Chanel The high fashion wear company was introduced to the world back in 1909 by none other than Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, otherwise known as “Coco Chanel.” This is where the brand gets its inspiration for the famously recognizable logo that is two interlocking C’s. The company specializes in creating haute couture for its wealthy clients but also for fashion models like Naomi Campbell, who once modeled for them, and actresses Marilyn Monroe, Keira Knightley, and Nicole Kidman. One of their most famous products is the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, along with the Chanel Suit. Today, Chanel is valued at being $6.8 billion dollars. An interesting fact to note is that Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director behind Fendi, happens to be the creative director for Chanel as well. 5. Prada Founded back in 1913 by Mario Prada, this fashion brand actually started out by manufacturing leather bags and trunks. It would then evolve into selling everything from clothing to perfume and even a brief stint of LG Prada cell phones. Though the brand may have broadened its inventory, it still spends the majority of its focus creating some of the world’s most exclusive handbags that only the rich and famous can possibly hope to afford. Mario Prada believed that women should not be involved in business so he excluded his own family members from getting involved. In a fantastic twist of irony, his son did not care to run the business so his daughter Luisa Prada took over as his successor and is now currently being run by her daughter Miuccia. 4. House of Versace The fashion empire that is the House of Versace all started with fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1978. He created a brand that has been synonymous with elegance and simply oozes high fashion. His glamorous gowns have gone on to make a name for himself as a respected designer. Like the case of the famous black dress held with gold safety pins that actress Elizabeth Hurley wore back in 1994 to the premiere of Four Weddings and A Funeral. Sadly, Versace’s life was cut short in 1997 on the steps of his Miami mansion when he became the fifth and final victim of Andrew Cunanan. The tragic event will be the story behind American Crime Story’s season 2 titled: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. After his death, his sister Donatella became the new Artistic Director and has established a $5.5 billion company her brother would be proud of. 3. Gucci Started in 1921 by a Mr. Guccio Gucci, the company was originally dabbing in leather goods. It wasn’t until 19 years later when his son Aldo would take the company from being a one-stop shop into the fashion powerhouse that it’s now known for being. It’s Aldo that would usher in the era of the brand’s iconic “Bamboo Bag” and its “ready to wear segments.” In the 90’s, the company decided to bring American Fashion designer Tom Ford to revamp their women’s wear. He ended up helping launch the brand to where it is today. The fashion brand houses other well-known designers in its collections such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yves Saint Laurent. If you’re in the market to do some shopping at this $12.4 billion brand, expect to spend at least $2,000. 2. Louis Vuitton This may come as a shock but the famous fashion brand has been around longer than you might have thought. Formed 163 years ago in 1854, a young man by the name of Louis Vuitton started out as an apprentice for a box-maker. Vuitton ended up becoming a well-known crafter of luxury trunks and opened up his own shop in Paris. He then ended up becoming the personal box-maker of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo. Fast forward years later and the company is now worth $28.1 billion with a generated revenue of $10.1 billion. Today, Louis Vuitton doesn’t make just trunks but designer handbags and clothing that can be spotted on the most famous of A-listers. 1. Balenciaga The beginning of Balenciaga’s reign began back in 1919 when it was established by its founder of the same name, Cristóbal Balenciaga. As a young child, Balenciaga became an apprentice to a tailor in his hometown of Getaria, Spain and would eventually get his formal training in Madrid. He would go on to create the House of Balenciaga and skyrocketed to success thanks to his artistic genius. He was hailed as the undisputed “ King of Fashion” and was highly respected among his peers which included the likes of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Balmain. Balenciaga even helped train the likes of high-fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Hubert Givenchy to name a few.

From its early days commemorating founder Rudolf Dassler to its current "No.1 Logo," here's everything you need to know about the evolution and history of PUMA's iconic cat logo. Since its establishment in 1948, PUMA has become one of the most prominent sport and lifestyle brands in the world. Most recently, the German company has found fresh success by recruiting a number of entertainers as ambassadors and collaborators, including Rihanna, Big Sean, and Selena Gomez. Here, however, we’re focusing on the origins of the brand’s iconic logo. PUMA’s original logo featured a puma cat leaping through a capital “D,” which stood for Dassler as a nod to brand founder Rudolf Dassler. The motif was updated in 1957 with the addition of the word “PUMA” underneath the cat. A year later, the words “Rudolf,” “Dassler,” and “Schuhfabrik” (shoe factory) were added to the design. In 1968, the logo was stripped down to feature a leaping puma with no border or text, and two years later, the design was refined once again, this time by cartoonist Lutz Backes. Following experiments with two different fonts in the mid-’70s, PUMA settled on the uppercase script that remains to this day, adding the silhouette of a puma leaping over the upper-right corner of the text. AT&T began its history as Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, a subsidiary of the Bell Telephone Company, founded by Alexander Graham Bell in 1880. The Bell Telephone Company evolved into American Telephone and Telegraph Company in 1885, which later rebranded as AT&T Corporation. The 1982 United States v. AT&T antitrust lawsuit resulted in the divestiture of AT&T Corporation's ("Ma Bell") subsidiaries or Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs, or "Baby Bells"), resulting in several independent companies including Southwestern Bell Corporation; the latter changed its name to SBC Communications Inc. in 1995. In 2005, SBC purchased its former parent AT&T Corporation and took on its branding, with the merged entity naming itself AT&T Inc. and using its iconic logo and stock-trading symbol. In 2006, AT&T Inc. acquired BellSouth, the last independent Baby Bell company, making their formerly joint venture Cingular Wireless (which had acquired AT&T Wireless in 2004) wholly owned and rebranding it as AT&T Mobility. The current AT&T reconstitutes much of the former Bell System, and includes ten of the original 22 Bell Operating Companies along with the original long distance division... AT&T can trace its origin back to the original Bell Telephone Company founded by Alexander Graham Bell after his patenting of the telephone. One of that company's subsidiaries was American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T), established in 1885, which acquired the Bell Company on December 31, 1899, for legal reasons, leaving AT&T as the main company. Breakup and reformation (1982–2004) In 1982, U.S. regulators broke up the AT&T monopoly, requiring AT&T to divest its regional subsidiaries and turning them each into individual companies. These new companies were known as Regional Bell Operating Companies, or more informally, Baby Bells. AT&T continued to operate long distance services, but as a result of this breakup, faced competition from new competitors such as MCI and Sprint. Southwestern Bell was one of the companies created by the breakup of AT&T Corp... The company soon started a series of acquisitions... During this time, the company changed its name to SBC Communications. By 1998, the company was in the top 15 of the Fortune 500, and by 1999 the company was part of the Dow Jones Industrial Average (lasting through 2015). Purchase of former parent and acquisitions (2005–2014) In 2005, SBC purchased AT&T for $16 billion. After this purchase, SBC adopted the better-known AT&T name and brand, with the original AT&T Corp. still existing as the long-distance landline subsidiary of the merged company. Marc Benzakein https://serverpress.com @marcbenzak | @serverpress Gregg Franklin - handles 90% of the customer service because he’s so good with people David Jesch Stephen Carnam Branding is something you have to do for yourself personally as well as the company you are with - Marc has been told he’s the face of ServerPress because he’s gone to so many WordCamps, but he also has his own “brand” You want to know who these people are, you want to know that they’re people of integrity and you want to know what their mission is Marc has known Gregg since 1989 - they both worked in the video department at Circuit City!   Gregg always made sure to be very knowledgeable about the products and he was very good with the customers, but he was also very competitive! If an agency’s specialty is WordPress, it makes sense to go to WordCamps - the first year Marc was involved with ServerPress, he did 26 WordCamps (2014), basically one every other weekend! Kept up a similar pace the next few years. Marc went to WordCamp San Diego before he even became involved with ServerPress and that’s when he first fell in love with the WordPress community. Phoenix was the first WordCamp that he spoke at. Other than Southern California, ServerPress’ footprint was very small at that time.  When he went to speak at Phoenix, he gave a talk/workshop that was 2 hours. There were about 100 people in the room and it went without a hitch! They were a bootstrap company with not a lot of capital.  How do they get their name out there? Branding is more important than “marketing” at that level. “You get to control your marketing, but people control your brand. They get to decide what they think of you whether you like it or not.” What did they want people to think about ServerPress: We’re at every single WordCamp We’re an established company in the community They decided to provide lanyards with their name and logo on it and the WordCamp’s logo on the other side - but after about a year were asked to stop doing that - he knew when they did it the first time, they might eventually be told to stop! (reminiscent of what happened with Pantheon branding the hotel elevators at WCUS 2016)  Andrea Middleton (from the WordPress Community team) called him (and was SO nice), and politely encouraged them to stop, which they agreed. Jason: you should provide power strips in the rooms with your logo on them! People would LOVE you! Marc: better idea - take your sponsor table and just fill it with power strips. People would hang out there all day long! This is why one of Bridget & Jason’s main goals with this show is to give people actionable ideas to improve their marketing and learn how to reach their audience better The question you have to ask yourself is: What is our return on investment?  It’s not a concrete, easy number when you are involved in WordCamps. Money/profit is the scorecard that most people look to.   2017 was a tough year for DesktopServer - Apple had more security updates than ever, Microsoft had more security updates than ever and they had to react to all of it. Also, PHP7 came and they had to react to that as well. It was a perfect storm Marc has never had a partnership like this one.  They have a deep respect for each other. It might be fate … it just worked out! There needs to be some overlap between the roles, but not so much that everyone is stepping on each other’s toes.   What you see is what you get with them.  They are exactly who you see on a weekend at a WordCamp and during the week at ServerPress. People don’t care how big a company is, they want to have some sort of personal connection to the company. This is why they go to so many WordCamps - they want to have that same connection to their customers. But just how much of what you might read online is true? The Rothschild family came from Frankfurt, where the house they had lived in for generations was marked with the sign of the Red Shield (Roth + Schild). Like many Jewish families at the time, the Rothschilds were involved in finance, specifically currency exchange and collectible coins. That was the business of the Rothschild patriarch: Mayer Rothschild. His success in this business attracted many wealthy customers, including Wilhelm, the future ruler of Hesse. Mayer managed Wilhelm's fortune and successfully protected it from Napoleon's invasion, for which he was greatly rewarded. Mayer had 5 sons, which he spread throughout Europe. Each established his own family and banking business in the five great European capitals at the time: London, Paris, Frankfurt, Vienna and Naples. Throughout the 19th century the five brothers and (eventually) their heirs cooperated in numerous financing projects, lending money to governments and the nobility. By the end of the 19th century the wealth of just the French branch was the equivalent of $500 million today. The 20th century, however, wasn't kind to the Rothschilds. The Naples and Frankfurt branches became effectively extinct when their last patriarchs produced no male heirs. A more sinister fate befell the branches in Vienna and Paris, who had the vast majority of their wealth confiscated in the course of the Second World War. Only the branch in London survived intact, and today it is still a powerful force in Britain. At present the wealth of the Rothschilds is hidden in a series of shell companies originating in Switzerland. It is unclear exactly how rich they are, but by all visible measures they appear to have lost the majority of their richest during the 20th century. Thus, ironically, one of the most popular subjects of conspiracy theories today has instead been on the decline for well over a century. Established Ship Builder Reveals Yacht with a Twist Johnson Yachts’ new 115-foot tri-deck flagship distinguishes itself with a plumb bow, generous social spaces, and upper skylounge. Johnson Yachts may sound like an American name, but the builder has been making yachts in Taiwan for the last 35 years. Its solid, quality-built vessels, however, are arguably the most American of yachts, and they’re created for the U.S. market. About 98 percent of Johnson’s boats are run by American owners in U.S. waters. The brand’s designs have tended to be mainstream, but the builder is now heading in an exciting direction with its 115-foot tri-deck flagship, announced Thursday at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. It could be a new path for Johnson. Dixon Yacht Design created the contemporary exterior that is unlike any other yacht in the line (not to mention any other competitor in its class), and Design Unlimited rose to the occasion with the spacious interior. The plumb bow not only redefines Johnson’s sense of aesthetics, but adds extra volume to the forward quarter of the yacht. The bulwarks have unusual glass insets that create exceptional views from any angle and also protect wayward crew members during rough passages. The skylounge on the upper deck, large social area on the foredeck, and more intimate beach club at the stern offer very different choices of gathering places across the exterior of the boat. On the 115’s interior, the main social area is the large saloon with full-height windows, with a formal dining room forward. The rear part of the saloon is connected to the aft deck by wide-opening doors, so owners can create a seamless feel between inside and out, for a big party or large alfresco dinner. The upper level’s skylounge has the same inner-outer design, with the smaller saloon leading to an aft deck. Owners can design the interior with their own decor and color schemes, while also having a choice of a five- or six-stateroom layout. The yacht also accommodates two tenders, another unusual feature for a boat this size. The swim platform holds a 16-foot tender, and the garage behind the beach club will hold the larger 18-footer. When it is launched, this yacht could well attract a new following of younger owners for the Johnson brands

Samsung has opened its new mobile factory in India. This factory is said to be the world's largest mobile factory. The factory plot which is of 35-acre, is situated at Sector 81 in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae will be officially inaugurating the Samsung Electronics factory on Monday. By opening the new factory, Samsung India aims to increase its overall production to 50 per cent in the next three years, which is currently at 10 per cent. 1. Samsung is currently making 67 million smartphones in India and with the new plant, the company is aiming to manufacture nearly 120 million mobile phones. Commenting on the new Samsung plant, Tarun Pathak, Associate Director at Counterpoint Research says that the new factory will reduce the time to market for Samsung. "This will help Samsung bring some local features to the devices powered by R&D here. Apart from this, the company can also bring in export opportunity for Samsung to SAARC and other regions," Pathak told IANS. 2. Back in June 2017, the South Korean giant had announced a Rs 4,915 crore investment to expand the new Noida plant. It just a year after a new of the announcement, Samsung's Noida plant is all-ready to double production. By setting up the new plant Samsung is not only aiming to double its mobile phone production but other consumer electronics products as well, like refrigerators and flat panel televisions. 3. According to HC Hong, President and CEO, Samsung India, a bigger manufacturing plant will help the company cater to the growing demand for Samsung products across India. 4. Established in 1995, Samsung India laid the foundation for the Noida plant next year, 1996. In 1997, the production commenced and the first Samsung TV was rolled out to the market. It is in 2003 that the Samsung initiated the refrigerator production in the country. It is in just a couple of years, that is by 2005, Samsung had become the market leader in manufacturing TV panels. In 2007, the existing Noida plat started manufacturing mobile phones. In 2012, Samsung became the leader in mobile phones in the country and the Noida facility rolled out the first-ever Galaxy S3 device. Today, Samsung is among the top mobile brands in India. With the new Noida plant Samsung is expecting to expand its mobile business in the country. To recollect, Samsung India has registered around 27 per cent growth in mobile business revenue for the financial year 2016-17. 5. Samsung currently has two manufacturing plants in the country -- one in Noida and the second one in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. There are five R&D centres, and one design centre in Noida, where somewhere over 70,000 people work.
