An awe-inspiring engineering feat, Dubai Palm Islands is definitely the largest artificial islands on earth. These Islands are three man made islands in the form of massive palm trees connected to the beaches of Dubai. The first island is the Palm Jumeirah, Jebel Ali Palm second and the third is the Palm Deira which is the biggest of them all. This artificial archipelago located off the coastline of United Arab Emirates in Persian Gulf. Dubai islands project was commissioned by Sheikh Mohammed in an effort to maximize beachfront property. Dubai's palm tree-shaped resort island on land built from the sea will contribute 120 km of beaches. Aside from the construction of the ambitious expansion, there is also the problem of constructing a mini city, which consists of 4,500 high-end residential homes, miles of roads, luxurious hotels and many amenities that will require basic human resources including electricity, safe drinking water and many more. This enormous project will position Dubai as one of the top tourist destinations in the world. I will tell you why these islands have appeared and that they must satisfy. Dubai is an emirate that open sea about 50 km (an estimate) and the sites required for building projects are on the beach. To view course and especially to "park" in front of the yacht's property or even assembly. Well when the beach was not available, and demand persists, the beach had invented. And it appeared artificial islands. Hence so sophisticated forms of the islands: they had to provide a larger opening to the ocean. This new concept quickly caught on. 'Only a' product 'high-end, the latest wrinkle in the most creative developers metropolis. A new source of land, location of the trick of the planet Earth! The job went, the two islands were settled immediately, with mixed development, spectacular, exorbitant, and finally in Dubai's specific style ... In parallel to the World archipelago started building and other projects are still on the drawing board Nakheel, developer. But crisis compels us to winter a little ... Where is the dream of similar islands: In Lebanon, wants to build a cedar shaped islands, the symbol of this country. Russia wants to try an island / an archipelago in Black in Sochi at the 2014 Olympics, at least that is speaking through the past years. Also in Japan there are several large airports built on artificial islands. The Palm Islands are artificial peninsulas constructed of sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf by the Belgian company Jan De Nul and the Dutch company Van Oord. The sand is sprayed by the dredging ships, which are guided by DGPS, onto the required area in a process known as rain-bowing because of the arcs in the air when the sand is sprayed. The outer edge of each Palm's encircling crescent is a large rock breakwater. The breakwater of the Palm Jumeirah has over seven million tons of rock. The Palm Islands are an artificial archipelago (islands) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Major commercial and residential infrastructures will be constructed by Nakheel Properties, a property developer in The UAE. The Belgian and Dutch dredging and marine contractors, Jan De Nul and Van Oord, some of the world's specialists in land reclamation, were hired to complete construction. The islands are the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali and the Palm Deira. Each settlement will be in the shape of a palm tree, topped with a crescent. The settlements will have a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment centers. The Palm Islands are located off the coast of The UAE in the Persian Gulf and will add 520 kilometers of beaches to the city of Dubai. The first two islands will comprise of approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand. The Palm Deira will be composed of approximately one billion cubic meters of rock and sand. All materials will be quarried in The UAE. Among the three islands, there will be over 100 luxury hotels, exclusive residential beach side villas and apartments, marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls, sports facilities and health spas. The creation of the Palm Jumeirah began in June 2001. Shortly after, the Palm Jebel Ali was announced and reclamation work began. The Palm Deira is planned to have a surface area of 46.35 square kilometers and was announced for development in October 2004. GC Privé ~ A world of luxury www.gcprive.com

As night falls on certain beaches around the world, the waves glow with an eerie blue light, neon dots that make it look as though stars are washing up on shore. What you’re seeing is actually millions of microscopic organisms called bioluminescent phytoplankton. Some of the most spectacular photographs have been captured from one location, Vaadhoo island, Maldives, which has been nick named the sea of stars. The Maldives is a tropical nation in the Indian Ocean composed of 26 ring-shaped atolls, which are made up of more than 1,000 coral islands. Thanks for watching. ____________________________________________________________________ ► Wonder World Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/wonderworld.ytc.10 ► Wonder World Twitter - https://twitter.com/WonderWorld_YTC For business enquiries, content submission or copyright concerns or disputes, please contact us me

Tropical Islands Resort is Europe's largest tropical holiday resort, situated in the world's largest blimp hanger in Germany. The Resort is actually located, on the site of a former Soviet Military Air Base in Krausnick, Germany, inside a hangar built originally to house zeppelin airships, designed to haul long-distance cargo. This gargantuan hangar is huge, and is the biggest free-standing hall in the world., it is 1,181 feet long, 689 feet wide, and 351 feet tall. To put that in perspective, you can fit inside eight football fields and the Statue of Liberty, or you could slide the Eiffel tower in on it’s side. The rainforest is said to be the biggest indoor rainforest replica in the world, and is home to 50,000 plants of 600 different species, plus various exotic birds, turtles and fish, there is also a 3,000 square metres Sea with a 200-metre-long beach that stretches along its shoreline. If you are interested in going, you can expect to pay about $49 euros for a day tick for per adult, and about $120 euro if you are staying the night. We stayed one week at this amazing place. It was by far one of our favourite places. The resort was incredible! Almost no people! Amazing beach with warm transparent water. A lot of different animals (monkeys jumping around on the top of the trees, big lizards, baby sharks, etc.) I loved it and would return there in a heart beat! Vaadhoo is one of the inhabited islands of Raa Atoll, Maldives. Vaadhoo island is famous for the 'sea of stars.' This marine bioluminescence is generated by phytoplankton known as dinoflagellates. Woodland Hastings of Harvard University has for the first time identified a special channel in the dinoflagellate cell membrane that responds to electrical signals—offering a potential mechanism for how the algae create their unique illumination.

From Tokyo's Disneyland an incredible tourist attraction to the man-made islands w/ beautiful beaches & resorts perfect to visit Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 6. Ile Aux Cygnes This smalls artificial island is located on the River Seine in Paris and was created in 1827 in order to protect the port of Grenelle. Ile aux cygnes translates to the Island of Swans. It’s uninhabited for the most part except for this replica of Lady Liberty that stands about 70 feet tall, facing the direction of her much larger sister in New York City. It was originally facing the direction of the Eiffel Tower but ... 5. Nanhai Pearl Island This artificial island located off the coast of Holiday beach in China is currently under construction and will be an enormous tourist attraction with hotels, shipyard, cruiseships and a theme park. It currently has one bridge that connects it to the mainland of Hainan China. China has become notorious lately with their construction of artificial islands. They caused some controversy when they began constructing many islands and then militarizing them and turning them into airbase fortresses of the China Sea, which we’ll get into more later. But this one here is supposed to be for touristic purposes. Construction began in April 2016 and consists of a round, crescent shaped body, and somewhat seems like a response to Dubai’s artificial islands. 4. Islands of Uros The Uros people of Peru live very simple lives on floating artificial islands. These islands are actually made of reeds that grow on the edges of Lake Titicaca. These reeds are harvested, bundled tightly and small settlements are built on top of them. The Uros are very mysterious people and legend has it that they have black blood and have seemingly magical tolerance to cold weather. The purpose of the island settlements were originally for defensive purposes and if they came into threats from invading tribes they could simply move their homes on this islands. Each island houses anywhere from 2-10 families depending on the size. Local residents enjoy a variety of different resources that Lake titicaca provides which include, a large variety of fish, birds such as flamingos and even graze cattle on their islands. Simply fascinating. 3. Palm Jumeirah How would you feel about living on an extremely large man made island in the Persian Gulf? Sounds like it could be intriguing. These also belong to the flamboyant United Arab Emirates. But instead of taking the shape of the world, these cluster of islands are shaped like a palm tree and are much utilized than it’s neighboring chain of islands. The palm tree consists of a trunk that acts like a bridge to the mainland with 16 fronds and a surrounding crescent shaped island. This is the home the to luxurious Palm Atlantis Hotel which began construction in 2001. This adds an extra 40 miles to Dubai’s coastline and was built with over 7 million tons of stone. They kept the nearby ecosystem in mind and used natural rock to encourage natural reef creation by the sea life. 2. Thilafushi Maldives The Maldives are known for being an excellent resort country in the middle of the indian ocean. Its beautiful beaches are flocked to by millions of tourists each year. One of its least popular islands, however, isn’t really natural. The thilafushi island is built on top of reclaimed coral reefs in 1992 not to house a 5 star resort, but to house the garbage left by tourists and locals alike. It was built as a landfill and given the nickname garbage island. In 2005, it’s estimated that 31000 truckloads of garbage were transported to this island each year and it continues to grow each year at the rate of 365,000 square feet a day! The BBC even described the waste on the island was apocalyptic. 1.Chinese War Islands In recent years, it’s been China’s goal to beef up their military presence especially in the South China Sea where these islands are located. Their building islands here on international waters at an exponential rate at there seems to be no end in sight. The US navy and rival Asian counterparts dispute these practices as being aggressive and unnecessary. This is part of their plan to build dominance as a commercial and military power and no one wants to tell them to stop. This guarantees that tension in this area will continue to rise especially as Vietnam, Australia and the Philippines don’t appreciate this one bit. Just because it’s called the China Sea, doesn’t make it theirs! It’s a crucial trade route with more than 5 trillion dollars worth of international shipping each year, in which China has no historical ties with. If something isn’t done about these islands soon, it could very well lead to world war 3.

10 Most Dangerous Islands In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many beautiful islands all over the planet. Some of them are beautiful destinations which many people head to for vacation spots or just to get away from society. But stunning as they may be, there are islands that hold just as much danger as they hold beauty. Check out these 10 Most Dangerous Islands In The World. 10. Tristan da Cunha - The British island group of Tristan da Cunha stands profoundly alone in the South Atlantic. It’s the world’s most remote inhabited island. It is so precariously occupied that when a volcanic vent erupted in 1961, the whole population was evacuated to England. 9. Rockall Ireland - Don't be embarrassed if you've never heard of Rockall. Most people haven't. It's probably because Rockall is one of the most desolate, despairing places on earth. This tiny island is constantly buffeted by 34-knot winds and pummeled by 30 foot and occasionally higher ocean swells. 8. Bear Island - Bjornoya, better known as Bear Island, is the southernmost island in the Arctic Archipelago of Svalbard, 400 miles north of mainland Europe -- but only on paper, given that it's almost 150 miles south of the Norwegian island chain with which it's lumped. 7. Ramree Island - Ramree Island is considered to be one of the most dangerous in the world after harboring a dark secret which resulted in the of hundreds of people. The island off the coast of Burma was a big part of World War II with some battles taking place within it. In 1945, British soldiers drove Japanese fighters off the main part of the island into the dense mangrove forests. 6. Farallon Islands - Named for the Spanish farallón, meaning a rocky pillar jutting from the sea, the Farallones was called “the devil’s teeth” by sailors in the 1850s for their ragged profile and treacherous shores, the cause of many a shipwreck. 5. Hashima Island - located 15 kilometers from Nagasaki, is reputed to be a tourism heaven on earth. However, it contains the graves of hundreds of Chinese. Hashima Island could once claim the title of the most densely-populated spot on the planet. 4. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is the world’s largest collection of floating trash, and for whatever reasons aside from human stupidity, is the most famous. It lies between Hawaii and California and is often described as being “larger than Texas,” even though it contains not a square foot of surface on which to stand. 3. Saba Island - The island of Saba rises majestically from clear azure waters, stretching its summit to caress the clouds... It is like no other Caribbean destination. Untouched by the quickening pace of the modern world, an island caught within a moment. 2. Miyake-Jima, Japan - About 160 kilometers south of Tokyo is the town of Miyake-Jima, sitting at the base of the volcano that shares its name. This town is covered with a cloud of harmful Sulphur dioxide gas, spewed into the air by volcanic eruptions. The area’s cold and heavy weather systems make it worse. 1. The Island of the Dolls, Mexico - The Island of the Dolls, or in Spanish, La Isla de las Munecas, is one really creepy spot. The island, which is fairly close to Mexico City, is overflowing with dolls hanging from trees. Myths abound about the island. It's a well known resort, isolated on its own beach and peninsula - and actually I didn't even know this at first, but you have to take a small boat ride to get there - you can't even drive there.

The Red Sea Project will be fully completed in 2030. The approved master plan will steer the development of 22 of the 90+ islands at the destination, providing up to 10,000 hotel rooms across island resorts, mountain retreats and desert hideaways. The destination will also offer luxury residential properties and a wide range of commercial, retail and recreational facilities. The first phase of the project, one of the world’s most ambitious tourism projects, will open on the west coast of Saudi Arabia in 2022. It includes 14 luxury and hyper-luxury hotels providing 3,000 rooms across five islands and two inland resorts. Phase One will also include yacht marinas, leisure and lifestyle amenities and an airport to serve the destination, as well as the necessary supporting logistics and utilities infrastructure.

The Coral Sea Islands Territory is an external territory of Australia which comprises a group of small and mostly uninhabited tropical islands and reefs in the Coral Sea. The only inhabited island is Willis Island. The territory covers 780,000 km2, most of which is ocean, extending east and south from the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. 2. Willis Island is the only permanently inhabited island in the Coral Sea Islands Territory. The Willis Island weather monitoring station was established in 1921 and equipped with a radio transmitter in order to provide a cyclone early warning service for Queensland. There are usually four weather observers. 3. In 2004, the Gay and Lesbian Kingdom of the Coral Sea Islands was declared as a sovereign state as a symbolic political protest by a group of gay rights activists based in Australia in response to the Australian government's refusal to recognise same-sex marriages. The Kingdom was dissolved on 17 November 2017 following the decision made by the Australian people to legalize gay marriage. 4. Australia's Coral Sea is one of the last places on Earth where ocean giants—sharks, tunas, marlin—still abound. Yet less than 1 percent of the Coral Sea is permanently protected from fishing, oil and gas exploration and seabed mining. 5. The Great Barrier Reef, a part of the Coral Sea just off of Australia’s northeastern Queensland coast, is the world’s largest coral reef. The reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, can be seen from space and is larger than the Great Wall of China. 6. There are about 30 separate reefs and atolls, twelve being wholly submerged or drying only during low tide, and 18 others with a total of about 51 islets and cays (18 alone on the atoll Lihou Reef), some of which are vegetated. 7. The Battle of the Coral Sea, fought from 4 to 8 May 1942, was a major naval battle between the Imperial Japanese Navy and naval and air forces from the United States and Australia, taking place in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. The battle is historically significant as the first action in which aircraft carriers engaged each other, as well as the first in which neither side's ships sighted or fired directly upon the other. On the Sea Islands along the coasts of South Carolina and Georgia, a painful chapter of American history is playing out again. These islands are home to the Gullah or Geechee people, the descendants of enslaved Africans who were brought to work at the plantations that once ran down the southern Atlantic coast. After the Civil War, many former slaves on the Sea Islands bought portions of the land where their descendants have lived and farmed for generations. That property, much of it undeveloped waterfront land, is now some of the most expensive real estate in the country. But the Gullah are now discovering that land ownership on the Sea Islands isn’t quite what it seemed. Local landowners are struggling to hold on to their ancestral land as resort developers with deep pockets exploit obscure legal loopholes to force the property into court-mandated auctions. These tactics have successfully fueled a tourism boom that now attracts more than 2 million visitors a year. Gullah communities have all but disappeared, replaced by upscale resorts and opulent gated developments that new locals — golfers, tourists, and mostly white retirees — fondly call “plantations.” Faced with an epic case of déjà vu, the Gullah are scrambling for solutions as their livelihood and culture vanish, one waterfront mansion at a time.
