My client is a fast growing and leading Wealth Advice and investment management firm who have established themselves across the UK. They specialise in providing an advice service to HNW private individuals. Their success has led to growth and they now have a superb opportunity for a diploma qualified, experienced paraplanner to join their team in Central London. Within this role, the paraplanner will be responsible for providing efficient professional support to a team of Wealth Advisers working within a fee based environment. More specifically, this role will focus on ensuring the preparation of advice for clients (both internal and external) is of the highest quality and delivered in an efficient manner whilst mitigating any risks to the business and assisting with the achievement of business targets. Preparing valuations, reports and renewal information, and maintaining up-to-date information on the company’s database are also important aspects of this role. To be considered by my client, I am looking for an individual who has predominantly been responsible for report writing and research ideally within pre-sale. You will be level 4 qualified with the determination to become chartered in the future. You will have previous or current experience from a fee based environment as well as a track record in discretionary management, cash flow modelling and financial planning, analysis of existing investments and the ability to formulate advice with the Wealth Adviser. This role will be heavily template report focused. The paraplanner role is based within a fast paced environment, so you must be able to work under pressure and have the audacity and drive to not be afraid to challenge as well as having the potential to develop others in the work place. Clients with lower levels of assets are taken care of by the desk based telephone team. They have in house investment managers; they have dedicated Paraplanners in each office with a ratio of 1 paraplanner to every 2 financial planners. As a business they are conservative and are looking for steady growth. They are a looking to strengthen their marketable brand and are known professionally. Financial planners in the business will provide cash flow, non-transactional, lifestyle advice. Investment decisions are left to the investment managers. The investment managers will often attend the advisers on client meetings. What they are looking for? Candidates who can transfer business over the medium term; they will treat you on a case by case basis. The New Business Award will reward you over an agreed period, typically two years, taking into account any non-compete periods. This is a significant element of the contract. In addition they will pay a strong basic salary, relative to total fees achieved. You would also earn bonus off new business and the levels of recurring income that’s brought on and managed. Working within a team of 5 Administrators initally, responsibilities will include the submission of new business, preparation of client files prior to review, obtaining valuations and policy information, ensuring that client files are kept up to date and are compliant, general written and verbal correspondence and the tracking and completion of workflow. The company is growing and therefore they will create a personal development plan for you that is reviewed annually to ensure that you are progressing. A plan has been developed to take the successful candidate from the Administration department, into a consultancy role via the paraplanning department and is expected that you will progress to the paraplanning team within a two-year period. All course literature and exam costs are met and time off is given for study prior to the exam and on the day of the exam itself. As a Paraplanner you would be working as part of a productive, high performing team to provide full support to the Advisers. Your role would be to offer the most efficient, professional and effective client service possible with a high focus on quality and accuracy. Your duties would include: Analysing clients circumstances, portfolios and objectives and preparing appropriate recommendation reports for the Advisers; Providing high quality technical, administrative and research support to the Advisers; Undertaking whole-of-market research as required, including investments, pensions and protection plans; Undertaking research for asset allocation on clients’ existing portfolios, quantifying and analysing those clients’ existing investments; Liaising with the Risk & Compliance team to ensure the advice is compliant; Building strong and effective working relationships with other teams in the firm and third party product providers; Attending and contributing to meetings – both internal and external – and delivering group and individual training on topics appropriate to the role; Ensuring that all client records and data are maintained accurately and efficiently; Participating in ad hoc projects and tasks as and when required. The ideal candidate will have the experience of writing accurate and clear recommendation reports, have experience of analysing a clients’ current situation and financial objectives in order to make recommendations and will have experience of communicating with third party providers.
