Today, this UNESCO World Heritage Site defines Amsterdam’s landscape. Taking a boat ride is one of the best ways to appreciate this urban canal ring and the city’s other waterways. 1 - Amsterdam Canal Bus: Hop On and Off as You Explore Amsterdam The Amsterdam Canal Bus is an ideal way for visitors to discover Amsterdam. The bus travels through Amsterdam’s canals, stopping at key attractions, such as Rembrandt Square and Albert Cuyp. The central audio guide system provides commentary so you can better appreciate your surroundings. If you prefer, download the app for audio commentary in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. When something piques your interests, simply step off and investigate. When you’re done, board the bus and continue your journey. The Amsterdam Canal Bus has three lines and 16 stops, so it’s a great way to see a great deal of the city. It’s €23 for a day ticket, €25 for a 24-hour ticket, and €35 for a 48-hour ticket. Children ages 4 to 12 pay half this price, and children younger than 4 are free. Discounted tickets are also available when you buy them online. https://www.canal.nl/en/canal-bus 2- Day Canal Cruise: The Lovers Canal Cruises Amsterdam Tour Lovers Canal Cruises takes visitors by some of Amsterdam’s key sites on its Day Canal Cruise. Despite its name, the cruise lasts for one hour and not a whole day. Despite its relatively short duration, you’ll see plenty, including the Skinny Bridge, the VOC ship, the Zevenbogenbruggengracht, and the docks. The Lovers Canal Cruises special audio system transmits commentary in 16 languages, so passengers of all nationalities can learn more about the Amsterdam attractions as the sights pass by. The Lovers Canal Cruises Day Canal Cruise departs every 20 to 30 minutes between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. Its boats leave from three locations: the jetty on the west side of the Central Station, Leidseplein, and the Prins Hendrikkade. Tickets cost €16 for adults and €8 for children ages 4 to 12. http://www.lovers.nl/en/tickets-and-prices/day-canal-cruise/ 3- Rijksmuseum Canal Cruise: Blue Boat Company’s Historic Tour Blue Boat Company’s Rijksmuseum Canal Cruise is the ideal boat tour for history and art lovers. The tour operator has teamed up with the Rijksmuseum to create this distinct cruise that takes in locations that inspired the museum’s art collection. You’ll see Rembrandt’s home, the place he painted “The Nightwatch” and much more. The 75-minute tour costs €33.50 for adults and €8.50 for children between ages 4 and 18. This price includes the boat tour and entrance to the Rijksmuseum. The deluxe package costs €46 for adults and €12.50 for children. This package includes the booklet and entrance to the Rijksmuseum and Rembrandt Huis, a Rembrandt museum in the artist’s former home. The tour leaves from Stadhouderskade 30 and docks on Museum Square, a five-minute walk from the Rijksmuseum. Tours leave every half-hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer and every hour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during winter. http://www.blueboat.nl/en/canalcruise_rijksmuseumcruise.html 4- Cruise the Red Light District: Champagne Cruise With Friendship For many years, Amsterdam’s boat tours wouldn’t dare cruise down the canals around the city’s scandalous Red Light district. But the new Friendship cruise company broke the mold with its Champagne Canal Cruises. As well as the Red Light District, you’ll pass Hortus Botanicus, the Amstel, the Skinny Bridge, the maritime museum, and other key attractions. The Champagne Canal Cruise costs €15 with a complimentary soft drink or €25 with a glass of Moët & Chandon. Additional beer, wine, and soft drinks can be purchased on board. Children ages 3 to 10 pay €7.50, and children younger than 3 are free of charge if seated on a parent’s lap. Friendship’s modern boats leave from the Oudezijds Voorburgwal 230 jetty. http://friendshipamsterdam.com/rondvaarten/ 5 - Candlelight Dinner Cruise: Romantic Tour With Amsterdam Jewel Cruises http://www.amsterdamjewelcruises.com/dinner-cruise-details.html 6- Pannenkoekenboot’s 75-Minute Cruise: Unlimited Pancakes on Family-Friendly Tour http://www.pannenkoekenboot.nl/amsterdam/en/tickets-en-prijzen/75-minute-cruise/

This footage was taken on a professional tour boat excursion in Amsterdam, Holland. The Skipper was clearly in "over her head" on "one of her first days". Actual footate of several mishaps and crashes, including a head on collision with another larger tour boat. The Skipper was priceless and she made for quite the entertaining afternoon. We miss her already...

[4K] AMSTERDAM WALKING TOUR - Best Canal (Brouwersgracht) Tour
In this Amsterdam canal walk, we explore the Brouwersgracht - voted the most beautiful street in the city. This has to be one of the best Amsterdam walking routes, and it's just a few minutes walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station. With it's renovated waterfront warehouses, with their famously coloured shutters, and a host of houseboats moored along the canal, this central area on the edge of the Jordaan makes for an easy but eye catching walk. The Jordaan is one of the best walking neighbourhoods in Amsterdam, including as it does, Anne Frank's House, gorgeous streets and many independant shops, cafes and 'coffee shops.' Immerse yourself in this slow tv walking tour - no narration or music. Just the ambient sights and sounds of Amsterdam. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- WOULD YOU LIKE TO SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL? Boat trip in Amsterdam canals ( Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht ) Amsterdam, the Venice of the North 4K, Canal Boat Tour Amsterdam Cruise 2019 , Amsterdam Canal Cruises, Amsterdam Canal Cruises, Your Guide to Canal Cruises in Amsterdam Explore everything Amsterdam has to offer in combination with our canal cruises. Visit world-class museums such as the van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Madame Tussauds, Amsterdam Dungeon or Heineken Experience and combine your visit with a cruise through our unique canals. Hop on board our special evening or dinner cruise and experience Amsterdam's magic from its worldfamous canals. Sit back and let us guide you! Amsterdam Canal Cruises (( Official Website )) http://www.amsterdamcanalcruises.nl/ Amsterdam Canal Cruises (( Reviews )) ------------------------------------------------------------ We had a really lovely time on this canal cruise, it was warm, not overly busy, exceeded expectation. Seeing all the canals was beautiful. The staff and driver was friendly and kind. The automated recording was informative and interesting. We went in the morning so I guess it was a little quieter. Would recommend! Bring change to tip the captain if you enjoy yourself. =============== Where: Amsterdam Canal Cruises What: A tour of the Amsterdam canals by boat How was it: What a great way to get to know the city. Mind you, we were still completely lost while walking in Amsterdam. Not sure why that is. We would just always have a hard time leaving our hotel. The boat tour talks about great places and then afterwards you can go back to see those very places up close. The cruise offers earphones and various languages to explain the different locations. They talked about Anne Frank House, the various bridges, the narrowest house in Amsterdam, the crooked house... What a beautiful city and why not check it out by boat. Grade: Eli = 4, Serge = 4 Recommend: Yes, a great way to start touring the city and picking which points you want to visit. ====================== The tour was half automated with headphones and prerecorded facts about the city. The recorded tour did not fully sync with the places that we were paying by on the river. The Captain tried his best to be friendly, which I appreciate, but everything that came out of his mouth over the intercom was a jokel/pun (as if the tour was his 75 minute comedy show). Unfortunately it did not stop there, the worst part was the roof top windows to the boat. They were extremely hazy which makes photo taking piss poor. I feel like there were better tours for less money. ========================= You'll spend a bit more than an hour floating amongst the buildings of the city. That's a lovely and romantic tour. The audio won't teach you much though unfortunately. ====================== Wonderful 75 mins cruise, all around town. Plus, it's right in front of Heineken! ================== Great service, great views, wonderful experience. Everyone should go on one when visiting the city. ===================== OK, but look elsewhere. Cruising the canals is something one must do when one visits Amsterdam as the system is an UNESCO World Heritage site. The commentary was all pre-recorded which was fine (aside from some lame attempts at humor). But there were long periods where there was no building, bridge, etc., to be commented on. They could have filled in with historical information about the city, which would have been interesting. I’d ask around and see if there’s a better tour. Note: be sure to bring a bottle of water, especially if it’s warm.

Trip to Amsterdam | Amsterdam diaries | virtual tour to Amsterdam
Amsterdam is one of the greatest small cities in the world. it is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe. Canal cruises are a popular way to see the city from the perspective of its canals. Amsterdam is also a city of tolerance and diversity. It has all the advantages of a big city: rich culture, lively Amsterdam nightlife, international restaurants, good transport - but is quiet, and largely thanks to its extensive canals, has a little road traffic. In this city, your destination is never far away, but get a bike for an authentic local experience. Amsterdam tourist attractions Museums are the main tourist attraction in Amsterdam. Everyone knows the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum, but there is much more. Amsterdam has over seventy museums which attract millions of visitors each year. See our suggested itineraries to explore these attractions. Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam Nightwatch Rembrandt in Rijksmuseum Amsterdam One of the world's great museums the Rijksmuseum with its magnificent exhibit of more than 8000 works, including those of masters Rembrandt, Vermeer and Rubens is today one of Amsterdam must-see attractions. The Rijksmuseum collection is constantly enriched and this state-owned museum was only a couple of years ago thoroughly modernized. The Rijksmuseum bookshop and a small sculpture garden on the museum's sides are freely accessible. The Rijksmuseum terrace located at the back of the museum is a pleasant place to sit in warm seasons while the Museumplein while the square adjoining to the Amsterdam three most important museums becomes each winter a lively skating space. Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum: maintains the world’s largest collection of the works of the world’s most popular artist - Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), his paintings, drawings, and letters, complete with the art of his contemporaries. Each year, 1.6 million visitors come to the Van Gogh Museum, making it one of the 25 most popular museums in the world. In 2015, the museum added the new glass entrance hall at the back of its building.

Europe Trip - Day 9 - Amsterdam (Van Gogh, Haring, Pancakes, Canal Cruise, Food Hallen)
Europe - Day 9 - Amsterdam Sun, Sept 6th So for our second full day in Amsterdam, we thought we had escaped the rain, but got hit by a morning shower. Sam was not impressed. Ha ha. The weather there is crazier than Melbourne. First stop was a massive spread for breaky at The Bulldog owned cafe/restaurant/coffee shop/ nightclub place. Very weird & wacky place, but great food. We had a Dutch breakfast with nachos and coffee on the side. Don’t be judgin’. We’re on holiday. Next it was time to get our culture on with a visit to the Van Gogh Museum. Exceptional display of over 200 of his paintings. It was great to learn about the man and his short, but troubled life. Wandering past the IAmsterdam sign again and the Rijks Museum we took a U-Bahn train up to Centraal Station. The underground system is top notch - very clean, efficient & spacious. Next it was time to try one of my most anticipated street foods - Haring. It’s a prepared raw herring dish with onions and pickles. We tried it sliced in pieces, however the traditional way is to pick up a whole one by the tail & lower it into your mouth! I really liked it, but I can see why it is an acquired taste for most. It’s probably the texture that puts most people off. Kind of like sushi, but with a softer more cured flavour. After a bit more wandering we found a highly recommended restaurant - Pancake Bakery. Simply sublime Dutch pancakes. I had an apple & bacon one. Enhanced even further with the application of Stroop. A kind of Dutch golden syrup, but better. Next was an hour long canal cruise with English commentary. Very laid back, but Sam was over it after the third time they repeated the same thing. Ha ha. After heading back for a bit of a rest, we headed out for dinner to the fabled Food Hallen - an old tram shed converted into a food stall and bar hall. Great vibe and excellent food. We tried Bitternballen (deep fried balls stuffed with different meats and cheeses) as well as some gourmet hotdogs and corn. Was even better washed down with some local beers. Enjoy.
TV Journalist Quits His Job to Live on a Tiny House Boat & Cruise UK Canals Full-Time
In this video, we meet David Johns, a former TV journalist from the UK who quit his job, sold his house, and bought a narrowboat to cruise the canal network. His plan was to try being a live aboard for a year. He’s been living aboard for 9 months so far and he’s still happy with his decision and loves being part of the friendly, helpful narrowboat community. Watch this video to take a tour of David's narrowboat, learn how he earns an income as a freelance journalist, where he “parks” his boat, and about the joys & challenges of life afloat. David has been documenting his journey living on a boat with a regular vlog on his YouTube channel: Cruising the Cut (https://www.youtube.com/CruisingTheCutUK). With his experience as a TV journalist, the videos are extremely well filmed and edited, and they're a real pleasure to watch. We were excited when he sent us his interview footage because we learned so much about this alternative lifestyle that he’s trying out. We love the idea of living in a tiny house on the water and of being able to explore from the comfort of your own home (a lot like living in a van!). Thanks for watching!
