16 FAMOUS LOGOS WITH A HIDDEN MEANING (That We Never Even Noticed)

06:33
How to design a successful logo? How to build a famous brand for your business? Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. Amazon 2:14 The orange arrow is similar to a smile because the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product you can imagine. Baskin Robbins 2:40 The pink-colored parts of the "BR" section make up the number 31, which is how many ice cream flavors Baskin Robbins used to famously sell. Toyota 2:56 The logo represents a stylized image of a needle eye with a thread passing through it. This is a hint at the company’s past – they used to produce weaving machines. Continental 3:28 Continental, a famous car tire producer, has a logo in which the first two letters depict a car wheel. Formula 1 3:41 If you look carefully at the white space between the letter ’F’ and the red stripes, you can see the number 1. Pinterest 3:59 On Pinterest, people collect images they like from across the Internet and ’pin’ them to their online boards. That’s why the image of a pin is hidden in the letter P. Beats 4:17 Beats, an audio equipment producer based in the USA, uses a logo in which the letter ’B’ looks like headphones on a person’s head. Toblerone 4:32 The famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, has a silhouette of a bear in its logo. That's because Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. BMW 4:55 The logo is simply a part of the Bavarian flag, the area of Germany where the company originated. LG 5:18 The logo is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to have human relations with their customers. Evernote 5:34 The corner of the elephant’s ear is folded over in a similar way how people fold the corner of a page to make notes. Coca-Cola 5:57 In the space between the letters ’O’ and ’L’, you can see the Danish flag. It’s purely a coincidence. Nevertheless, Coca-Cola has used this as part of its marketing campaigns in the Scandinavian country. If you’ve enjoyed this video, hit that thumbs up button! What makes a truly great logo

04:45
Here's how a simple mark ends up meaning something big as a great logo. Joe Posner, and Michael Bierut (designer of the Hillary Clinton logo) explain. For more from Michael Bierut on graphic design, check out his book "How to use graphic design to sell things, explain things, make things look better, make people laugh, cry, and (every once in a while) change the world": http://www.amazon.com/How-Michael-Bierut/dp/0062413902 Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO About once a month, there's a new logo to fight about on the internet. The biggest one in recent memory was the highly controversial Hillary Clinton logo, which did not escape scrutiny from Vox.com either. But as a designer/filmmaker, something about these repeated discussions struck me as missing the point on what makes logos tick. It often has little to do with the subjective musings. So I called up Michael Bierut, the designer of that Hillary Clinton logo and countless others. He sat down with me and helped explain the elements of a great logo in the video above. What is a Brand? The Difference Between a Brand and a Logo

03:44
The difference between a brand and a logo; between deliberate branding, and branding by default; and how you, the entrepreneur, have the power to shape and persuade the overall brand image by focusing on what's positive, and projecting your unique vision for the company's future. ====================================== Free branding report: http://www.fuelblue.com/lp/brand Twitter: https://twitter.com/fuelblue Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fuelblueagency ====================================== What is a brand? What’s the difference between a brand and a logo? What’s the difference between deliberate branding, and branding by default? Do you know? Well if you don’t, then you’re probably branding by default. That’s not good. ----- OK, so what exactly is a brand? Because it’s not your logo. Your logo is a graphical representation of your brand. It’s the main visual ambassador of your brand, and the entire basis of your visual brand image, or your corporate identity. Wow, that was a lot of big words, but what do they all mean? Well let’s see if we can’t make sense of all that. Let’s start with the word brand. Would it surprise you to learn that a brand is really nothing more than a thought? So in essence, it’s energy. A company’s brand IS what its best customer thinks of it. What its least happy customer thinks of it. What its prospects think of it. What its industry thinks of it. What its employees, partners, vendors, and contractors think of it. And perhaps most overlooked, what the entrepreneur behind the company thinks of it. When you combine all of those thoughts - all that energy - into one focused thought, or the average of all of those opinions, then you come up with the overall brand. And here lies the magic - the difference between branding your company deliberately, or by default. You, as the entrepreneur, have the mental image of the company in its best light - as you see it in reality, AND its full potential. Most of those other thoughts or opinions are based on the past. Someone’s experience with a company instills an image of the brand in their minds. It’s the past. It’s over. Good or bad, it’s done. But YOU see beyond the past and present. You see the future of your business. You see beyond what is and can visualize what can be. Nobody else is going to do that. When you allow your brand to be determined by other people’s opinions, that’s branding by default. But when you project your future image so others can see it, and feel it, and believe in it - that’s deliberate branding. Being able to not only have a vision of your company’s future - it’s potential, it’s promise - but being able to share it with all interested parties so that they can get their energy behind it too. That’s the power of branding. The logo then becomes the visual metaphor of that image. And when people in your world see that icon, they don’t just recognize a company - they remember the feeling behind that brand. It’s all energy. It’s all about making an emotional connection to people, and getting them to rally their energy behind your vision. =================================== Fuelblue TV is a free video series for technical B2B CEOs and CMOs. When Should I Trademark My Name or Logo? - All Up In Yo' Business

03:56
Contact Aiden and learn more at www.180lawco.com. Someone asked me recently when is the best time to trademark your business name or logo. The simple answer: As soon as possible! Really, in general, the sooner the better for filing a trademark for your business name or logo. I discussed in a previous video that you have some trademark rights under common law even if you never register it with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). But, having a registered trademark is infinitely better and it makes your trademark rights a lot stronger. So, even though you might have a common law trademark in something, its always better to actually register the trademark if you can. To register a trademark, you do have to be actively using whatever the trademark is in commerce. So, if your business is already established, i.e., you have a website or marketing materials using your business name or logo that you are trying to trademark, then you are actively using it in commerce and that will work in your favor when you try to get it registered. If you’re not quite there yet, for example, maybe all you have so far is a great logo, you can still file an application for the trademark. However it is an “intent to use” application… and it is exactly what it sounds like. It means that you are intending to use whatever the trademark is. So, that will buy you some time in being able to actively use that trademark in commerce, but still getting that protection if your trademark is ultimately registered. So, even if your business is not actively started yet, you can, in most cases, still file that intent to use application to get a head start on that trademark registration. So, simply put, the sooner you can file a trademark application, the better off you are. It basically gets you first in line in priority of using that trademark, assuming no one else has already used it. And if you are still getting your business started, you can file that intent to use application in order to get a little extra time for you to start using it actively in commerce. Famous Logos With Hidden Meanings - 2 Minute Marketing #104

02:04
Logos With Hidden Meanings http://videomojo.net/ Some of the best logos are simple, yet clever. Take a look at these logos. The Amazon logo has the yellow swoosh, because they want you to know that they have everything .... from a to z. Baskin Robbins is famous for having "31" flavors, which is why it's part of their logo. The FedEx logo looks pretty simple, but between the "e" and the "x" there is an arrow that subliminally represents speed and precision. Look closely at the FexEx logo and you'll see an arrow, suggesting the company is moving forward and looking ahead. And in the center of the Tostitos logo, is a picture of 2 people enjoying a bowl of chips. See the kiss between the "K" and the "I" ? The iconic smiling face is actually the letter "g" and it's on the logo twice. How about the man riding a bike ? The "v" and the "a" in Sanyo's logo represent an analog sound wave, and the "i" and "o" stand for binary digits, calling to mind the digital age. Marketing experts agree that a logo is an important part of your marketing campaign. There are several reasons why you should have a logo... Solidify your brand, To be more memorable, And to Instill trust, and appear "bigger" and "well-established. Adding your logo to your print advertising can help your ad get noticed. And if you want your advertising to have long-lasting impression....Add your logo to promotional items. It's a great way to brand your video, like these videos by Video Mojo.

Brand identity guidelines. A walk through guide of a brand identity / logo guidelines document.

07:11
I've had many requests to do a video where I run through an example of a brand identity guidelines document. So, I am happy to oblige :) Brand identity or logo guidelines as they can often be referred to; are a useful way of quickly accessing technical details about your logo such as colour codes and font types. They are also a way of making sure that your logo is always presented in the way that it is intended, no matter who is using it. Stay Creative! How to Get a Trademark for My Logo and Brand Name - Entertainment Law Asked & Answered

05:15
A web visitor wrote in: I have created a Logo with a generic phrase for my apparel company, with a design that indicates just what it means by utilizing a letter as part of the graphic. I would like to use this both nationally and internationally as soon as make sure that I secure the trademark for it how do I go about getting the trademark registered? He goes on to ask me to Suggest the proper or best business structure to maximize profit, minimize liability and protect my assets from taxes and judgements, so he will have the most latitude to operate his business on a global scale with minimal risks. Well, this is a great, and complex question. First off, a trademark is... A distinctive word, symbol, or phrase that's affixed to goods or services in commerce as an indicator to identify their source or origin. Trademarks are Brands... Just like the brands that used to be burned into the hides of cattle to identify the ranch they came from. You acquire trademark rights by actually using the mark in interstate commerce to sell goods or services. Trademarks protect only against others using the same or confusingly similar marks in the same class of goods and services. So, if you have a trademark for a particular brand of medical device, you probably can't prevent the same mark being used for a line of shoes, or as a title for a TV series... Now, because we are talking about what the person describes as a "generic phrase" it's probably not distinctive enough for trademark registration just by itself. But, the inclusion of a stylized letter and distinctive design might make it registrable as a logo design. Now, the process isn't that hard. Nowadays, we do the applications online, and it's a step by step process. But it can be tricky because how you complete the application can have a big impact on whether or not the application gets approved. You might, for example, need to disclaim certain aspects of the mark, like the generic phrase in our readers’ situation. Or, selecting the right kinds of specimens of use to ensure maximum coverage and protection. It's also possible to go too narrow or too broad in the description of goods and services and risk being underwrote the, or possibly losing your mark later if you're discovers to have overstated the scope of your use of the mark. The best way to ensure your trademark gets registered, and you get all the benefits and protections, is to have a lawyer prepare the application for you. Those of us who do this a lot have learned about all the problem areas, and have a handle on the best practices to get things done right. My experience is that folks who do it themselves have their applications rejected more often, and then, unfortunately have to hire me to fix the problems they encounter. That usually costs as much or more than they'd have paid me to do the registration in the first place. Your trademarks, your brands, may someday be the most valuable assets your business owns. So, it makes sense to invest a little bit now to protect them, when doing so is relatively easy. Rather than paying a lot to clean up messes later. --- So, what's the proper or best business structure to maximize profit, minimize liability and protect assets from taxes and judgements? Well, there are several kinds of legal structures that can help on this. The most common, and most established is the corporation, which provides insulation from liability for shareholders. But corporations come with some administrative hoops you need to jump through, and they have to pay taxes separately, so income can sometimes be taxed twice. Sub chapter S corporations are for small, closely held companies, like family owned enterprises, and similar, where there are a small handful of shareholders... These corporations can be taxed like a partnership, where profits pass through directly to shareholders, so that double taxation doesn't happen. But these corporations also have the administrative hoops I mentioned before. An LLC offers most of the advantages of corporations, but can be taxed as a pass through entity, and don't have the same administrative hoops, but they’re not as well established forms of entities, and can have other tricky aspects. The bottom line is, I just can't give a general answer here. Every business is different, so you need to consult with an experienced business attorney (like me) who can help evaluate the situation and advise you accordingly. Getting this stuff right is important, and it's always best to handle these things as you're starting up, so you don't wind up having to backtrack, or unwind transactions later on when your structure changes. Invest a bit now, so you don't overspend on fixes later. And that’s going to do it for this video… If you have a question you'd like to see here on Asked and Answered, just visit http://firemark.com/questions and let me know. See you next time!

How to make a Brand Logo In Photoshop with best geometric logo maker app PSD

45:26
Learn how to make a brand logo and how to create a logo design layout in Adobe Photoshop for beginners using the Redartmedia1 approach. I'm going to show you how I approach Logo designs and how you can copy my approach on where to get your ideas and inspiration from after your client gives you instructions on what they may need from you. Meanwhile Im going to share a little insight on the history of logos with you. Graphic symbols and elements that we witness around us today are conclusive answers from numerous graphic techniques studied and implemented in the last two centuries. From floral and artsy to minimalist and flat, the history and evolution of logo design techniques have shaped our present understanding of shapes and symbols. Once you go through this interactive microsite, you will realize the importance of logos in everyday life and how they have evolved over the last two centuries. Do you find Apple’s logo history mesmerizing? Or Starbucks logo mysterious? These famous logos mark important milestones in the history and evolution of logo, a philosophy of design that have long helped us recite a thousand words of speech through one single symbol. This international movement redefined the usage of decorative elements in logo design by using simple forms in medieval, romantic and folk styles of decoration with heavy textures and illustrated initials. This movement serves as a bridge between traditional Victorian era values and the modern movement. Check out the best logos of this movement. Art Nouveau style is a popular graphic design philosophy best known for its flat, outlined illustrations and hand-drawn typefaces. This new-found art movement inspired logo designers to adopt natural forms and structures in their logo designs. Early modern was a time when graphic designers broke-free from traditional roots of designing and went on to experiment with traditional design styles. The logo designs were geometrically perfect with minimalistic approach having clean type and photos instead of illustrations. This was the era when logo designers started putting logo design functions before its form, something that prevails even today. German Expressionism is a style of logo designing that is charged with an emotional and spiritual vision of the world. It adopts the neo-noir form of designing with straight angular lines, geometric figures, abstract shapes, and religious and cultural elements in typical black and white colors. Art Deco is an eclectic style that combines traditional craft motifs with mechanical elements and materials. You can spot a product of Art Deco design by the usage of rich colors, bold geometric shapes and lavish ornamentation. Such logos represent luxury, glamour, exuberance and faith in social and technological progress. The Late Modern Era was a period in arts when a non-decorative approach was implemented, which produced logo designs with new simplicity. Late Modern era design styles simplified and dramatized the integration of text and image by either pictorial collage elements or overlapping shapes in logo design. Postmodernism was a time when graphic designers re-established interest in ornamentation, symbolism and visual wit. This era challenged designers’ obsession with progress and deliberately violated the Bauhaus tenet. You can easily identify postmodern logo designs by simply looking for funny-looking characters, odd color combination and random textures. The Digital era isn't exactly a historical movement because it’s happening in real time even today. In fact, Digital era logos are not about being just digital, they can be anything they choose to be, like; messy, chaotic, extreme, absurd, layered, illegible, unstable, expressive, poetic, and a bit grungy. Minimalism is a style that uses pared-down design elements (sans stylistic element) to offer illusions of three dimension and is focused on a minimalist use of simple elements, typography and flat colors in logo designs. It has been termed by logo designers as one of the finest techniques since it allows user interface designs to be more streamlined and efficient. Logo design has come a very long over the last 200 years. Over time, open innovation and a collaborative approach have changed the dynamics of the graphic design industry. And when it comes to open innovation, the one name that probably comes to mind is YOU! You can now do your own or do designs for others starting at the standard of $259 and up.

Everything You Need to Know About PUMA's Iconic Cat Logo

04:21
From its early days commemorating founder Rudolf Dassler to its current "No.1 Logo," here's everything you need to know about the evolution and history of PUMA's iconic cat logo. Since its establishment in 1948, PUMA has become one of the most prominent sport and lifestyle brands in the world. Most recently, the German company has found fresh success by recruiting a number of entertainers as ambassadors and collaborators, including Rihanna, Big Sean, and Selena Gomez. Here, however, we’re focusing on the origins of the brand’s iconic logo. PUMA’s original logo featured a puma cat leaping through a capital “D,” which stood for Dassler as a nod to brand founder Rudolf Dassler. The motif was updated in 1957 with the addition of the word “PUMA” underneath the cat. A year later, the words “Rudolf,” “Dassler,” and “Schuhfabrik” (shoe factory) were added to the design. In 1968, the logo was stripped down to feature a leaping puma with no border or text, and two years later, the design was refined once again, this time by cartoonist Lutz Backes. Following experiments with two different fonts in the mid-’70s, PUMA settled on the uppercase script that remains to this day, adding the silhouette of a puma leaping over the upper-right corner of the text. This design from 1979 remains largely untouched to this day. For a more detailed history of PUMA’s iconic emblem, hit play on the video above.
