What is STRUCTURED PRODUCT? What does STRUCTURED PRODUCT mean? STRUCTURED PRODUCT meaning - STRUCTURED PRODUCT definition - STRUCTURED PRODUCT explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ In structured finance, a structured product, also known as a market-linked investment, is a pre-packaged investment strategy based on derivatives, such as a single security, a basket of securities, options, indices, commodities, debt issuance or foreign currencies, and to a lesser extent, swaps. The variety of products just described is demonstrative of the fact that there is no single, uniform definition of a structured product. A feature of some structured products is a "principal guarantee" function, which offers protection of principal if held to maturity. For example, an investor invests $100, the issuer simply invests in a risk-free bond that has sufficient interest to grow to $100 after the five-year period. This bond might cost $80 today and after five years it will grow to $100. With the leftover funds the issuer purchases the options and swaps needed to perform whatever the investment strategy. Theoretically an investor can just do this themselves, but the cost and transaction volume requirements of many options and swaps are beyond many individual investors. As such, structured products were created to meet specific needs that cannot be met from the standardized financial instruments available in the markets. Structured products can be used as an alternative to a direct investment, as part of the asset allocation process to reduce risk exposure of a portfolio, or to utilize the current market trend. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rule 434 (regarding certain prospectus deliveries) defines structured securities as "securities whose cash flow characteristics depend upon one or more indices or that have embedded forwards or options or securities where an investor's investment return and the issuer's payment obligations are contingent on, or highly sensitive to, changes in the value of underlying assets, indices, interest rates or cash flows". The Pacific Stock Exchange defines structured products as "products that are derived from and/or based on a single security or securities, a basket of stocks, an index, a commodity, debt issuance and/or a foreign currency, among other things" and include "index and equity linked notes, term notes and units generally consisting of a contract to purchase equity and/or debt securities at a specific time". Structured product business, as a key part of customer-driven derivatives business, has changed dramatically in recent years. Its modern setup requires comprehensive understanding of: Prevailing regulatory environment, the impact of existing and forthcoming regulations including MIFID II, KYC, PRIIPs - KIDs, etc; Principles of risk-based capital/liquidity requirements specified by Basel 3, FRTB, etc; Structured product manufacture process, effective derivatives business value chain linking trading, structuring, quantitative modelling and risk management; Structured product distribution channels, product wrappers, impact of e-platforms; Structured product payoff features and their risk characteristics; Real-life quantitative pricing models able to handle multi-curve environments, volatility smile/skew, etc. The risks associated with many structured products, especially those that present risks of loss of principal due to market movements, are similar to risks involved with options. The serious risks in options trading are well-established and customers must be explicitly approved for options trading. The U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) suggests that firms "consider" whether purchasers of some or all structured products should be required to go through a similar approval process, so that only accounts approved for options trading would also be approved for some or all structured products.

Whether we talk about goods or services, we can say, usually, people are not just buying a product that solves one of their basic needs. They acquire the benefits and satisfaction they believe they’ll obtain from the product. They are interested in symbols and ideas that help them relate the product to a desired lifestyle and positive expectations about the future. Customers do not simply buy products because they satisfy their needs. Instead, they are interested in becoming clients of firms that offer them a complete product concept – an idea or a promise, if you will. The best products make people happier and create a positive expectation before being consumed.

What is BY-PRODUCT? What does BY-PRODUCT mean? BY-PRODUCT meaning, definition & explanation

What is BY-PRODUCT? What does BY-PRODUCT mean? BY-PRODUCT meaning - BY-PRODUCT pronunciation - BY-PRODUCT definition - BY-PRODUCT explanation - How to pronounce BY-PRODUCT? Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ A by-product is a secondary product derived from a manufacturing process or chemical reaction. It is not the primary product or service being produced. In the context of production, a by-product is the 'output from a joint production process that is minor in quantity and/or net realizable value (NRV) when compared to the main products'. Because they are deemed to have no influence on reported financial results, by-products do not receive allocations of joint costs. By-products also by convention are not inventoried, but the NRV from by-products is typically recognized as 'other income' or as a reduction of joint production processing costs when the by-product is produced. A by-product can be useful and marketable or it can be considered waste. IEA defines "by-product" in the context of life-cycle assessment: "... main products, co-products (which involve similar revenues to the main product), by-products (which result in smaller revenues), and waste products (which provide little or no revenue)."

A simple guide to electronic components.

38:06
By request:- A basic guide to identifying components and their functions for those who are new to electronics. This is a work in progress, and I welcome feedback from you guys on whether I should break it down into more manageable chunks. I've kept the maths to a minimum, since it can be off-putting to someone just getting started in electronics. The idea of this video is to slot in some more of the jigsaw pieces involved in learning electronics, when you start to recognise components, but aren't quite sure what they are or what they do. It's tricky to squeeze even the basics into a single video, and I've just realised how long this one is (and why it took all night to upload). If you enjoy my videos you can support the channel with a dollar for coffee, cookies and components at https://www.patreon.com/bigclive

What is Gross Domestic Product (GDP)?

04:36
Picture the economy as a giant supermarket, with billions of goods and services inside. At the checkout line, you watch as the cashier rings up the price for each finished good or service sold. What have you just observed? The cashier is computing a very important number: gross domestic product, or GDP. GDP is the market value of all finished goods and services, produced within a country in a year. But, what does "market value" mean? And what defines a "finished good"? These, and more questions, percolate inside your head. Meanwhile, the cashier starts ringing up the total, and you’re left confused. An array of things pass by you — A bottle of wine. A carton of eggs. A cake from the local bakers. A tractor, of all things. A bunch of ballpens. A bag of flour. In this video, join us as we show you how to make sense of this important economic indicator. You’ll learn how GDP is computed, and you’ll get answers to some pretty interesting questions along the way. Questions like, “Why are the eggs in my homemade omelet part of the GDP, but the eggs my baker uses are not? Why does my bottle of French wine contribute to France’s GDP, even if I bought it in the United States?” Most importantly, you’ll also learn why polar bears aren’t part of the GDP computation, even if they’re incredibly cute. So, buckle in for a bit—in the following videos we’ll dive into specifics on GDP. What is WHITE LABEL PRODUCT? What does WHITE LABEL PRODUCT mean? WHITE LABEL PRODUCT meaning

04:17
What is WHITE LABEL PRODUCT? What does WHITE LABEL PRODUCT mean? WHITE LABEL PRODUCT meaning - WHITE LABEL PRODUCT definition - WHITE LABEL PRODUCT explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. A white label product is a product or service produced by one company (the producer) that other companies (the marketers) rebrand to make it appear as if they had made it. The name derives from the image of a white label on the packaging that can be filled in with the marketer's trade dress. Its origins can be traced to vinyl records. Before records were to be released to the public, often before official artwork was designed and printed, promotional copies were sent out in a white sleeve to DJs to solicit radio and nightclub play, in an effort to build hype and gauge public interest by the record labels, ultimately to better estimate manufacturing quantities. This created a situation where certain respected or well-connected DJs would have exclusive copies of material, immediately increasing demand on certain big records. Occasionally this term refers to records whose labels had been torn off or covered with a white label by competing DJs to conceal which records they were using. White label production is often used for mass-produced generic products including electronics, consumer products and software packages such as DVD players, televisions, and web applications. Some companies maintain a sub-brand for their goods, for example the same model of DVD player may be sold by Dixons as a Saisho and by Currys as a Matsui, which are brands exclusively used by those companies. Some websites use white labels to enable a successful brand to offer a service without having to invest in creating the technology and infrastructure itself. Many IT and modern marketing companies outsource or use white-label companies and services to provide specialist services without having to invest in developing their own product. Most supermarket private brand or store brand products are provided by companies that sell to multiple supermarkets, changing only the labels. In addition, some manufacturers create low-cost generic brand labels with only the name of the product ("Cola"). Richelieu Foods, for example, is a private label food manufacturing company producing frozen pizza, salad dressing, sauces, marinades, condiments, and deli salads for other companies, including Hy-Vee, Aldi, Save-A-Lot, Sam's Club, Hannaford Brothers Co., BJ's Wholesale Club (Earth's Pride brand), and Shaw's Supermarkets (Culinary Circle brand). Smaller banks sometimes outsource their credit-card or check processing operations to larger banks, which issues and processes the credit cards as white label cards, typically for a fee, allowing the smaller bank to brand the cards as their own without having to invest in the necessary infrastructure. A current example of this is Cuscal Limited providing white label card and transactional products to Credit Unions in Australia or Simple (formerly BankSimple) in the United States which issues bank accounts and debit cards operated by The Bancorp Bank. In Southern California, City National Bank (CNB) is the largest check processor in that half of the state, because in addition to checks issued by its own customers, CNB processes checks for the customers of more than 60 smaller Southern California banks. Many software companies offer white label software to agencies or other customers, including the possibility to resell the software under the customer’s brand. This typically requires functionalities such as the adaptation of the software’s visual appearance, multi-customer management and automatic billing to the end-customers based on usage parameters.

Dropshipping vs White Label Vs Creating Your Own Product | Effective Ecommerce Podcast #6

16:18
Get Your Free Online Store Success Pack Here: http://www.effectiveecommerce.com/ESstarting/ Effective Ecommerce Itunes: http://www.effectiveecommerce.com/itunes/ In this episode of the Effective Ecommerce Podcast. We're gonna be talking about Dropshipping versus White Labeling versus Creating your own Product. Now before I go any farther I do want to say that I actually I'm rear according this just for YouTube I messed up and I forgot to record the video for the podcast I did and you can actually watch the mess-up live I did a live YouTube stream I'm doing a you live YouTube stream every Wednesday at 5:00 PM PST or 8:00 PM EST. So you if you wanted to you could have saw my mess-up live. So I'm re-recording this just for YouTube so if I leave anything out please let me know please leave it in the comments down below but you can see the full original podcast episode or you can listen to it at least by going to iTunes looking for the effective e-commerce podcast so if you're in a podcast definitely check that out. But let's get started so the first thing I want to talk about here is what is the difference between Dropshipping, White Labeling, and creating your own products I think it's important to define the different terms there's Dropshipping which basically you act as a middleman customers buy stuff from you and then you turn around and tell the manufacturer where to ship it so an example of this might be you are the kayak king and you have a website kayak King com and you help pair people with certain kayaks so someone might come to your website buy a $500 kayak then you go around and you pay $400 to some manufacturer let's say you know Rugged Outdoors Kayaks you give them bucks and they ship it for you so there's a lot of benefits for this and we'll talk about the benefits in just a second the next thing we'll talk about is white labeling and define that white labeling is basically just taking a product that already exists nine times out of ten this is going to Alibaba or going to some kind of Chinese manufacturer and just sticking your logo on it and making it your own product even though there's nothing special about it there's nothing that makes it your own thing that company can turn around and White Label it as many companies as possible meaning you'll have as much competition as they want really an example of this would be you go to a Chinese manufacturer who bruises handheld fans. and you stick your logo on it and maybe it's Cool Breeze Fan and you're just you know whatever you're Fanning yourself with that and that's a white labeling a product so good thing about that is it's a little bit easier than creating your own product from scratch but the downside is anybody can do it it's not that hard another downside is you do have to pay for inventory so drop shipping is a little bit better because you don't have to pay for inventory in that regard but with all of these one of the issues you run across is the easier it is the easier it is for a competitor to come in and steal your lunch because it would suck if you're the kayak king and let's just say Should you start a Dropshipping site? Maybe white label some products? Or is it worth it to go and start your own company from Scratch? In this episode, we answer all these questions and compare and contrast. Redo all the way to the good things about drop shipping Dropshipping -Good for learning -B2B seems to work -Not as easy as a lot of gurus make it out to be -You are a middleman -A lot of downsides White Labeling -Good for Amazon -Makes sense Creating Your Own Product -I prefer this -You have something real, adding real value Online Store AZ Course -As mentioned earlier you can sign up for an online store using my links -Leave a 5-star review on Itunes for a chance to get a free consulting session

April 8, 2015 - California Senate Health Committee http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/15-16/bill/sen/sb_0101-0150/sb_140_bill_20150126_introduced.pdf Introduced by Senator Leno (Principal coauthor: Senator Pan) (Principal coauthor: Assembly Member Ting) (Coauthor: Senator Hernandez) (Coauthor: Assembly Member Chiu) January 26, 2015 An act to amend Sections 22950.5, 22958, and 22962 of the Business and Professions Code, to amend Section 1947.5 of the Civil Code, to amend Section 48901 of the Education Code, to amend Section 7597 of the Government Code, to amend Sections 1234, 1286, 1530.7, 1596.795, 104495, 113978, 114332.3, 114371, 118910, 118925, 118930, 118935, and 118948 of, and to repeal Section 119405 of, the Health and Safety Code, to amend Section 6404.5 of the Labor Code, to amend Section 308 of the Penal Code, to amend Sections 561 and 99580 of the Public Utilities Code, and to amend Section 12523 of the Vehicle Code, relating to electronic cigarettes. legislative counsel’s digest SB 140, as introduced, Leno. Electronic cigarettes. Existing law, the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement (STAKE) Act, prohibits a person from selling or otherwise furnishing tobacco products to minors. Existing law permits enforcing agencies to assess various civil penalties for violations of the STAKE Act. Existing law makes it a crime to furnish tobacco products to minors. Existing law also prohibits a person from selling or otherwise furnishing an electronic cigarette to minors, and makes a violation punishable as an infraction. This bill would change the STAKE Act’s definition of tobacco products to include electronic devices, such as electronic cigarettes, 99 that deliver nicotine and make furnishing such a tobacco product to a minor a misdemeanor. Existing law prohibits the smoking of cigarettes and other tobacco products in a variety of specified areas. Under existing law, a violation of some of these prohibitions is punishable as an infraction. This bill would change the location restrictions for smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products to reflect the STAKE Act’s new definition of tobacco products. The bill would make the use of electronic cigarettes in some of these restricted locations a violation punishable as an infraction. By expanding the scope of a crime, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program. The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement. This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes. State-mandated local program: yes.

2017 TCL TV Product Line Comparison

03:41
SUBSCRIBE FOR THE LATEST VIDEOS http://bit.ly/DTYouTubeSub Today we're going to check out TCL's entire 2017 TV line. We're going to start with the entry level, and as we move our way up, we're going discuss the different points of technology in each series' TV, how that affects picture quality and what it's like to use the TV. Let's dive right in: The S-Series is what TCL refers to as its Smart Value line. This series still features 4K resolution and HDR, though unlike the above models, only HDR10 is supported, with Dolby Vision support missing, likely due to the specialized hardware and licensing fees that come along with the technology. With the TCL S305 Series, screen size varies from 28"-45", with the 28" and 32" sizes at 720p and everything else from there is 1080p. With the TCL S405, you get a product that's a little more, but you get a whole lot back. You get 4k Ultra HD resolution, standard HDR support, more intense brightness than the S305 and really solid color, straight out of the box. Stepping up again though, takes you to an entirely different level with the TCL P-Series. The P-Series (TCL says to think performance) comprises the following models, armed with 72 zones of full array locally dimmed LED backlights for enhanced contrast and HDR brightness as well as an expanded color gamut that TCL says covers nearly the entire DCI-P3 color space. This is a landmark move for TCL, which has not embraced high-end full array local dimming technology until now. Despite this being the value line, many of the features of the above models are still included, like Creative Pro 4K upscaling. Three HDMI ports are included as well, though TCL hasn’t yet specified if all three support HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2, which are required for HDR. Porter's Five Forces - A Practical Example

07:46
According to Porter's five forces framework the competitive environment in an industry is influenced by five forces: • The Threat of new entrants; • The Threat of substitute products; • The Rivalry among existing firms; • The Bargaining power of buyers; • And the Bargaining power of suppliers. The five forces model teaches us that competition has multiple dimensions. It is important how many direct competitors we have, but it is also important if clients can choose to use alternative products, or if new entrants are likely to enter the market and increase current levels of competition. In addition, we shouldn’t forget that clients and suppliers can have a very strong bargaining power, and dictate the terms if the companies in an industry are unable to do anything about it.
