You’d be right. That said, getting abs still remains rather elusive to many and certainly being able to maintain them year round is even harder. Not any more. In this video, I show you a 5 step plan for how to get a 6 pack that you can use to start getting your abs to show fast. Despite the fact that many are aware of the importance of proper nutrition when it comes to getting abs, it is still a mighty struggle to get them. It usually comes down to the methods those people are using to try and get them in the first place. Crash diet plans and temporary deprivation based tactics are not going to cut it long term if you want to get and keep your abs. Anything that forces you to feel as if you’re missing out or be deprived of what you really want is only going to be a temporary solution at best. As soon as you get tired of not having what you want, you’ll quickly give in and lose your ability to keep your hard earned abs. That said, the 5 step formula for getting a 6 pack starts with cutting out the obvious crap foods from your diet. You should know pretty quickly what these are. It’s the cakes, sweets, alcohol, fatty salad dressings, etc that just scream problems the minute you eat them. You know what they are and that means you know they should be gone, so do it. There’s never been a better time than now to start making the changes that are going to dramatically help you in your pursuit of your abs. Next step is to start eating more often. Yep, despite what keyboard scientists who read a few articles on google scholar want you to believe, there are far more important reasons to be eating more frequently throughout the day than whether or not this is maximally anabolic. I cover these for you in the video. Next up, you’re going to want to take another pass through that diet of yours. On this second time through, you’re going to want to remove the less obvious items that aren’t helping you as best they can to get your 6 pack abs. For me, I lay out three perfect examples. I thought these foods were healthy but I was only partially right. How they were being prepared was making all the difference in me seeing my abs consistently…or not. Moving on, you now want to eat more of the good foods you swapped in. This helps you to maintain and continue to build new muscle. Too often, people who take out the offending foods will free up many calories in their diet. If you don’t replace them with good foods you’ll likely wind up not supporting your muscle growth and be skinny without enough muscle mass. Finally, where the etching in of those abs can happen, supplementation. Use high quality supplements to fine tune your efforts and really take your results to the next level. In this video I’m taking you on a full burger review comparison between In-N-Out and Five Guys, two burger chains with extremely loyal followings. In-N-Out Burger I ordered the Double Double and extra crispy fries. Now to keep things consistent for the review, I couldn’t go all crazy with their secret menu of toppings, so all I ordered was extra onions. Prices - Double Double - $3.85, Extra crispy fries - $1.80 The Double Double from In-N-Out is indeed extremely tasty and salty and it has an amazing balance of tastes and everything goes together in such harmony. However, after finishing the Double Double I walked away still quite hungry. Five Guys Next we drove over to Five Guys, luckily just a 5 minute drive from In-N-Out Burger. Again, I kept it pretty simple and just ordered their cheeseburger all the way, and a side of regular fries. You’ll notice immediately that the prices are twice as high as In-N-Out, however, we’ll find out that their burger weight probably twice as much as well. Prices - Cheeseburger - $7.99, Fries - $4.29 The Five Guys Cheeseburger is heavy and dense, and they already press down the bun for you, so it’s not fluffy at all. The ingredients inside are great, and I especially enjoyed the mushrooms inside. The burger is definitely not as salty as In-N-Out, however it tastes better quality. VERDICT: It sort of depends on what mood you’re in, and you do have to take into account that Five Guys is twice as expensive as In-N-Out - so you could eat two Double Doubles for the same price as one Five Guys cheeseburger. I think the In-N-Out Double Double is tastier, possibly because it’s saltier, but the Five Guys burger tastes fresher, more natural, and a little more home-cooked styles. Overall, I would choose Five Guys more often than In-N-Out Burger. That’s my final verdict. What about you? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! Galit Goldfarb begins with her own story -- becoming bulimic as a teen, and determining to learn all she could about science and nutrition in college, and yet still not achieving health. She studied medical science, opening a clinic after her return. But everyone she treated felt better only in the short-term. She was also diagnosed with cancer. She began to learn all about human health, reading from all the scientific fields until she was able to understand the answer: the guerilla diet (food choices that fight back against everything she had learned!). Goldfarb takes us through ancient human history, demonstrating evidence of the earliest humans' health and diet (living into their 70s and eating plants, nuts, fruits, and legumes) and how humans moved shortsightedly away from that diet. Cancer free (without radiation), her final argument is simple -- while an "omnivore" diet may in the short term taste better, in the long term, it is unhealthy, not only for us but for our planet. Galit Goldfarb has worked within the health field for over 22 years. While working in different research laboratories and with many private clients, Galit has written eight books in the fields of health and personal development, including #1 International Bestseller “The Guerrilla Diet & Lifestyle Program” based on her in-depth research into the ideal diet for humans. Galit is a Professional member of the American Nutrition Association, and the American Society for Nutrition, and holds a BSc (honours) in Biochemistry and Nutrition, an MSc in Medical Science with Distinction, and studied Immunology for a Post Graduate Certificate. He may be the king of food challenges, but Adam Richman didn't triumph over every one of his competitive eating contests. Here are some of the more insane food challenges that even Richman — the mighty man of Man Versus Food himself — couldn't beat. Adam Richman's first on-air defeat went down on season one, episode two in Memphis, Tennessee, and we're guessing that first loss hurt worse than the others. Richman attempted to beat a burger challenge at The Big Foot Lodge, a lively local burger joint that was famous for its big portions. The Big Foot Challenge involves polishing off a whopping 7.5-pound burger in under 60 minutes. Before Richman, 1,300 hopeful eaters had attempted the challenge and only four had succeeded. He started out strong, gleefully gobbling half of the burger within the first 20 minutes. Within another 20 minutes, however, the fearless foodie had slowed down. Richman stood up to catch his breath before throwing in the towel with about a quarter of the burger still on the plate. Since the episode aired, more than 4,000 have attempted the challenge, and only 23 have finished it. Down in the central Texas town of Austin, Richman faced the Don Juan Challenge on season one, episode five. The tex-mex trial took place at Juan in a Million, an unassuming Mexican eatery that has been a eastside breakfast go-to since the '80s. The Mexican restaurant is renowned for its Don Juan El Taco Grande, a hearty, three-quarter-pound pile of potato, egg, bacon, and cheese wrapped in a warm, six-inch flour tortilla. To beat the Don Juan Challenge, Richman had to break the record held by the previous champion, who had devoured a whopping seven tacos in one sitting. In his attempt to consume eight tacos, Adam took advantage of the fact that the competition had no time limit and took a lengthy siesta after his fourth taco. He started on taco number five two hours into the competition, and eventually realized he wouldn't be able to finish it in time for closing. Not wanting to keep any of the staff late, Richman nobly ceded the competition. Still, the owner's son, Juan Meza Jr. graciously awarded Richman "Celebrity Host Champion" for his valiant efforts. The first is to stop using the word diet. This implies a short term solution when what you really need is a long term, lifetime approach to eating. The second is to stop listening to the age old advice of “eat big, get big” since it just is not true. In this video, I show you the real problem that is keeping you or someone you know too skinny. Often times it has nothing to do with the amount of calories that are being taken in on a daily basis, but rather the quality of the calories that are being eaten. I’m going to show you real world examples of how this plays out time and time again. Using myself as the example, and hardgainer Jesse as well, you will get to see exactly what I ate as a child that was holding back the gains I was supposed to be seeing. To begin, most skinny guys are eating enough calories. I know, shocking huh? It isn’t some super high metabolism that is keeping them skinny. That helps a bit, but more importantly, there is a dearth of quality calories coming in that often times derails the pursuit of muscle growth. A true muscle building diet should contain high amounts of each food, but only after the quality of that food is secured. Muscle building diets should consist of the standby ingredients like oatmeal, vegetables, protein sources, etc. That said, the type of diet plan that I show you here (with a sample breakfast) is devoid of most of these let alone vitamins, minerals and good overall dense calories. This can be fixed however, if you allow for a bit of a transition time rather than trying to reach your goal right away. The problem most people make is trying to make too large of a change right away. Instead, what you want to do is see if you can identify a middle ground between how you are currently eating and how you know you should be eating. If you can do this, you can more easily take steps to start eating more in line with where you want to go rather than forcing yourself to try and adopt this completely foreign way to feed yourself. Remember, if it feels too much like work, then your mind is eventually going to treat it like work and sooner or later you are going to want to “call in sick”! Eat like an athlete and treat your food as fuel and you will realize just how important good nutrition is to your overall development and performance. During the Chili Dog Challenge, Richman scarfed down seventeen hot dogs. Each hot dog featured mustard, as well as chili that was made from scratch. - Adam traveled to Connecticut to take on a stuffed pizza challenge at Randy's Wooster St. Pizza Shop. This eating challenge required finishing a whopping ten pounds of stuffed pizza. The pizza measured twenty-two inches in diameter. - During this challenge, Adam Richman visited Chompie's in Tempe, Arizona. The year was 2010 and the challenge took place during the third season of the show.
