https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dynamic-Pie-Concepts/162163230620405 http://instagram.com/dynamicpieconcepts To maintain survivability an operator must possess inter weapon system awareness providing for autonomous kinetic targeting. By synchronizing the manual of arms to the Earth's rotation, economy of motion is maintained. Utilizing centrifugal force allows for rapid jettisoning of an ammunition feeding device. Whether for ammunition hand off or critical attack capabilities. Leveraging and synchronizing capabilities at a primary component level requires less time and less steps than introducing a secondary munitions delivery device. Shortening the kill chain and ultimately reducing friction within an operator's decision cycle. When prioritizing kinetic options to render defensive enablers ineffective- integrating improved methodologies produces a mechanism to deny and bypass an adversary's asymmetric battle space advantage. The Future of Figurative Art and Painting ( Full Version) - June 22nd, 2016

02:03:32
Recorded on June 22, 2016 at Booth Gallery NYC. www.paulboothgallery.com and organised by Casey Gleghorn, Director of Booth Gallery. Artist and writer David Molesky moderated a conversation with world-renowned art critic Donald Kuspit and master figurative artists Vincent Desiderio, Julie Heffernan, and Adam Miller. With the Odd Nerdrum exhibition Crime and Refuge as backdrop, the conversation examined today’s Renaissance of figurative art, as well as discuss the responsibilities and collective opportunities to shape the evolution of human culture. The panel discussed figurative representations of irony, beauty, gender, race, and morality while tapping into the core of shared humanity. “In previous decades, humanist figurative art was relegated to fringe relevance, demoted by modernist critics as ‘kitsch sentimentality’. But now the voice and opinion of the masses is having greater sway in both art markets and museums. The Internet allows anyone to easily research and form his or her own opinion. And social media platforms allow people to cast its popular vote. In addition, support has come from publications which have risen in parallel with the Internet. For example, Juxtapoz magazine was founded with the intention to support art formerly excluded from the canon of the Avant-guard, and is today the #1 international art magazine. Just as we can no longer ignore these new measures of relevance, we can no longer ignore the popularity and rising status of figurative art. With this greater visibility and influence comes greater responsibility. This is a moment of great opportunity to adjust the misdirected myths of the past and sculpt a new vision for humanity. Using the past as our springboard, we can launch humanity into a future that is informed by greater global consciousness and elevated empathy.” - David Molesky Vincent Desiderio is a New York based painter represented by Marlborough Gallery. His rich figurative narrative work is part of museum collections worldwide, including the Hirshhorn, the Met, the Denver Art Museum, and many others. Julie Heffernan is a New York based painter represented by PPOW in Chelsea. She is Professor of Fine Arts at Montclair State University. Her illustrious paintings have been exhibited internationally and are included in Brooklyn museum collection and other museums. Donald Kuspit is a world-renowned curator, art critic, and author of numerous publications including The End of Art. A distinguished professor emeritus of art history and philosophy at State University at Stony Brook, Kuspit holds degrees from many top institutions and he is regarded as the foremost practitioner of psychoanalytic art criticism. Adam Miller is a New York based painter represented by Richard Demato Gallery. His dense complex figurative narrative paintings are held in major private collections across the United States and Europe. David Molesky is a New York based painter, curator, and frequent contributor to Juxtapoz magazine and other publications. Casey Gleghorn at [email protected] for questions.

Maynard James Keenan: The Art of Work Pt. 1 (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Caduceus Cellars)

07:52
WATCH THE FULL SERIES HERE: https://bit.ly/2HgpaVv Tucked in the Black Hills of Yavapai County, Arizona, Jerome has long attracted intrepid characters. In the late 1800s, prospectors descended on the historic town looking to capitalize on its rich copper mines. Over a hundred years later, a different type of pioneer arrived: Maynard James Keenan. The Tool, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle frontman has carved out a uniquely anti-rock-star life in this rugged terrain, filled with winemaking, farming and community building. For two days this past July, Keenan extended a very special invitation to Revolver to join him during this summer's grape harvest. In Episode 1 of our multi-part series, he reveals how his work in Jerome helps create the friction that ignites his creativity.

ART JOURNAL IDEAS: Bucket List - Collage page with paper, magazine cuts, acrylic paint

10:14
Art Journaling Ideas: How to make a BUCKET LIST using paper, magazine cuts, collage and acrylic paint. As my bucket list would be too long, if I stated every single thing that I want to do before I "hit the bucket", I figured out six main categories of things I want to do, and I made a "Polaroid photo" representing each category. The most creative and fun part of this project was actually finding symbols for each category. I think it helps me to keep on the right track and it also helps me to appreciate all the things that I'm going to achieve even if there's not a detailed list that I could cross out. It's also better, because my wishes keep changing as I'm adjusting to things that come across my journey. I printed out small Polaroid cards that I made myself, but you can also find templates on the internet, if you like to do something like this - or just cut out small rectangles from white paper. I used thick white paper (160 g/m2). Great art journal page idea for beginners as well! I hope you like this video tutorial! Like, share and leave a comment, if you did! :) More ideas and inspiration on Christmas crafts, card making, art journaling, mixed media and scrapbooking - Subscribe to my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS3llEptFdV06K2t7hWcPRg Visit my website: http://www.gamescraftscoloring.com/ Thank you so much for watching :) See you in my next video! The Best of Flair: The First Magazine That Became An Art Form

02:33
This highly sought-after volume detailing one of the most influential magazines of the twentieth century is now back in print at a newly affordable price. In 1950, Fleur Cowles established what would become one of the most important and talked about magazines ever created. Critically lauded for its sharp mix of clothes, literature, art, travel, decor, theater, and humor, Flair made publishing history with its combination of eclectic editorial content and lavish production quality. Recalled as "the first magazine that became an art form," The Best of Flair is a compilation of the magazine's best content as chosen by the woman who created it. Along with its distinctive production values, Flair also features interviews and contributions from some of the most noted artists and celebrities of the past fifty years, including Lucian Freud, Jean Cocteau, Tallulah Bankhead, Saul Steinberg, Salvador Dalí, Simone de Beauvoir, Walker Evans, James Michener, Ogden Nash, Gypsy Rose Lee, Clare Boothe Luce, George Bernard Shaw, John O'Hara, Margaret Mead, and Tennessee Williams. The Art of Criticism with Jerry Saltz | Art Agency, Partners

38:59
http://www.artagencypartners.com/podcast/jerry-saltz/ “In Other Words” is a presentation of AAP and Sotheby’s, produced by Audiation.fm. Jerry Saltz, perhaps the most well-known art writer working today, has been the senior art critic of New York magazine since 2006. During this interview with our host Charlotte Burns, which was recorded in the downtown offices of New York magazine, Saltz talks about a range of topics: from how he approaches viewing and reviewing art, to what he calls the “ass-holeness” of his social media persona. Before becoming a critic, Saltz was an artist and a long-distance truck driver, and he discusses the benefits of being a late-bloomer. He defines what great art means to him and describes a recent exhibition of work by an artist who could be the “strongest to emerge this century in America”. We are, he says, “living in a crisis and it’s time to look at the art of the present. I want to see what artists say now.” “In Other Words” is a presentation of AAP and Sotheby’s, produced by Audiation.fm. JERRY SALTZ -senior art critic and columnist, New York magazine Jerry Saltz has been New York magazine’s senior art critic and columnist since 2006. Previously, Saltz was the senior art critic for The Village Voice. He has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in criticism three times, has been a visiting critic at major universities and has contributed to Art in America, Flash Art International, Frieze and Modern Painters. Saltz uses social media platforms to communicate with a more general audience than the readers of his art criticism, discussing issues beyond art such as personal matters and the political climate. He has also served as a judge in the Bravo television series Work of Art: The Next Great Artist. Saltz has published two books, Seeing Out Loud: The Village Voice Art Columns (2003, reprinted 2007) and Seeing Out Louder (2009). CHARLOTTE BURNS -editor of In Other Words Charlotte Burns is the editor of In Other Words, our weekly newsletters and podcasts. She was previously the US news and market editor for The Art Newspaper, as well as a regular correspondent for publications such as the Guardian and Monocle. The Art of Harvey Kurtzman

05:18
Featuring interviews with Al Jaffee and Robert Grossman Music by Nik Turner's Fantastic All Stars Produced by Damen Corrado Directed by Phil Weaver Cartoonist Harvey Kurtzman (1924-1993) founded the satirical MAD magazine in 1952 and forever altered the way young readers experienced the media and consumer culture around them. As the late film critic Roger Ebert explained, "I learned to be a movie critic by reading MAD magazine. I learned a lot of other things from the magazine too, including a whole new slant on society. MAD's parodies made me aware of the machine inside the skin--of the way a movie might look original on the outside, while inside it was just recycling the same dumb old formulas. I did not read the magazine, I plundered it for clues to the universe." After MAD, Kurtzman worked with a team of artists including Al Jaffee, Jack Davis and Will Elder on a series of short-lived but influential publications, including TRUMP, HUMBUG and HELP! At HELP!, a fortuitous nexus of nascent sketch comedy and underground "comix," Kurtzman worked with then unknowns Woody Allen, Gloria Steinem and R. Crumb, among many others. Terry Gilliam, who met John Cleese while working there, considered Kurtzman "one of the godparents of Monty Python." The Society of Illustrators in NYC is hosting a retrospective exhibition on Harvey Kurtzman through May 11, 2013: http://www.societyillustrators.org/The-Museum/2013/Harvey-Kurtzman/The-Art-of-Harvey-Kurtzman.aspx http://www.rogerebert.com/rogers-journal/introduction-mad-about-the-movies
