Must Do Maldives | Paradise On Earth

03:13
If you’ve been following Must Do Travels for long, chances are that you have seen your fair share of videos about The Maldives. This is one of the destinations we are asked about most often, so it seems there is a lot of interest in going there, but people tend to not know an awful lot about it yet. The Maldives is a small chain of islands located off the Southeast coast of India in the Indian Ocean. There are a total of 26 Atolls that are each made up of over 1,100 tiny islands, and they are spread out quite far from North to South. Flying to the Maldives can generally take more than 18 hours from New York City, so make sure that you purchase some comfortable airline tickets if you plan to fly here from the opposite side of the world. Getting between the islands requires travel by boat or by seaplane, as there are very few roads connecting the islands, and even fewer airports. Being so remote makes it a great place to unplug and unwind, and The Maldives attract their fair share of tourists each year. This is one of those vacations you take when you really want to spoil yourself, or someone special. One of the most popular and recognizable features of The Maldives are the overwater bungalows that you can find at many of top resorts, and these are perfect places for couples to celebrate a honeymoon or other milestone. These properties are photogenic to say the least and are one of the many things about coming to the islands that tourists dream about. Thanks to the many coral reefs surrounding the resorts, the surrounding waters are relatively shallow and calm, and surprisingly clear. This makes it an ideal place for kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving. There are also underwater restaurants and spas that give you a peaceful view with the ocean above. Here you will undoubtedly spend plenty of time on the many white sand beaches. The islands are their busiest from December through February when many Europeans come here to escape the bitter cold weather from back home. The rest of the year gets a bit warmer as most of the Maldives is situated close to the Equator. Staying at one of the many resorts with overwater bungalows can be quite pricey, and it would not be uncommon for most couples to spend around $10,000 in airfare and accommodations for a week-long vacation at one of the resorts. You can certainly find cheaper places to stay on the island, but then again most people want to come here for the full experience so why sell yourself short by staying in a budget-conscious motel? If you are looking to visit when the prices are the most affordable, visit during the Summer months when prices are a bit less than the peak season. If you’re looking to plan your own trip to the Maldives be sure to sign up on our website at www.mustdotravels.com to get access to our best deals on hotels and resorts in this tropical island paradise. Until next time, this has been another Must Do Travels adventure!

Things To Do In Barcelona Spain | Must Do Travels

03:10
READ MORE: https://blog.mustdotravels.com/barcelona-was-europes-city-of-surprise-and-delight/ There are many places in Europe that you could say are more well-known, or more traveled to than Barcelona, but this city was one that we totally weren’t expecting to be as great as it really was. At first glance, we figured that Barcelona would have a few note-worthy landmarks that we could easily cross off our bucket list, but from there it just kept getting better and better. It seemed like every corner we turned revealed something new and unexpected that made the journey that much better. Perhaps it’s sometimes worth going into an adventure without too much pretense or expectation, but when you practically travel for a living it tends to take more and more to catch your attention. Spain overall has been a great destination, from coast to coast. Being based out of North America we rarely hear much about the country (in terms of tourism), and when we think of the term “Spanish” we tend to think of our neighbors to the South rather than its origins over the sea in Europe. Barcelona is a world-class city that has days worth of activities and Must-Dos for any avid art aficionado or urban adventurer.

The city of Sedona, Arizona claims to be "The Most Beautiful Place on Earth", and we just had to check it out for ourselves. Sedona is located about 2 hours North of the Phoenix, Arizona area and has a slightly cooler climate than most of its desert neighbors. It is a land of rustic red sandstone found nowhere else on Earth. Many people even claim that there are many Vortices (plural for vortex) surrounding the city area, and that draws a lot of spiritualists to the area. Archaeologists believe that Sedona has been inhabited for up to 13,000 years by various tribes of people. Some even settled in the area permanently and build dwellings on the sides of the cliffs. You can visit some of those ancient ruins today. In this video we set out to visit the following locations: Downtown Sedona Bell Rock Red Rock State Park Coconino National Forest Honanki Ruins Chapel on the Rock Devil's Bridge Amitabha Stupa Peace Park

Things to do in Florence, Italy | Must Do Travels

05:07
Hey Must Do Travels Tribe. Welcome back to another episode as we continue to explore the world together! Today we’re in Florence, Italy or, Firenze. Florence was a hub for medieval European Trade and attracts millions of tourists each year. Lets go explore! Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore & Piazza Duomo 0:20 This cathedral is huge! Construction started in 1296 and completed 1436. The three buildings in the Piazza Duomo are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and they are a major attraction of the whole area of Tuscany. For a long time, the dome of the Duomo was the largest in the world and is still the largest one made from brick. Piazza Della Signoria 00:58 This is an L-shaped square right by the Palazzo Vecchio. This was point of origin of the Florentine Republic and is still a major political focus of the city as it is right in front of the city’s town hall and other historic buildings of the city. Other notable features are the Neptune fountain, and copy of the David statue by Michelangelo. Uffizi Palace and Gallery 1:48 The Uffizi is located adjacent to the Piazza Della Signoria and houses a collection of priceless art and artefacts primarily from the Italian Renaissance period making it one of the most visited art museums around the world. Construction of the Uffizi began in 1560 to house the Florentine Magistrates. When completed 21 years later, the top floor was made into a gallery for the Medici family and their guests and included their collection of Roman sculptures. Palazzo Vecchio 2:44 The Palazzo Vecchio is the town hall of Florence and overlooks the Piazza Della Signoria. The tower currently has three bells with the oldest being cast in the 13th century. This palace gained great importance in 1865 when Florence became the temporary capital of the Kingdom of Italy. Although most of the Palazzo Vecchio is now a museum, it remains as the symbol and centre of local government. Since 1872 it has housed the office of the mayor of Florence, and it is the seat of the City Council. Palazzo Pitti 3:34 The Palazzo Pitti, is a Renaissance palace in Florence and is situated on the south side of the River Arno, a short distance from the Ponte Vecchio. The core of the present palazzo dates from 1458 and was originally the town residence of Luca Pitti, a Florentine banker. In the late 18th century, the palazzo was used as a power base by Napoleon and later served for a brief period as the principal royal palace of the newly united Italy. The palazzo is now the largest museum complex in Florence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join Must Do Travels, the largest community of travel enthusiasts from around the world. Slovenia Travel Guide | Must Do Travels

03:38
Featuring contributions from our friend Hamza Mujtaba Films: https://www.youtube.com/user/hamzamuj Join us on this episode of the Must Do Travels Show where we explore the majestic landscapes and natural wonders of Slovenia. Let us know in the comments below where you would like for us to check out next. Slovenia is a tiny European country located just North East of the Italian border, along the Juliann Alps. For centuries this region was the meeting place of the Italian and Germanic people, and the country’s architecture, culture, and cuisine shows a blend of both influences on the local Slavic people. This laid-back country is completely unassuming, and really should be appreciated for not trying too hard to be anything at all. Slovenia is simply Slovenia, and that’s just it. It represents a slower and more relaxed way of life, which is something to really cherish on a vacation in this day and age. The whole country is dotted with tiny European farm towns, with their fresh markets, churches, and plenty of stunning views of the great outdoors. If you are looking for a more affordable alternative to experiencing the grandeur and peacefulness of the Alps without having to break the bank on a long stay in Switzerland, Slovenia is your natural choice. The cost for lodging and meals will be somewhat comparable to the average cost of staying in any small American town, to give you a point of reference. The country actually doesn’t experience a significant amount of tourism, as most Europeans and other foreigners tend to gravitate more towards the sandy beaches of neighboring Croatia instead. This makes Slovenia a less crowded destination without a lot of the daily pressures that come from being in booming tourist towns. Most tourists actually just come from neighboring countries, who are more familiar with what Slovenia has to offer. Most popular activities in Slovenia involve being active outdoors, such as hiking, rowing, biking, and other sports. Slovenia’s capital city Lubljana (Lube Lee Anna) is its largest by far, but is still only home to about 275,000 people. The city demonstrates an architectural style that is a blend of Venetian and Austrian, and reflects the neo-classical architectural style that was very popular in Europe during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The city’s style and it’s canals were even somewhat reminiscent to us of central Paris too. One of the most iconic landmarks in Slovenia is Lake Bled, which is a large calm lake in the northwest of the country, and easily recognizable for its tiny island featuring the Church of the Assumption. This lake is a favorite place for Slavs to come to and relax, and a place they are often proud to bring guests and family members visiting the country. Nearby you will find Slovenia’s tallest peak, Mount Triglav, hiking which is said to make you a true Slovenian..though we’re not sure that holds true for tourists. The perpetual snow melt of the Juliann Alps around Mount Triglav feeds into the Soca (socha) River, which is another iconic feature of the Slovenian landscape. The river cuts through a mostly limestone path, and is prized for its naturally beautiful turquoise waters. Stay tuned to the Must Do Travels Show for more upcoming adventures. Cusco is a city in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. The indigenous name of this city is Qusqu. Although the name was used in Quechua, its origin is found in the Aymara language. The word is derived from the phrase qusqu wanka ('Rock of the owl'), related to the city's foundation myth of the Ayar Siblings. You don’t have to like to gamble to spend some time in Macau, but it sure wouldn’t hurt to keep things interesting. Some of the resorts on our list offer among the highest level of amenities you can find, and they are all a great place to get away and treat yourself to a taste of the good life. These are our picks for the Top 5 Hotels in Macau: 5. PARISIAN To kick off our list at number 5 is The Parisian Macao which boasts a ½ sized reconstruction of the Eiffel Tower. Having only been open for a couple years now, this has recently become one of the top hotels that tourists look forward to staying at. Even if you don’t book your stay here, and opt instead for one of the other hotels on our Top 5 list, you can still wander around this property and take in the sights and sounds that almost transport you right onto the streets of France. This hotel features 3,000 guest rooms, and cost more than $2.5 Billion to build. Inside you can find more than 150 retail shops, a convention space, and even a performing arts theater than can seat over 1,200 people. 4. VENETIAN MACAU Coming in at #4 on our list is the Venetian Macao Resort. This version of the Venetian is themed just like its Las Vegas counterpart, but on a MUCH larger scale. The 39-story hotel has a total square footage of more than 10 and a half million square feet inside, making it one of the largest buildings on Earth. There is even a sports arena on site than can seat more than 15,000 fans for popular concerts and sporting events. On-site you will find 3,000 guest rooms, as well as luxurious private suites among the top floors, and they even have their own private Cirque du Soliel show called Zaia. Inside you will also find a reconstruction of the canals of Venice Italy where you can hire a Gondola to ride around in style and sightsee. This makes the resort one of the most popular places in all of Macao for tourists to get in their photo ops. 3. MGM COTAI Right in the middle at number 3 is the MGM Cotai. This modern and luxurious property cost about $3.5 Billion to build, and it reflects that level quality in its facilities and amenities. You can walk through the many art collections housed inside the MGM Cotai, as well as book reservations to see a couple of the unique performances that they have on permanent residence in their theaters. Although this hotel may have costed considerably more than the other hotels we have mentioned so far on our list, it is significantly smaller in size having barely more than 1,500 guest rooms in total. That makes it about half the size of the Parisian and the Venetian. Unlike some of the other properties you may find in Macao that cater to a more traditional Asian audience, the MGM Cotai was specifically designed to appeal to travelers from all around the globe. 2. WYNN PALACE - MACAU Coming in at a well-deserved 2nd place is the Wynn Palace. Steve Wynn practically kicked started the modern Macao experience when he opened his first Wynn hotel here back in 2006. Since then the resort developer has created additional properties to keep up with the ever-growing demand for luxury accommodations on the Cotai Strip. Even though the Wynn name was already synonymous with “luxury”, the Wynn Palace takes that expectation to a whole other level in Macao. This 1,700 room property cost almost $4.5 Billion to build, making it the most expensive hotel on our list. If you want to see a hotel that is decorated to the gills, you’ve got to check this one out. 1. GALAXY MACAU After working our way through the other hotels on this top 5 list, it might be hard to imagine anything getting more extravagant than what we have seen already, but there’s more. Topping off the list and earning the #1 spot is the Galaxy Macau. The Galaxy is a site to behold, and has many intriguing works of art on display, as well as relaxing pools and waterpark too. This hotel has continued to grow in size since it was originally constructed, and the Galaxy continues to increase its earnings in recent years. Some of the restaurants inside the Galaxy Macau are rated among the best in the world. In a city that has recently become quite well known for its extravagance, it is getting ever increasingly difficult to outdo the last hotel.

Read More: https://blog.mustdotravels.com/sipping-sideways-in-santa-ynez-california/ Santa Ynez, California is an unexpectedly laid back and inviting place to visit in California. The Santa Ynez Valley is comprised of a few very small neighboring towns that have an old school American vibe to most of. Except for Solvang, that town looks like it was plucked right off the streets of Copenhagen, making it a quirky and fun place to stay for a few days. One minute you are driving past lakes and trees, and the next minute it's all cattle ranches and vineyards. That's how unexpected a trip here can be. Only about an hour and a half outside of Los Angeles, you wouldn't think that California could change so much so fast.

Best Things to do in Taipei - Overnight City Guide

I have always loved travelling. I was lucky enough that from a young age, my parents took us all over the place, instilling in us a sense of larger spaces and broadened horizons. As I grew up, I became more independent in my travels and tried to figure out ways to do it more. From learning Spanish in Salamanca to purposefully getting 6 month summer jobs in places I wanted to explore further. I became accustomed to getting lost and just wondering the streets, figuring out where would be the next good meal or when I would stumble onto some secret only locals whispered about. Getting lost was second nature back then. The only resources we had were over-read guide books that by the time you reached their recommendations, the waiters would push their best sellers down your throats. So we had to resort to friend recommendations, what blog resources were up on the internet, guide books, conversations with strangers and your hotel concierge. Nowadays in our hyper connected world, everyone is an expert and there are so many sites that claim that this restaurants, trumps this bar, which is passé and now is considered touristy by pretty much everyone. Honestly, for me, good is good, so that’s what I base myself on. For every family or friend trip we would take, I became the defacto research guide. Skimming through websites in English and in the language of destination, guide books, personal blogs, Instagram hashtags, geotags and anything else social media would allow me to delve into. Finally, being able to create a snap shot of the city, its districts and where to eat, sleep, drink, party or learn about the culture. This is what Overnight is about.
