I started quilting with my sister and purchased an Olfa rotary cutter for cutting out my blocks. I needed a new blade but these blades are quite expensive. My sister introduced me to the carpet blades by harbor freight which fit my 45mm cutter. At first I was skeptical because how can a $1.00 blade cut as well at the $9.00 blades from Olfa. And blades meant to cut fabric have to be a different and better blade then a blade made to cut carpet. So I got a set of each and tested each brand. I was surprised by the result! This is the heart of building passive income on Amazon. Private labeling means you did something to the product to make it uniquely your brand that no one else has rights to sell. Private labeling can be done on numerous levels, and one level that I did not mention in this video is informational private labeling, where you add a manual or how-to tips to your product--information that you personally wrote, so that no one else can mimic your product. Here are the main levels of private labeling your product on Amazon: First Level: - In your listing title, add "By [Your Company Name]" - Upload your logo as one of your product photos. Make sure it is not the first photo or the last two photos. Second Level: - Have your logo printed on a sticker that you attach to your product or to the packaging. - Have your logo printed on the product or the retail packaging of your product Third Level: - Accessorizing. Add accessories to your core product that no one else is adding to theirs. A powerful way to achieve this which makes it extremely hard for competitors to compete with you is by adding a training manual or instruction tips that you personally wrote. Fourth Level: - Trademark your company name and logo. You can apply for trademarks in numerous countries simultaneously here: http://www.wipo.int/madrid/en/ Brand Registry: When you register your brand with Amazon, no one else can edit your listing and it also makes it much more difficult for competitors to claim that your product is "not authentic." Our economy is in your hands.... INDIAN economy is in a crisis. Our country like many other ASIAN countries is undergoing a severe economic crunch. Many INDIAN industries are closing down. The INDIAN economy is in a crisis and if we do not take proper steps to control those, we will be in a critical situation. More than 30,000 crore rupees of foreign exchange are being siphoned out of our country on products such as cosmetics, snacks, tea, beverages, etc... which are grown, produced and consumed here. A cold drink that costs only 70 / 80 paise to produce, is sold for Rs.9 and a major chunk of profits from these are sent abroad. This is a serious drain on INDIAN economy. We have nothing against Multinational companies, but to protect our own interests we request everybody to use INDIAN products only at least for the next two years. With the rise in petrol prices, if we do not do this, the Rupee will devalue further and we will end up paying much more for the same products in the near future. What can you do about it? 1. Buy only products manufactured by WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES. 2. ENROLL as many people as possible for this cause..... Each individual should become a leader for this awareness. This is the only way to save our country from severe economic crisis. You don't need to give-up your lifestyle. You just need to choose an alternate product. But let's get started so the first thing I want to talk about here is what is the difference between Dropshipping, White Labeling, and creating your own products I think it's important to define the different terms there's Dropshipping which basically you act as a middleman customers buy stuff from you and then you turn around and tell the manufacturer where to ship it so an example of this might be you are the kayak king and you have a website kayak King com and you help pair people with certain kayaks so someone might come to your website buy a $500 kayak then you go around and you pay $400 to some manufacturer let's say you know Rugged Outdoors Kayaks you give them bucks and they ship it for you so there's a lot of benefits for this and we'll talk about the benefits in just a second the next thing we'll talk about is white labeling and define that white labeling is basically just taking a product that already exists nine times out of ten this is going to Alibaba or going to some kind of Chinese manufacturer and just sticking your logo on it and making it your own product even though there's nothing special about it there's nothing that makes it your own thing that company can turn around and White Label it as many companies as possible meaning you'll have as much competition as they want really an example of this would be you go to a Chinese manufacturer who bruises handheld fans. and you stick your logo on it and maybe it's Cool Breeze Fan and you're just you know whatever you're Fanning yourself with that and that's a white labeling a product so good thing about that is it's a little bit easier than creating your own product from scratch but the downside is anybody can do it it's not that hard another downside is you do have to pay for inventory so drop shipping is a little bit better because you don't have to pay for inventory in that regard but with all of these one of the issues you run across is the easier it is the easier it is for a competitor to come in and steal your lunch because it would suck if you're the kayak king and let's just say Should you start a Dropshipping site? Maybe white label some products? Or is it worth it to go and start your own company from Scratch? In this episode, we answer all these questions and compare and contrast. Line Extensions occur when a company introduces additional items in the same product category under the same brand name such as new flavors, forms, colors, added ingredients, package sizes. This is as opposed to brand extension which is a new product in a totally different product category. Line extension occurs when the company lengthens its product line beyond its current range. The company can extend its product line down-market stretch, up-market stretch, or both ways. Product line extensions are a process where companies with an established brand alter the factors of a product or products to satisfy a refined segment in the market. There are two types of product line extensions, horizontal and vertical. Horizontal extensions consist of keeping the price and quality consistent, but changing factors like flavour or colour to differentiate the products. Vertical extensions consist of increasing and decreasing the quality and price to create inferior and luxury goods. These product line extensions are often closely related to existing products in a brands portfolio, but targets specific brand consumers through this approach. Product line extensions help companies identify and tend to the needs of refined target markets. This approach is a way to try and increase company sales, as well as expanding their brands product portfolio within the desired market. This expansion of a company’s product line also increases their competitive impact, and if applied appropriately, their advantage within the intended market. Practically, when brands apply a product extension strategy they can often benefit from the new addition or additions. This is as extending their product line enlarges their product portfolio and as a result provides the consumers with more variety to choose from. This is positive, as consumers tend to enjoy being able to have choice and through expanding a brands product line, the brand is providing this choice. Investing in this approach is commonly pursued by companies due to their desire to create revenue and to advance their competitive status against rival companies. The advantages when undergoing product line extensions is that the new product or products are commonly closely related to existing products, so the company often has the appropriate production process and capacity to produce the new product or products. Issues facing product line extensions can include company’s investments in the new products without the desired return. The product may come at a loss or may not be able to make enough of the return the company was forecasting for. The new addition could also send confusion to the company’s customer base, and in turn negatively affect the loyalty they have for the brand. This can evidently become a long-term risk in terms of brand image, as consumers may have a new view of the brand as cheap, in the case of downward extension, or unrealistic and unreasonable in terms of upward extension. An issue also connected to the extensions, could result in the production process becoming more and more complicated as a result of new products, this could affect the company’s efficiency and quality in the production of the brands product range. An advantage of extending company product lines is the likely rise in sales, demand and market share. Product line extension increases the amount of different products available to consumers, and through adding more products into the market it keeps consumers interested. This can be helpful in avoiding customer base loss.
