5 Things You Should Know About Cheating In Monopoly: Cheaters Edition - Review

11:02
Monopoly: Cheaters Edition 2-6 Players Designer: Joe Bradford Publisher: Hasbro Gaming Economic / Trading Monopoly is a family board game that has endured many iterations, countless hours of gameplay and ever lasting memories of hours of purchasing properties, collecting rent and forcing other players into bankruptcy. Even big corporations such as McDonalds have run competitions based around the theme of Monopoly itself. One of the greatest issues that has impacted on the game of Monopoly itself is the fact that many people play the game using house rules. In fact in some cases the house rules are a form of cheating favouring certain players over another. Hasbro Gaming has now released a new version of Monopoly where Cheating is an integral aspect to the game itself. In fact cheating is encouraged! We examine in this video whether this new iteration of Monopoly really allows players to 'cheat' per se' or is it simply yet another rethemed Monopoly game that will get lost amongst the other editions. Can cheating be done in a game which already has hundreds of different house rule variants or will this game set the story straight and make cheating an embraced element in this game of monopolising other players and bankruptcy. And Then We Held Hands Board Game Review & Runthrough

09:47
The Board Game Sanctuary Presents: And Then We Held Hands Board Game Review & Runthrough Specifications …And Then We Held Hands Designers: David Chircop, Yannick Massa Publisher: LudiCreations 2 Players only 30min Cooperative Abstract Game And Then We Held Hands is a fully cooperative abstract game where players try to restore what is broken in their relationship by trying to become in sync with their partner’s thoughts and emotions. Gameplay The objective of the game is essentially for players to move their player beads from coloured circle to coloured circle completing objectives from the objective card deck as they go. To move their bead from coloured node to coloured node, players need to discard a card from their emotions row. The colours represent different positive and negative emotions that players have in their life. As they move, their emotional stability becomes unbalanced. It is important for players to try and keep their emotional state at 0. The cards are complex emotions and usually feature two bands of colours on either side. The position of a players bead on the board determines what perspective the player sees on their emotion cards. Players may play a card from their card row or from their partner’s card row. So players work in tandem to reach their goal. Monopoly Gamer Board Game Review & Runthrough Nintendo's Mario Kart / Mario Party The Board Game Please Subscribe! Monopoly has divided households, opinions and the world for decades with people either loving the game, playing competitively, house ruling it to suit their family or simply just because they love the randomness of the dice roll. Modern Board Games often criticise Monopoly for its long play time, poor risk management and skewered dice rolls. Beneath the layers and surface of the game, there is an economic driven idea that thrives on capitalism and inequality between rich and poor. Nintendo have now combined with Hasbro and released a version of Monopoly for the nostalgic Nintendo and Monopoly fans. With its new tweaked rule and game mechanics, Hasbro have reinvented the game of Monopoly to make players feel like you are playing your favourite characters from Nintendo throughout its extensive history including Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, Toad, Wario, Yoshi, Diddy Kong and more... Just like in Real Life, these characters have been brought to life to liven and reimagine the Monopoly experience in a different way. In this video we examine the differences between Monopoly Gamer and the classic Monopoly Board Game and see which is better. Does Monopoly Gamer live up to the current standards in modern board gaming or does it fail miserably at the wayside. Watch this video and find out. 5 Fully Cooperative Board Games That Divided Players' Opinions...

13:48
Board Game Menu Season 1 Episode: 8 5 Fully Cooperative Board Games That Have Divided Players Opinions. Here we are at it again. In this video we have 5 scrumptious fully cooperative board games to sink your teeth into. However, this list has a catch. It is comprised of games that have divided player opinions alike whether it is a single rule, a implementation of a very popular board game, trialling a new system or simply one that people either warmed to or simply hated. Please Like & Subscribe! App driven board games like Mansions of Madness aimed to improve the setup time and length of time spent on learning the rules in the first edition of the games' initial release. Integrating an app into a board game has really divided players with some saying it enhances the gaming experience by streamlining it & adding SFX whilst others state that it detracts away from the gameplay itself. Game systems much like the one that the board game TIME Stories introduces has divided players mainly on the idea that each Time Story expansion module is consumable. Once the game is finished, players are not really going to revisit the game anytime soon. So it is a weigh up of cost vs entertainment value. The idea of forking out lots of money to continue using the Time Stories system was not received well by some whilst others likened it to seeing a movie or theatre show with the family. Reimplemmenting a very popular, in fact the 'once' number one board game on Board Game Geek (Pandemic Legacy Season 1) with a sequel is a very daunting task as it is hard to build on such a solid release. The release of Pandemic Legacy Season 2 was either going to be accepted equally as favourably as the first season or it was going to disappoint. As long as a game captures the true heart of why people loved the original it has succeeded in my eyes. Experimenting with mechanics and pushing the envelope is what makes board games stand out. With a plethora of various crime solving board games out there, it is often hard to stand out above the rest. Witness does crime solving differently by dividing the clues amongst its players forcing all players to work cooperatively or fail miserably. This division really adds for both an exciting yet unpredictable experience each time. One rule in a game can either destroy an entire experience or make it shine. Games like Zombicide (Hit the nearest target rule) and Legends of Andor have single rules that either really capture gamers alike or turn them away. Many players that have played Legends of Andor have commented on the rule that punishes players for defeating monsters which are hoarding towards the castle. This rule has split player opinions as although the game is dressed in RPG style fashion it is in fact a more pandemic style puzzle. Is Going First Always The Best In A Board Game? - First Player Advantage / Move In Turn Based Games

22:49
VLOG: Episode 3 First Player / Move Advantage in Family Board Games Good Board Game Afternoon! PLEASE Subscribe, Like & Share When you sit down for a fun night of board gaming, determining who the first player is can sometimes be a strategy in its own right, very random or down right awkward. We either roll the dice, select the youngest player or follow some random rule from a rule book without thinking that being the starting player is a strategy and powerful position in its own right. Can being the starting player be the worst thing ever OR is it the most powerful thing a player can be? It has long been perceived that going first gives you a strong strategic gameplay advantage, and thus winning…. Or does it? Many classic board games like chess, checkers, connect 4, backgammon all require players to alternate turns and alternate moves. There has been many statistical studies on the effectiveness and the power of the first player. In particular in chess, it has been stated that the first player (white) has a slightly greater chance at winning compared to the player controlling the black pieces. We take this game theory and idea and see if it still currently exists in modern and family board games. Does going first give you a sure fire way to win every game or does it actually hinder your progress in a game? Good games and good game designers try to integrate equitable turn order and player powers into their core game design so that no player is given an advantage over the others. In this Vlog we examine the power of the first player move and advantage and see how it can affect your next board gaming experience and maybe it will change the way you play games for now and in the future. A must play for anyone who loves Ryan Laukat's games. Board Game Sanctuary is a family friendly channel that aims to enthuse and introduce new gamers to the board gaming world.

Board Game Sanctuary Presents Season 1 Board Game Menu Episode 3: 5 Favourite Spy Themed Party Games Party Games are a great hit when you have friends or family over or when you simply are looking to break the ice when meeting new people for the first time. Spy themed games usually involve an element of bluffing, social deduction and intrigue. This video features a quick overview of some of my favourite spy themed party games. A spy can be defined as a person employed by a government or other organization to secretly obtain information on an enemy or competitor. This video features: Codenames is a deduction style party game where players compete against each other in 2 teams with one player in each team acting as the spy master and the other players acting as spies trying to make contact with their own operatives from the field. The team to make contact with all of their spies first wins! Spyfall is a bluffing style conversational game where one player who is the spy has to try and narrow down the location that the other players are at before they accuse the spy of being deceitful and their identity is revealed. Dead last is a ‘Survivor Reality Tv Show’ style social collusion game where players formulate and change alliances using overt or covert communication in order to eliminate the other players and be the last player standing. There is no hidden traitor, just diplomacy & politics. The player to get 25 gold bars first wins the game! The Resistance is a social deducation game where a group of players play the role of resistance operatives and the others play the imperial spies. Players take on hidden role cards to decide their allegiances. Coup is a memory style bluffing game set in the future where players attempt to influence each other and thus gain greater political stature. The Board Game Sanctuary Presents: Robinson Crusoe Adventures On The Cursed Island Board Game Review & Gameplay Designer: Ignacy Trzewiczek Publisher: Portal Games, Z Man Games Players: 1-4 Time: 120min Genre: Cooperative, Storytelling, Action Selection Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on The Cursed Island is a fully cooperative board game where players take on the roles of shipwrecked survivors confronted by the challenges of staying alive without food, shelter or hope of ever being rescued. Players explore the island, hunt for food, build shelter, brace through fierce weather and encounter events that could either make or break morale. There are 6 challenging scenarios and a plethora of experiences to enjoy. So lets gather around like we’re on the tv show survivor, plot, debate and survive. Gameplay Overview Robinson Crusoe is a medium to heavy cooperative game that has an incredibly steep learning curve. Don’t let this deter you from investing some time and energy into learning the game because once you have mastered the rules, this game is one of the best board games I have ever played. There are 6 scenarios. Castaways, The Cursed Island, Saving Jenny! Volcano Island, Cannibal Island and The Robinson Family. For the rules overview I will be using scenario 1. It is important to note that each scenario varies in its setup, rules and use of icons. Each feels like its own unique game.
