mishna, produced persimmon for the temple's fragrance and for export, using a secret recipe. "Sodomite salt" was an essential mineral for the temple's holy incense, but was said to be dangerous for home use and could cause blindness. The Roman camps surrounding Masada were built by Jewish slaves receiving water from the towns around the lake. These towns had drinking water from the Ein Feshcha springs and other sweetwater springs in the vicinity. Byzantine period- Intimately connected with the Judean wilderness to its northwest and west, the Dead Sea was a place of escape and refuge. The remoteness of the region attracted Greek Orthodox monks since the Byzantine era. Their monasteries, such as Saint George in Wadi Kelt and Mar Saba in the Judean Desert, are places of pilgrimage.

Mark and Heather are at the BEST Swim Centre in Mallorca and bring your their top tips for beginning your open water journey. Here are their 9 top tips for open water swimming: - Equipment: Buy a wetsuit that fits well to prevent fighting it or carrying lots of water in it. Make sure you can be seen with a bright coloured hat and ensure you have a good set of googles to be able to see the course and any dangers ahead. - Safety: This is paramount in open water swimming. Swim at a proper venue with water testing and make sure to swim with someone else or have a spotter on the side. Also, familiarise yourself with the course entry and exit point before jumping in. - Warm up: It can be difficult to warm up when the water is cold so limbering up before can make a big difference. A few press ups and arm swings will suffice. - Climatization: Sit on the edge with your feet in the water and splash some on your face to get your body used to the cold water. - Lie on your back: Enter the water slowly to allow your body to get used to the temperature change. A good way to relax is lie on your back and take several deep breaths to control your breathing. - Rescue: Should you find yourself in difficulty in deep water then roll on to your back and wave to catch someone attention. - Confidence: Build confidence by taking it one step at a time. Step one is to fully submerge whilst blowing bubbles do ensure you can control your breathing. - Start slowly: Don't rush in to a long swim, especially if you are new to the open water. Swim to a buoy a short distance away, then take a break before continuing. - Finally.... ENJOY IT!
