New Age Beverages offers healthy beverages, including Bob Marley-branded product line
New Age Beverages Corp (NASDAQ:NBEV) is targeting consumers looking for healthy beverage options, CEO Brent Willis tells Proactive Investors. The Colorado-based healthy functional beverage company was created in 2016 and is engaged in the development, marketing, sales, and distribution of beverages. Willis says the company owns patents on many of the beverages that it produces. Additionally, the company owns a significant intellectual property portfolio about the future state of the beverage industry. The company offers its products directly, as well as through store delivery distribution systems in the United States and internationally. One product is the Marley line of beverages, created in partnership with Bob Marley’s family. Within the Marley line, there are a range of products including Marley Mate and Mellow Mood. Willis says the company may consider acquisitions going forward and is looking to continue to expand its channels, including e-commerce, military, medical and food service channels.

How to Start a Beverage Drink Company
HOW TO START A BEVERAGE COMPANY? Have you ever wanted to start your own business? A few months ago, I bought this basil seed drink in the supermarket and tried it. I really liked it. It had these jelly balls that makes it yummy to drink. Then I had a thought. "let's make my own drink and sell it!". (PAUSE) I want to have a go making my own drink and sell it. Since then, the idea has been floating on the back of mind. So today I will be talking about 'How to Start a Beverage Company'. This speech will be useful to you because you will learn about how one company did it. You will see that to start a successful company you need to do the really hard things. --- My story is about a company called Sweet Leaf Tea. It was started by a guy name Clayton Christopher. Clayton always wanted to start a company since his father was an entrepreneur. He took some time to search for ideas. One day he decided to focus on a tea drink business after meeting and talking to a tea merchant for some time. He began be doing a number of really hard things. The first really hard thing he did was to built a drink production facility at home. The health regulation of the state requires him to build a fully enclosed room to make his tea drink. So he just went ahead and build a new room in his home. He then installed a range of equipment to do things like extract chlorine from water, filter the water, heating and cooling the water. The drink is then bottled with his hands by himself. That was pretty much his factory. I didn't realise this but, real world beverage drinks can be made by hand, by yourself. You do have the power to mass produce drinks without millions of dollars. --- The second really hard thing was to develop a great tea drink blend. He needed to develop his very own tea drink flavour. Clayton spent five months sourcing tea leaves from all around the world. He tried more than 500 individual teas and another 500 blends to find something he really liked. That is a lot of experimentation. Imagine spend 8 hours a day drinking tea for a whole year. Every day you would be trying new tea drinks. I would never thought of doing that. That is a great example of dedication. Don't do things the lazy way. Do things the hardest way. --- The third milestone is to get his product out there and sell. So how do you get you drink in the shop for customers to buy. He started by distributing it at convenience stores. They put his bottle on the bottom of the shelve. And only 1 or 2 bottle was sold every week. He then persuade 10 stores to let him place a large tub of ice and his drink at the checkout area. This was a success. People started to buy more of his drink and notice it. But it is still very slow. Years later he found his first major customer. A supermarket chain in Texas. To achieve this they called and sent free samples for more than a year to each of the large customers. Soon after other supermarkets followed. It is then that success is apparent. He finally was able to mass produce drinks and sell it in store. He has spent years developing his very own drink. As the company grows large. They hired college students to brew and bottle the drinks while they made deliveries in an old van. They market their drink by giving free samples to customers. To grow even bigger, they had to shut down their plant and signed up with a bottling company to develop his drink that had a longer shelf life. The bottling company have the ability to pasteurise the drink, which means to heat the drink for an a period of time to destroy certain microorganisms and prevent spoilage. Now Sweet Leaf Tea is real world beverage company that was bought by Nestle in 2011. --- So that is the story of how Clayton Christopher started his very own beverage drink company. Many of the big companies in the world started from just an idea. It is often created manual by hand. It was created with lots of care. With time and much hard work the company will grow. In the end it is possible for anyone to create a world class company. Bovine seminal plasma, the nerd term for bull semen, tells people that their line of hair products has plenty of the stuff. The technical director of Natural Protein Company, the company that owns Imprivo Shampoo, claims it contains natural properties that restore and strengthen chemically damaged hair. Basically, don’t be scared to get some of that bull semen in your hair because the Natural Protein Company said so. For the “utterly” ridiculous low, low price of $43.50. 3. Squalene Squalene oil is now the darling of face oils, helping moisturize all skin types, repenting irritation and speed up healing of cracked skin. Skin therapists and specialists now recommend it to people with skin problems. But scientists have begun tracing the history of this super product and have discovered that most of the products are actually shark liver oil, which contains about 60-85% of this organic matter. Squalene is also found in human beings but between the ages of 30 and 40, its proportions decrease significantly. It got its name when a Japanese chemist observed that people from Japan only extracted the oil from the livers of the sharks of the Squadilae family. 4. Strawberry Frappuccino The vibrant pink of the Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccinos makes the drink look appetizing and inviting. But there is so much more to this pink color than the eye can see. The taller your Strawberry Frappuccino, the more bugs you are likely to drink up. Before you demand a refund and scream at the helpless attendant, let me give you a little background. Starbucks released a statement revealing they use cochineal extract, which is the ground bodies of dried insects. Expo West 2016 Video: An Interview with GoodBelly's Alan Murray
GoodBelly, a leading brand of probiotic beverages, recently launched two refreshment-focused product lines and showcased each at Natural Products Expo West 2016. In an interview at Expo West, GoodBelly CEO Alan Murray explained that the development of GoodBelly Sparkling Drink and GoodBelly Ade were the result of an innovation strategy that seeks to “constantly rejuvenate the energy behind probiotics.” Since the brand’s inception in 2006, GoodBelly has marketed a variety of probiotic-infused beverages and supplements, including juices and oat-based shots. Amid rising demand for light and sparkling drinks, GoodBelly consumers asked the company to create a refreshing, yet efficacious, option. The new products deliver on that taste profile and function, Murray said. They also represent a technological breakthrough for GoodBelly: each is formulated with 20 billion probiotics cultures per serving. Murray said infusing that level of probiotics has never been accomplished before and noted that he doesn’t “think anyone’s going to be able to copy” the technology in the near future. Although Murray describes probiotics as “among the hottest and fastest growing categories in natural and conventional grocery,” it’s taken some time to get there. Yet while GoodBelly might have a been a little ahead of its time, Murray believes that the company has an edge over competitors because it has already “made the mistakes that others still have to make.” Watch this video for much more about the development of the new products as well as some insight into GoodBelly’s innovation pipeline and how it assesses the marketability of new products. Expo West 2017 Video: REBBL Talks New Products and Going Beyond Super Herbs
As in previous years, functional beverages were prominently featured at Natural Products Expo West 2017, with brands continuing to explore and integrate adaptogenic ingredients, such as turmeric, ashwagandha and reishi mushroom into natural, health-boosting offerings. In introducing a redesigned logo and three new additions to its line of organic “super herb” powered elixirs and protein drinks, REBBL continued to push the category forward with new innovations and a mission-driven brand identity. Speaking with BevNET, founder Palo Hawken said that his brand sees the launch of the new addition to its core line, Turmeric Lemon Tart, as an opportunity to bring the ingredient beyond its natural consumer base and into the mainstream with a fruity, high-fat beverage that “tastes basically like lemon meringue pie.” Also debuting at the show were two new coffee-based varieties, Cold-Brew Coffee Protein and Reshi Cold-Brew. “For us, the consumer is really telling us how much to invest in coffee,” he said, noting that the protein-enhanced SKU has been the best seller amongst the three new products. Looking ahead to the company’s future, CEO Sheryl O’Loughlin told BevNET that the $10 million round of investment led by Boulder Investment Group Reprise (BIGR) in late 2016 would help REBBL to continue pursuing expansion and innovation. “We will start to expand into other conventional retailers that get it and support the functional space in a very powerful way,” she said, calling 2017 a “huge year” for the brand. In this video interview, O’Loughlin and Hawken discuss how REBBL educates consumers about adaptogenic ingredients, its efforts to support sustainable agriculture, and the brand’s greater mission to go beyond “super herbs” and become, as Hawken says, “the explorers and the offerers of the world’s greatest ingredients.”

Flexible packaging line for beverages from Schubert: Packaging beer bottles in boxes
The inline lines used by breweries are most effective when they are engaged in production with standard crates and pallets. Any variation in this throws a proverbial monkey wrench in the works, making many container shapes simply impossible. The more versions thought up by the marketing or commercial department, the more anxiously the manager of operations looks at his or her charts. This is why our client decided on an offline packaging center from IPS and Schubert. This concept convinced the customer because it solves packaging problems comprehensively and very flexibly. In addition to the existing formats, expansions can be made at any time thanks to the TLM technology used. The line is currently producing sixpacks with the classic cardboard sleeve or top clip and loads them into various carriers, e.g. 30x crates, centersleeve crates and Logipack trays. The packaging center unloads from 20x, 24x or 27x crates. A variety of standard bottles (Longneck, NRW, Steinie) and two custom bottles are processed. There are also programs for unpacking full and empty bottles into different crates. To handle these numerical acrobatics, the brewery is optimally outfitted with TLM technology. A TLM-F4 four axis robot (which was specially developed for the beverage industry) can, for example, flexibly create a buffer first and then access it later to repack a 20x crate into an 11x crate or to create six packs from 27x crates. TLM-F4s also ensure flexibility when loading into secondary packaging in which containers can be rotated separately and inserted individually. The line, which is composed of eight sub-machines, processes up to 14,400 bottles per hour.
