Server 2008 Lesson 11 - Print Server Role and Deploying Printers

10:08
In this lesson I install the Printer and Document Services Role on the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. This will allow the server to become a printer server that can share and deploy printers on the domain. I add a local printer and deploy it using Group Policy to all the computers and users in the domain. If you do not a mix of 32bit and 64bit operating systems on your domain you will need to install additional drivers for both types. Also I update the Group Policy settings on the client using the gpupdate command and verify the printer being deployed. This video is part of the Server 2008 R2 Series from Lecture Snippets. The materials need to complete the lessons on your own include a disk image of Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Windows 7, and the free download from Virtualbox.org to run the virtual machines. PHP Lesson 21 - Variable Scope and the Global Keyword

05:19
When creating variables within PHP it is important to consider variable scope, or in other words the reach of a variables use. When creating a global variable you can use it in conditional statements and loops. However, when using a global variable in a function you must use the keyword GLOBAL to indicate that the variable is global. Typically variables within a function are local variables and can only be used in the function itself. This video is part of a series on PHP Development.
