I have a excel sheet having 350 records, I wanna split those records into different sheets per sheet 50 records. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let's have a look on sheet data 1. At first we need to read data into collection. 2. Create an instance for excel sheet and open the workbook into that. 3. Show the instance using Action stage 4. Get worksheet as collection using Action Stage Let's run and check We got the data 5. Create a dummy collection for separate the 50 records from main collection 6. Copy the 50 records into Dummy collection 7. Count the Total records in Main collection using internal collections VBO 8. Create data item for sheet number incrementation 9. Create a worksheet 10. write Dummy collection 50 records set into newly created sheet 11. Count the dummy collection data into new Data item 12. Add these count into start position data item 13. We can also say that SQL tables are kind of data structure which are used by database for efficient storage of data. To create a table in our database we use SQL CREATE TABLE command. SQL CREATE TABLE is a type of DATA DEFINITION LANGUAGE also known as DDL. To Create a table in your schema you will require CREATE TABLE system privilege. In our future videos we will see what are system and object privileges and how to grant them to a user. Today for this video we will be using Sample schema HR which already has all the necessary privileges. Ohk Let's see the syntax. CREATE TABLE table name ( column name1 Data-Type(size), column name2 Data-Type(size), ..... ); CREATE TABLE is an oracle reserved word or say an Oracle key word whereas There are 3 different ways of creating a table in Oracle database. Creating a table using Command Line Interface (CLI) in Oracle database For demonstrating how to create table in oracle database using CLI, I'll be using Command prompt. Thats how we create table using command prompt. you can check your table structure by DESCRIBE command for that just write DESC and your table name. Like this Another way of creating a table is by using Graphic user interface (GUI) in Oracle database To demonstrate how to create table using GUI we will use SQL developer. Lets open our SQL developer I am connected to HR schema if you do not know how to create a connection to database using SQL developer please watch my oracle database tutorial 4 that explains database connectivity using SQL developer and command prompt. Link for this video is in the description below. So lets create a table. Creating a table using SQL developer is very easy we do not have to fire any query here. Let's start First of all right click on your connection in which you want to create a table and choose schema browser. This will open a separate schema browser pane or you can expend your connection by clicking this + sign and then right click on table and choose New Table. However I prefer working with schema browser so let's skip to schema browser pane here from the first drop-down list you can choose connection name and in the second drop down list you can choose what database objects you want to work with we want to create a table thus I'll choose table and then click this arrow here and choose option for new table Ok we have created a table wizard first of all give a unique name to your table and add some column as well. For this, click the green plus button. Now we already have a column so give it some name. Also choose a datatype from the list and specify any size you can check this not null column if in case you want to make this a mandatory column you can also specify default value and constraint If you want to make this column a primary key you can click here In my future video i'll show you what are these constraints and different ways of applying them on a column in a table. for this video we will concentrate on create table only so when you are done with all your columns click ok Thats your table You can double click on your table here and can see its structure. Thats it

Leveraging Oracle Multitenant from Visual Studio and .NET

10:08
.NET developers: Watch this video to learn how to take advantage of Oracle Multitenant, a new feature of Oracle Database 12c, while using Visual Studio. Oracle Multitenant makes it easy for developers to quickly make copies of existing databases, create/destroy new test databases quickly, and to share databases with other developers. If you would like to try out what you see in this video you will need access to an Oracle Database version 12.1 or later that was configured to use a container database. You will also need to download and install: 1) Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio version 12.1 or higher 2) Oracle Data Provider for .NET version 12.1 or higher This software can be found on the .NET Developer center (http://otn.oracle.com/dotnet) as part of the "ODTwithODAC" download packaging. For instructions on how to install this, see the Quick Start Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrzDOk8gg5A Visual Studio 2012 and 2013 is supported - any edition except Express Edition (Community Edition is supported). Oracle Multitenant, introduced in Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1), enables an Oracle database to function as a multitenant container database (CDB) that includes zero, one, or many customer-created pluggable databases (PDBs). A PDB is a portable collection of schemas, schema objects, and nonschema objects that appears to any Oracle client application as a non-CDB. Note: all Oracle database versions prior to Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1) are known as non-CDBs. A CDB contains one seed database, which is a system-supplied template that the CDB can use to create new PDBs. The seed PDB is named PDB$SEED. You cannot add or modify objects in PDB$SEED. Because new PDBs are essentially copied from the seed rather than created from scratch, PDB creation time is generally much faster than creating a non-CDB. PDBs can also be cloned from other PDBs in a similarly fast amount of time. PDBs can be unplugged, which means they are removed from the CDB, and exist on the database server simply as a set of files: a metadata XML file along with some database files (.DBFs). This combination of metadata file and database files can then be easily plugged into any other CDB that is compatible with the PDB. From the point of view of .NET developers who have SYSDBA privileges, this makes testing a database configuration with your application as simple as cloning an existing PDB, or plugging in a PDB in the form of some provided database files. Similarly, a database configuration can be shared with other developers, either by cloning or through unplugging and sharing the database files. If a user with SYSDBA privileges makes a connection to a CDB in Visual Studio Server Explorer, a Pluggable Databases Node appears in the tree control. When that node is expanded, the seed PDB, along with any other available PDBs, appear as child nodes. From there, operations such as Create New, Plug, Unplug, Clone, Delete, Open, and Close can all be easily achieved.

Beginner to Expert PL/SQL 11g Tutorial in Bangla: Program Units L#7 P#6 | Using Bulk Binding

51:07
Binds whole arrays of values in a single operation, rather than using a loop to perform a FETCH, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operation multiple times Oracle uses two engines to process PL/SQL code. All procedural code is handled by the PL/SQL engine while all SQL is handled by the SQL statement executor, or SQL engine. There is an overhead associated with each context switch between the two engines. If PL/SQL code loops through a collection performing the same DML operation for each item in the collection it is possible to reduce context switches by bulk binding the whole collection to the DML statement in one operation. Oracle introduce bulk bind process using collection. In this bulk we have to two actions: a. Bulk collect: Fetch data from the database. b. Bulk bind: Put data from the database. The FORALL syntax allows us to bind the contents of a collection to a single DML statement, allowing the DML to be run for each row in the collection without requiring a context switch each time. Bulk binds can improve the performance when loading collections from a queries. The BULK COLLECT INTO construct binds the output of the query to the collection.

Performing logical deletes in Oracle ADF

09:26
Hi, In some use cases it is required not to physically delete the row from database but instead update a FLAG e.g delete_FLAG = 'Y' in order to hide rows from user. So, if you don't familiar with the framework then you might take a long route to do the task which could easily be done by declarative steps. In this video we will do the following. 1. We will add history columns in entities. 2. we will have a view criteria to display only DELETE_FLAG = 'N' rows. 3. On deletion in detail table we will delete logically. 4. We will update the History columns of Master entity as modified by and modified_date. Download the sample code http://baigsorcl.blogspot.com/2010/11/performing-logical-delete-in-oracle-adf.html More tutorials at http://baigsorcl.blogspot.com
