Walking around Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California 【4K】

29:20
Hollywood Blvd, the most famous street in Hollywood. Though it might be rare to see a real celebrity here (unless there's an event), the impersonators will surely amuse you. Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the main attractions here. You'll see the names of celebrities in a star inlaid on the sidewalk of the street. On the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre, you'll find the signature, hand and footprints of the biggest names in Hollywood. The Hollywood Sign is visible when you go up to the Hollywood & Highland Shopping Center. List of attractions: - Madame Tussauds (1:30) - TCL Chinese Theatre (2:25) - Hard Rock Cafe (3:55) - Dolby Theatre (4:25) - Hollywood & Highland Shopping Center (5:20) - Hollywood Sign (7:40) - Wax Museum (12:35) - Grauman's Egyptian Theatre (19:50) - Scientology (20:15) - Guinness World Records (21:40) - El Capitan Theatre (25:25) - Jimmy Kimmel Live Studio(25:40) - Roosevelt Hotel (27:30) 📅 Recording Date: November 2016 🌠Become a TravelPass Club Founding Member for FREE. 🌠When you sign up, you get free access to the lowest, non-public rates up to 60% on hotels and travel worldwide. 🌠Sign up for FREE using this link: https://vrlps.co/meN6HRz/cp ►►►Support me on Patreon◄◄◄ If you enjoy watching my videos and want to support my future projects, please visit my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/windwalktravelvideos Let's Connect: ►Subscribe: https://goo.gl/sS5fQZ ►Patreon: https://patreon.com/WindWalkTravelVideos ►Facebook: https://facebook.com/WindWalkTravelVideos ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/WindWalkTravels ►Instagram: https://instagram.com/WindWalkTravelVideos ►Reddit: https://reddit.com/r/WindWalkTravelVideos ►Tumblr: https://windwalktravelvideos.tumblr.com #Hollywood #HollywoodBlvd #HollywoodBoulevard #WalkofFame #LosAngeles #California

Hollywood Boulevard Travel Tips: 10 Things to Know Before You Go

08:08
10 things you must know before you travel to Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. First off, Hollywood Boulevard is definitely not as nice as you think it is. The idealized Hollywood in your head is most certainly better than the real Hollywood. You've seen it on TV for the Oscars, and it's all decked out and amazing. The real Hollywood blvd is filled with shady businesses, crumby souvenir stands, and panhandling “entertainers” who will attempt to shake you down for a photo with them. Hollywood is also huge! There are so many hidden gems in the city, but most of what you’ll find in this immediate location is catered to tourists. Watch more of Ernest on the Trip Astute channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/TripAstute Watch our "10 Things to Do in Hollywood" here: https://youtu.be/_kD0SL9JqZE 2. Parking: Street Parking (Meter Prices -- but watch out!) Expensive Pay Parking Lots My favorite: garage at Hollywood & Highland, which is a mall that includes Chinese and Dolby Theaters. With validation (available with a purchase at shops in the mall), you get 2 hours for $2 or 4 hours for $2 with validation from the Chinese Theater. Daily max of $17 US Highway 101 provides the easiest access via the Highland Avenue exit south. This is also a great place to have a quick meal. There are several restaurants hidden away in this area where you can get a fast and affordable meal away from some of the more touristy restaurants on the main street. 3. Subway Yes, Los Angeles has a subway, and it’s one of the best ways to get to Hollywood, the LA Metro Red Line has 3 stops along Hollywood boulevard. And it’s cheap, only $1.75 per ride, any distance! Hollywood & Western, Hollywood & Vine Hollywood & Highland (Which is the best stop to start at) And it also stops at Universal Studios Hollywood, which isn’t in Hollywood at all! 4. Photos with Street Performers They aren’t there out of the kindness of their hearts, if you take a picture with them, or of them, they’ll expect some money. And sometimes be forceful about it. I’m not telling you not to take a picture with them… just know it’s going to cost you. 5. Food It all is pretty mediocre on Hollywood boulevard, and overpriced. If you want “cheap”, best options are the food court at the top of Hollywood and Highland mall, I like Poknomitry, or there’s an In-N-Out burger a block over on Sunset. If you want better sit-down eats, get off Hollywood blvd, head over to West Hollywood. 6. Making Movies They don’t make them here anymore… most movie making in LA happens in Burbank, which is North of Hollywood. If you are looking for the “movie studio” experience, check out the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, and Paramount Pictures Studio Tour, or Universal Studios Hollywood theme park for their Studio Tour. None of these are near Hollywood boulevard. You can take the subway to Universal Studios Hollywood though. If you want to take a tour of the Dolby Theatre, head to their box office when you first arrive on Hollywood Boulevard, then organize the rest of your day around your scheduled tour time. 7.The Sign: In 1923, an investor by the name of Harry Chandler had the letters ‘Hollywoodland’ constructed to advertise a new real estate development. In 1949, the word ‘land’ was removed from the sign and it became an advertisement for the whole town rather than just one neighbourhood. 8. The stars: It's called the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and celebrities can earn stars in 5 categories. 9. Celebrities have to pay for their star 10. Celebrities can earn multiple stars CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/yellowwsub You might enjoy watching some of these other videos: Yellow Productions on Social Media: FACEBOOK: https://facebook.com/YellowProductionsTravel INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/yellowwproductions/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/chrisraney GOOGLE+: https://google.com/+yellowwproductions Check out my blog: http://yelloww.net My video gear: Sony FDR-AX53 4K Handycam: http://amzn.to/2hYePVc Sony ECMW1M Wireless Microphone: http://amzn.to/2gQKDGG GoPro Fusion 360 Camera: https://amzn.to/2NINKSz LensPen Lens Cleaner: http://amzn.to/2hPYui1 Pacsafe LS250 Anti-theft Shoulder Bag: http://amzn.to/2h0YCNt Manfroto Pixi Mini Tripod: http://amzn.to/2ilJms6 Manfrotto Twist Grip Clamp: http://amzn.to/2hYEnyN

Hiking to the Hollywood Sign and the Wisdom Tree in Los Angeles

04:43
Hollywood Sign Hike to Burbank Peak and the Wisdom Tree This hike takes you up behind the iconic Hollywood sign on a 3.5 mile road trip trail that takes you up about 800 feet of elevation. It is a steep trail, so know that going in. Be sure to read signs when parking as well so that you do not get a ticket. It is a really fun Southern California hike with great views though and one of my favorite in the LA area. Universal Studios Hollywood in 4K! Los Angeles, California

34:19
This is a 4K video of Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. Video captured during the daytime setup of Halloween Horror Nights. Universal Studios is a relatively short drive to Disneyland. Universal Studios is in the northern part of LA, whereas Disneyland is more in the southern part. If you have time to visit both Disneyland and Universal Studios, do it! Although there is much construction in 2018 at the park, you’ll find the live attractions in 2018 are similar. This video was shot in 4K at 30 FPS using an iPhone 8. I also used a stability bar (but no gimbal). In this video, I walk around the park and take the studio backlot tour. It's a quick cut of various attractions you'll find at Universal Studios Hollywood. You'll see glimpses of food areas as well. And a quick clip of animal actors. Dreaming about Hollywood? In this video you'll get to see the everyday life along the Hollywood Boulevard, California. At the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame you'll walk on the stars of Jay Leno, Britney Spears, Destiny's child, Dick Haynes, Bill Cosby, Aretha Franklin, Blake Edwards and a many more. The handprints (and sometimes footprints) outside Grauman's Chinese Theater are made by some of the biggest star of the silver screen; Eddie Murphy, Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe, Richard Gere, Michael Douglas, Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks and Jim Carrey. And if that's not stars enough for you, get here by late February when every moviestar crowds the streets for one night. The Kodak Theatre as it was named at the time, nowadays the proper name is Dolby Theatre, is where the annual Academy Awards ceremonies, the Oscars, are being held. At the end of the video you'll get a glimpse of the building where the final scene in Pretty Woman were shot. The building where Richard Gere climbed up the fire escape with flowers to Julia Roberts, the Las Palmas hotel just half a block north of Hollywood Boulevard.

Los Angeles Travel Tips: 13 Things to Know Before You Go to LA

15:45
Things you need to know before you travel to Los Angeles California. LA is HUGE. You won't be able to see all of LA, unless you're staying for a very very long time. Los Angeles doesn't have a "center" and Downtown LA is not very exciting. LA is comprised of multiple cities Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu. Get a rental car - You'll need it to see most tourist attractions in Los Angeles. 2. Traffic - LA has traffic everywhere, all the time. All day, every day. Yes, even at 1am on a weekend. Deal with it. - The freeways have names -- it's not I-405 -- it's "THE 405" 3. Public Transit - LA has a subway! - But it probably doesn't go where you want! Especially the beach! 4. Parking - Is often Valet - and Costs money everywhere - Except when you're parking on the freeway :) - Pay attention to street signs (confusing times and days) 5. Navigation - Know where you're going and take the correct exit - Take the wrong exit and you might end up in some place really sketchy - Lots of little cities, the street numbering changes in different cities 6. Weather - LA is not always sunny and warm - It gets cold -- particularly at night - Shorts in the day, but pants and a jacket at night - And the ocean water is cold too... 70 degrees is as warm as it gets - Inland can be 30 degrees warmer than the beach - Lots of sunscreen - Sunglasses - It's dry -- moisturizer 7. LA is unlike the rest of California - It can feel like a different country, or at least a different state - Venice Beach in particular 8. Hollywood is in the neighborhood called "Hollywood" - West Hollywood is in front of the Hollywood sign (and a different city) with Fancy homes - East Hollywood doesn't have much - North Hollywood over the mountain is a suburb of LA - Oh by the way -- no actors in Hollywood - And if you go see a 30 minute sitcom taping it will take 4+ hours 9. The Valley - Means San Fernando Valley - Burbank, Studio City, North Hollywood, Van Nuys 10. LA's most well known attractions are also some of the most rundown - Hollywood Boulevard or is Tijuana? - Venice Beach, oh my lord 11. LA is casual - Flip flops and shorts are OK except in the most dressy establishments 12. Bring your own shopping bag - Supermarkets charge 10 cents for shopping bags in California 13. Mexican Food in LA is awesome - Get some fish tacos! - And visit King Taco! A Walk Down Hollywood Boulevard

20:15
Hollywood Boulevard is a street in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, splitting off Sunset Boulevard in the east and running northwest to Vermont Avenue, where it straightens out and runs due west to Laurel Canyon Boulevard. West of Laurel Canyon, it continues as a residential street and ending at Sunset Plaza Drive. The eastern end of Hollywood Boulevard passes through Little Armenia and Thai Town. Prior to Hollywood Boulevard, the street was named Prospect Avenue until 1910, when the town of Hollywood was annexed by the City of Los Angeles. After annexation, the street numbers changed from 100 Prospect Avenue, at Vermont Avenue, to 6400 Hollywood Boulevard. In 1946, Gene Autry, while riding his horse in the Hollywood Christmas Parade — which passes down Hollywood Boulevard each year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving — heard young parade watchers yelling, "Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus!" and was inspired to write "Here Comes Santa Claus" with Oakley Haldeman.[1] In 1958, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which runs from Gower Street to La Brea Avenue (and an additional three blocks on Vine Street), was created as a tribute to artists working in the entertainment industry. The Hollywood extension of the Metro Red Line subway was opened in June 1999, running from Downtown Los Angeles to the San Fernando Valley. Stops on Hollywood Boulevard are located at Western Avenue, Vine Street, and Highland Avenue. Metro Local lines 180, 181, and 217, and Metro Rapid line 780 also serve Hollywood Boulevard. An anti-cruising ordinance prohibits driving on parts of the boulevard more than twice in four hours. Today, the Boulevard is a popular tourist destination and is always crowded with cars and people. Beginning in 1995, then Los Angeles City Council member Jackie Goldberg initiated efforts to clean up Hollywood Boulevard and reverse its decades-long slide into disrepute.[3] Central to these efforts was the construction of the Hollywood and Highland Center and adjacent Dolby Theatre (originally known as the Kodak Theater) in 2001. In early 2006, the city made revamping plans on Hollywood Boulevard for future tourists. The three-part plan was to exchange the original streetlights with red stars into two-headed old-fashioned streetlights, put in new palm trees, and put in new stoplights. The renovations were completed in late 2006. In the few years leading up to 2007, more than $2 billion was spent on projects in the neighborhood, including mixed-use retail and apartment complexes and new schools and museums.[3] A popular event that takes place on the Boulevard is the complete transformation of the street to a Christmas theme. Shops and department stores attract customers by lighting their stores and the entire street with decorated Christmas trees and Christmas lights. The street essentially becomes "Santa Claus Lane." The Hollywood Bowl is Also an Awesome Park Open to the Public During the Day

03:13
We Like L.A. helps you find the best things to do in Los Angeles! If you enjoyed our visit to the Hollywood Bowl and you're looking for other cool spots in Los Angeles, check out our visits to the Downtown L.A. Art Walk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1rsekDLfFc or the Baldwin Park Scenic Overlook: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB3BqmHN61o * * * * About this video: One of things we never thought about is that the Hollywood Bowl is actually owned by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation. (In the video we mention in the video the county operates the park, but to be accurate, the Bowl is operated by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Apologies for any confusion). Although the site of the Bowl had already hosted several outdoor productions and concerts by the early 1920s, including the first-ever bowl performance by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, it was in 1924 when the property was officially deeded over to L.A. County. This transfer set the stage for the Hollywood Bowl to be preserved and improved upon for future generations. Over the years these improvements and renovations have seen everything from new seating to different iterations of the iconic shell about the main stage. One fascinating tidbit I learned in researching the venue before we arrived was at one point there was actually a pyramid shaped shell designed by Lloyd Wright (sone of Frank Lloyd Wright), but that only lasted for about one year. One thing that's remained constant over the years has been the commitment of the venue to preserve the native habitat. There are dozens of animals and plants that reside at or near the Bowl grounds, and efforts to maintain the habitat lead to the Hollywood Bowl being the first amphitheater in California to be certified as an Audubon Society Cooperative Sanctuary. If you're looking for a game-plan on where to go during your visit, one preferred method for exploring the grounds is through what's called a Bowl Walk, which offers a playbook on points of interest every visitor should see, including, the Muse of Music, the Cahuenga Pass Treasure, and of course the shell of the amphitheater. In addition to the walk, you'll definitely want to check out the Hollywood Bowl Museum, located at the site of the Old Tea Room, near the bottom of the hill off Pepper Tree Lane. Here you'll find a collection of old photographs, posters, and exhibits depicting the timeline of the Hollywood Bowl. You can also head up to the second floor where the museum hosts temporary, featured exhibitions. Most recently on exhibit is Attention Pilots | Hollywood Bowl and the Skies Above the history of how the Bowl has tried to fend off airplane noise from interfering with their performance schedule. Speaking of concerts, during the summer you can even catch open rehearsals by the LA Phil as they prep for evening performances. This is probably one of the most unique aspects of a day-visit to the bowl, as if you time it just right you could hang out with a little picnic and hear some world class musicians tuning up for a gig. Just be sure to call Audience Services (323-850-2000) ahead of time if you want to find out about the upcoming rehearsal schedule. If you're planning a visit keep in mind there is free parking in Lots A and B during the day, but you might want to call ahead to avoid any event or construction-related park closures. The Hollywood Bowl is open daily at around 8 a..m. and is usually closed by sunset (or sometimes earlier if there is an event). Museum hours vary seasonally but breakdown as follows: Summer Hours: June 20 – September 27 Monday: CLOSED Tuesday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – show time Sunday: 4 p.m. – show time Off-Season Hours: September 28 through June 19 Sunday - Monday: CLOSED Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturdays: 30+ groups by appointment only Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Years Day LINKS Hollywood Bowl website: http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/ Hollywood Bowl Guide for Newcomers: http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/visit/guide-newcomers Hollywood Bowl Walk: http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/visit/hollywood-bowl-museum/bowl-walk

WILLIAM MARRION BRANHAM.ON LOS ANGELES AND HOLLYWOOD

WHO.DO.YOU.SAY.THIS.IS_ PHOENIX.AZ V-6 N-9 SUNDAY_ 64-1227 47 We find ourselves, at this Christmas, just about like they did the first Christmas though. The world's just about to fall apart. As I preached on once, somewhere, about a Christmas message, The World Falling Apart. And the world again is just about to come to pieces. Look at the earthquakes over here in California. I predict, before the coming of the Lord Jesus, that God will sink that place. I believe that Hollywood and Los Angeles, and them filthy places over there, that God Almighty will sink them. They'll go beneath the bottom of the sea. And it's so much sin, you see, it's the barrier. 48 Civilization has traveled with the sun, from... and it started in the East, going west. And now it's at the West Coast. If it goes any further, it'll be back East again. So that's the barrier. And sin has traveled with civilization, and it becomes the cesspool of all ages. Things they do that--that human beings in any other age wouldn't have thought of such a thing. Woman has throwed theirself to such a filth, till no woman in any age would've ever thought of such a thing as we do today. And then still call ourselves Christians. What a disgrace! WHO.DO.YOU.SAY.THIS.IS_ PHOENIX.AZ V-6 N-9 SUNDAY_ 64-1227 49 No wonder the great prophet raised up, and he said, "I'm not a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but..." 10 Best Things to do in Downtown Los Angeles

08:44
10 Fun & Entertaining things to do in Downtown Los Angeles. Downtown LA is home to many attractions and as a tourist you can easily spend a couple of days doing things in Downtown LA. In this video I share my favorite things to do to keep yourself amused. Broad Museum & Disney Concert Hall at the LA Music Center Grammy Museum LA Live LA Arts District - highest density of murals in the city, which you can explore on your own or on any number of tours. Union Station - architectural landmark, with a gorgeous waiting hall and public areas Little Tokyo Chinatown - known as New Chinatown, was developed around the Central Plaza in 1938, just west of Old Chinatown, where Union Station is now. Before the move, this area was LA's Little Italy, and is still home to St. Peter's Italian Church and Casa Italiana Cultural Center. LA's Chinatown is less dense than New York or San Francisco. The shops don't line the streets as thickly, but there are still a few cute stores and plazas through the serpent gateway heading north on Broadway from Cesar Chavez. - The neon pagoda lights and lanterns at Central Plaza make a colorful display at night. Most of the notable landmarks in Chinatown are a few blocks from the Take a Tour of Los Angeles City Hall - Docent-led City Hall Tours are available weekday mornings from 9 am to noon. The last tour usually leaves around 11, but it's not a fixed schedule. If you make a reservation, you're more likely to land on the right hour for a tour, and might even get your parking covered. - You can walk in (through the metal detectors) and explore on your own with the self-guided tour materials available at the information desk on the 3rd Floor. Be sure to take the elevator up to the observation deck on the 27th floor. You have to take the Express Elevator to the 22nd Floor, then another adjacent elevator to the 26th floor. Finally, you walk up one flight through the Mayor Tom Bradley Room and exit onto the Observation Balcony that circles the building. Olvera Street - Olvera Street (Calle Olvera) is a historical district in downtown Los Angeles, and a part of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument. It was officially founded in 1781 in Los Angeles, and was renamed to Olvera Street in 1877. Many of the Plaza District's Historic Buildings are on Olvera Street, as well as some of the oldest Los Angeles monuments including the Avila Adobe built in 1818, Pelanconi House built in 1857, and the Sepulveda House built in 1887. The tree-shaded, pedestrian mall marketplace with craft shops, restaurants and roving troubadours is a popular tourist destination. The street has been described as a "Top Five" in the "Great Streets of America" journal. Top 6 BEST Universal Studios Hollywood Attractions! |Stix Top 6|

12:57
In today's episode of Stix Top 6, we fly over to Hollywood, California to check out Universal Studios Hollywood and count down the Top 6 BEST Attractions throughout the park! Twitter - https://twitter.com/SilverStixYT Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/user/SilverStix/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/c/SilverStix Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County, California. About 70% of the studio lies within the unincorporated county island known as Universal City while the rest lies within the city limits of Los Angeles, California. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use. Its official marketing headline is "The Entertainment Capital of LA". It was initially created to offer tours of the real Universal Studios sets and is the first of many full-fledged Universal Studios Theme Parks located across the world. Outside the theme park, a new, all-digital facility near the Universal Pictures backlot was built in an effort to merge all of NBCUniversal's West Coast operations into one area. As a result, the current home for KNBC, KVEA and NBC News with Telemundo Los Angeles Bureaus with new digital facility is on the Universal lot formerly occupied by Technicolor SA. Universal City includes hotels Universal Hilton & Towers, the Sheraton Universal Hotel, and Universal CityWalk, which offers a collection of shops, restaurants, an 18-screen Universal Cinema and a seven-story IMAX theater. In 2017, the park hosted 9,056,000 guests, ranking it 15th in the world and 9th among North American parks. Shortly after Music Corporation of America took over Universal Pictures in 1962, accountants suggested a new tour in the studio commissary would increase profits. On July 15, 1964, the modern tour was established to include a series of dressing room walk-through's, peeks at actual production, and later, staged events. This grew over the years into a full-blown theme park. The narrated tram tour (formerly "Glamor Trams") still runs through the studio's active backlot, but the staged events, stunt demonstrations and high-tech rides overshadow the motion-picture production that once lured fans to Universal Studios Hollywood. In 1965, the War Lord Tower opened as one of the first attractions in the theme park. One of the early struggles for Universal was coming up with things for young children to do. The existing small Ma & Pa Kettle Petting Zoo was expanded into the Ark Park. This area encompassed the Mt. Ararat petting zoo with over 200 animals and birds representing 30 species and a Noah's Nursery and a Noah's Love Inn playhouse for children and animals. This was followed by the opening of the Animal Actors' School Stage in 1970. In 1968 the Screen Actors Guild enacted a rule prohibiting visitors from most soundstages. This new rule coupled with more productions being shot on location meant the backlot tram tour could not show visitors much in the way of real movie and television production. Jay Stein, President of the Recreation Division championed the idea of creating exciting experiences for visitors in place of viewing actual production. Later that same year, the Flash Flood set was opened and this first special-effects attraction proved to be a hit. 20,000 gallons of water rushed 200 feet down a narrow Mexican village street, uprooting an old tree and threatening to engulf the tram. The Parting of the Red Sea attraction opened in 1973. In 1974, the Rockslide staged event was added to the Studio Tour. The following year The Land of a Thousand Faces opened on the Upper Lot. In 1979, the Battle of Galactica replaced Rockslide as a staged event on the Studio Tour. The Flintstones Show opened, replacing the Star Trek Adventure. In 1991, E.T. Adventure opened as the park's first "dark ride," an industry term for an attraction that uses ride vehicles to take passengers through an indoor show building. Around the same time, sister park Universal Studios Florida opened, which had its own, similar E.T. attraction. The Florida version was more of a conventional theme park and paved the way for the Hollywood park's evolution. In 1993, Back to the Future: The Ride opened, replacing Battle of Galactica. In 1996, Jurassic Park: The Ride opened. In 1997, two shows were replaced: The Land Before Time show replaced Rocky and Bullwinkle Live; and Totally Nickelodeon replaced the Flintstones Show. Just one year after it opened, the Land Before Time show was replaced with Coke Soak. In 1999, T2-3D: Battle Across Time and a Chicken Run Walkthrough opened on the upper lot. Additionally, Beetlejuice's Rock and Roll Graveyard Revue was closed.

Sunset Boulevard, Part 20: Fairfax Ave. To Laurel Canyon Blvd., Hollywood

06:23
This is episode 20 in my Walk to the Ocean via Sunset Blvd. A very short section but plenty to see. Sunset Boulevard is a boulevard in the central and western part of Los Angeles County, California that stretches from Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Coast Highway at the Pacific Ocean. Approximately 22 miles in length, the boulevard roughly traces the arc of mountains that form part of the northern boundary of the Los Angeles Basin, following the path of a 1780s cattle trail from the Pueblo de Los Angeles to the ocean. From Downtown Los Angeles, it heads northwest, to Hollywood, through which it travels due west for several miles before it bends southwest towards the ocean. It passes through or near Echo Park, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Holmby Hills. In Bel-Air, Sunset Boulevard runs along the northern boundary of UCLA's Westwood campus. The boulevard continues through Brentwood to Pacific Palisades where it terminates at the Pacific Coast Highway intersection. The boulevard has curvaceous winding stretches, and can be treacherous for unaware drivers in some sections. It is at least four lanes wide along its entire route. Sunset is frequently congested with traffic loads beyond its design capacity.
